  1. Lol...

First thing I'd need to do is stop smoking so Mark doesn't have to wait while I take "smoke breaks".

Second thing I'd need to do is actually learn to ride off road again(maybe that would be third behind getting an off road bike).

Other than those two, I think we'd do just fine...

Riding style wise, Mark is the closest I've ever found to being my perfect match(no offense B).

Sometimes we just let petty stuff get in the way...

It does make for good "make-up" sex though!!

    Aw, you so sweet...

Actually you are more salty. Stop drinking so much coffee.

  2. So you are bored of it already, what are you getting now?:wtf: It was like new when I sold it to ya less than 2 months ago, what has made you change your mind? Just curious is all, I really enjoyed that bike.

Bored isn't the word, really. I'm not exactly sure. I put 1300 or so miles on it and just don't love it. Nothing wrong with it, just don't want it.

    I think I may get a KLX250, or DRZ400.

  3. Thats about what I get out of my dr 350. But I bet your 650 turns less then my 350 at 65 mph. The dr almost matches the sppedo to tach in sixth gear. 65 mph is about 6300 rpm.

If the 650 had a tach I could confirm this.

  4. What kind of fuel range does this have? I have the dr 350 and think this would be a better commuter bike for me. once again if my speedtriple sells in time...

90 miles to reserve, 115 to empty.

It has a smaller front sprocket on it, so putting back the original 15T and riding less like an asshole (which I am guilty of) would net a bit more mileage.

  5. 2005 Suzuki DR650, yellow with all the formerly white plastics painted with bedliner... actually looks pretty boss.

    4900 miles

    Tusk barkbusters

    USC skid plate

    Moose rear fender bag

    SAE plug for battery charger

12VDC cig plug socket on dash

Rear subfender removed and plate relocated up

    14T front sprocket

Shinko 244 tires, front is great, rear is near the end of life

    Owners manual

    1 key

    Partial toolkit

Parts: OEM handguards, bar ends, 15T sprocket

Few scratches / scuffs here and there but overall a very clean bike. Starts instantly and runs great.

    $2800

I'm in eastern Ohio, south of New Philadelphia, and can deliver in my own trailer (within a limited distance, I'm not going to CA with this thing), or can drop it off at a shipping terminal if you want to go that route. Local buyers are welcome to ride it with MC endorsement and waiver.

Pics are "from the road", it's currently dirty, and we are moving, so I'm not really able to get great pictures for a week or so, but if no one buys it in that time frame I will take some glamour shots.

  6. You cannot "waive" right of way with a "wave".

As someone else said, right of way is determined by law and posted by signage and signals.

I suppose in this litigious world, you could sue the person waving you on if they end up hitting you, but I think you'd have an uphill battle.

If I were investigating a crash like what you describe, I'd cite the right of way violator every time even if they were being waved on.

And how do you know, for sure, that they are even waving you on? Maybe there is a bee in their car, the sun is in their eyes, they are having a bout of turrets, who knows?

  7. I have to drive to Strasburg, OH on this Thursday for a service call... I think New philly is 15 minutes south? I'll happily detour south to pick it up if it fits. Not sure if you can sneak away from work for 5-10 minutes, but maybe I can TXT when I get close? $8 is too good to pass up.

I actually work in Uhrichsville which is about 20 min from Strasburg. If you can come to Uhrichsville Thursday you can have it por nada. I will throw it in my trunk today.

  8. We are moving soon, and are getting stuff ready for a garage sale. Oh, joy.

I have some motorcycle stuff that I won't be using, and I figured I'd take a half hour and put it on Ohio Riders (and ADV) before it goes into the (literal) garage sale.

A lot of this stuff is very well used and may be cosmetically ... ummm... impaired. But, it is cheap, and if you are looking for serviceable stuff for just a little scratch, here ya go.

Everything is sold minus shipping costs; so be sure and figure a few extra bucks if you want it shipped. All items are Paypal payment only. Any questions, email me directly: markmeftah@yahoo.com. Offers welcome. Local pickup encouraged (OH 43338).

