  1. It would be worth looking in at IP to check if you could buy a large headliner for your extra large helmet. I know there are 5 shell sizes for the entire size run, XXS-XXXL. If the L & XL use the same shell you could get a better fit in the crown, which would in turn force the already thickest cheek pads (I think 41mm) to hold onto you more. Good luck!
  2. Absolutely! I don't even remember that dude's name, but what a knockout! He was getting his ass handed to him, and suddenly Duffee was out. Unbelievable. There's no better example of getting "caught" than that.
  3. Wow. the much-hyped Rashad vs. Rampage fight was just that: hype. It was a fight that showed total discipline and control by Evans. He looked fast and confident. He only caught Rampage right at the start, then just did what he does well: kept Rampage on the fence and on his back. Rampage gassed out and looked slow and clumsy. I was hoping to see some fireworks what with all the trash these guys talked about one another. No question about it, Evans earned that victory. I doubt that same game plan can be effective against a guy like Shogun. That will be a fight to watch. It's a good thing there were some other entertaining fights on this card!

Thanks for the correction. The site is actually www.speedtrap.org. I made the mistake of adding the S at the end.

    Speed Traps

Perhaps this isn't a new site, but it's new to me. I didn't spend a ton of time on it but it looks legit to me. A nationwide list of speed traps is available at http://www.speedtraps.org . Check it out if you are a habitual speeder, it could save your butt.
  6. Well, I could see my pictures. I guess it helps to make my album public? Let me know if they can be seen now, I am new at all this. Sorry guys!
  7. Here are the pix, per request. Again, she's not perfect, but I couldn't be happier to have such a cool second bike.
  8. Ok, here's mine, 2007 Bandit 1250S. Mods include: lower bodywork, taller smoked 'screen, rear hugger, K&N, Scorpion slipon, Gsxr forks, wheels, and brakes. I need a power commander; one of these days.
  9. I took it last year as a pilot program. I am not sure if the brass at Motorcycle Ohio decided to run it a lot or plan ahead for it. If it's not on the MO schedule, it'll likely only show up as a fill-in this season. As a BRC instructor, I didn't plan on being challenged much, but it was fun. There were a few exercises that were plenty challenging. My instructors did a great job pairing up faster riders together and keeping slower bikes together as well. It was a $25 course; plan on running a tad longer than 9 hours unless they modified the curriculum. If you have already done lots of track days though, I doubt it'll teach you much. It will let you get to know your bike better under controlled circumstances. Keep looking for it, and enjoy!
  10. Wow, there's no better example than that for me to remember. I know it'll be a steep learning curve when I get out there, but I am really looking forward to it. For me, it seems that learning something new is exciting. I just hope that I don't get too addicted to the track; I've talked to too many guys who all but quit riding on the street after they get into track days hardcore. Thanks again!
  11. Welcome form Westerville!
  12. Sorry about how you've been handled at IP. I gotta admit, it's pretty tough being there all weekend while all the other riders are out having fun. You might want to reapply right now if you really want to work there... just a thought.
  13. Yup, redkow nailed it. I lowered it 1.5 inches and put good frame sliders on it. The factory bar ends are pretty long already so they're set. My wife already dropped it slowly and it was ok except for the shifter. It broke off so I had to drill & tap it, then loc-tite the screw. Thanks for the advice about starting at the bottom & working up; I am completely new at this track stuff. In fact, I'm not sure my schedule will even allow a 1st track day this season.
  14. Sorry guys, all I can say is "Employee Discount!"
  15. No, that one sold a few months ago. I got a naked blue one that someone traded in. I got lucky to be the first one to see it, it helps that I work at Iron Pony part time. It's a 2001, has 5400 miles on it and is all original. It's not perfect but it runs great and looks good. It'll serve its purpose for sure.
  16. So I got a great deal on a 1st gen sv650 from Yamaha of Columbus and I hope this bike will serve two purposes. The first and most important is to be my wife's starter bike. The second is to eventually become my track-only bike. I am looking for ideas on how to make this as user friendly as possible first, then make it fast later. You guys got any ideas?
  17. Let me know what you come up with. I have a 1250s; it seems like you may have tank clearance issues if you go too low. Good luck.