    Here we go:

MSR pants, 36" inseam, over the boot style with 1/4 leg zips on the lower legs; these have been crashed and have small scuffs and a few <1" rips on the right leg; the interior wicking liner also only goes to the knees, not all the way down the leg, and as you can see they are dirty as hell - used - $10

    DSC_0037.jpg

Moose Racing front fender bag for spare tube and irons, straps over fender, includes fastex buckles, one strap is a little frayed but it functions great - used - $8

Tour Master Solution waterproof boots (on right), size 12, dirty with caked on / in grime but still waterproof with good velcro and good zippers, still got a good bit of life left - used - $15

    DSC_0032.jpg

HJC CL15 street helmet (on left), with Echo quick release, XL, face shield could be replaced due to scratching but it is still serviceable; helmet itself is in fine shape, I used it as a dual sport helmet so as to not tear up my nice one in the woods - used - $8

GMax 56X off road helmet (on right), XL, with Echo quick release - missing plastic covers on rear exhaust vent holes- used - $8

    DSC_0031.jpg

Joe Rocket jacket, size...L (?? unsure, no tag; it fits me in the body and arms but is tight around the waist, I normally wear a L or XL and have a 38" waist), no armor, patches from trips and such, kind of cool looking and a nice around town jacket - used - $10

    DSC_0030.jpg

Nelson Rigg rear seat / rack bag, black cordura, a little faded from the sun but the photo makes it look a LOT more purple than it really is, with internal bungees, two pockets, inner mesh pockets, raincover, dimensions - 12" W x 9" H x 9" D - used - $20

    DSC_0053.jpg

Not shown and I have no idea why because I sure as hell took the pictures:

Enduro Engineering barkbusters, for 7/8 alum bars, black metal with "MJ USA" engraved on each, one is tweaked a bit but can be straightened, with mounting hardware and handlebar mounts EXCEPT no front facing button head bolts to attach the inner section of the barkbuster to the handlebar mount, should be easy to find a bolt for that - used - $8

DR650SE license plate light, wiring (uncut) with plug, and bolts - used but looks new - $10

That's it for now. Thanks for looking!

  9. I am selling my 2008 Yamaha WR250R. I am the original owner, purchased in mid 2009.

I don't really know why I am selling it, except it has been something I have been thinking about off and on for a few months. I'm always doing some kind of horse swapping... Figured I'd list it and see if anyone was interested. I would also be interested in a trade for a similarly equipped DR650, maybe a DRZ400S, possibly a KLR650 (pre-2008 and dependent on doohickey and so forth)...

The motorcycle is mechanically great; but cosmetically well used. The plastics are typical of a bike that has seen a lot of trails - scrapes, scuffs, scratches, and the like. It has dirt caked into the hard to reach places, and some of that is probably permanently attached...

Bike is stock, with the following "bolt on" upgrades:

    Driven Racing aluminum folding shifter

    DRC cleated pegs

    SAE Battery Tender connection

    Bulletproof Designs aluminum radiator guard

IMS 3.1 gallon translucent fuel tank (OEM included)

    Sunline 7/8 aluminum handlebars

    Scott MX grips

Tusk aluminum handguards with Cycra plastic brushguards

RAM mount ball and handlebar mount

    Headlight off switch

Headlight protector - clear plastic 3 mil overlay

    Moose Racing rear fender bag

DR650 toolbox retrofitted to left side of subframe

    DRC aluminum skidplate

    DRC 1.5" bar risers

    Also comes with:

Newer (100 miles on them) Sedona MX867 tires and tubes front and rear

    New front sprocket (-1T)

    New rear brake pads

    2 keys

    Manual

    All maintenace records since new

Bike does not have passenger pegs, nor chain guard. They were removed since it was mainly used off road.

It will need a new chain and rear sprocket in the next few thousand miles. Other than that, it needs nothing.

Clear Ohio title, ready to transfer.

I'm near Mansfield, OH; but also have a trailer and don't mind hauling it somewhere to complete the sale.

I'm looking for $3300 or the above mentioned trades. I guess I'd consider other trades, too. My interests run mainly into pavement, gravel roads, and light trail riding. No MX bikes, off road only bikes, or converted bikes interest me. Also please do not lowball me, I don't need to sell it, so overly low offers will simply be ignored. Make a fair cash or equivalent trade offer, and we can talk!

I can be reached via email at markmeftah@yahoo.com, please allow at least 6 hours for a response depending on when you send it.
