  1. Who wants a new Suzuk? Stop by Pony Powersports Black Friday (11/23) through the following Monday (11/26) & have your picture taken sitting on the new Suzuki of your choice. Please make sure there is a Pony Powersports representative in the photo with you. Go to Suzuki's facebook page and follow their directions for uploading and entering the contest. www.facebook.com/suzukicycles One random photo will be selected & that person will win the new Suzuki of their choice. The odds on this contest are pretty good. I do not remember the exact number last year, but I think there was less than 1,000 entries. I'd love to see a Pony Powersports customer as the winner this year. See you this weekend!
  2. THANKS OHIO RIDERS! Thanks for all the well wishes, good karma and those that came out. The event was great. We had a bunch of fun. Jon got to meet a ton of people and really appreciates your support. People made a bunch of donations directly to him and we had a great day so he & his wife received a nice sum of money. OR Rocks!
  3. This Saturday! Bump for this event, it is a good cause for a great guy & local rider. Hot coffee & Krispy Kremes in the AM. Lots of really cool stuff in the silent auction 10 -3. MX, SX, MotoGP & Bluejackets autographed SWAG. 10% of all sales go to Jon & his family, in store & online sales. Hope to see you here. http://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.549287615097718.139339.144122462280904&type=1
  4. Come out to Iron Pony on Nov 17th & welcome Jon Espenes back to work. Jon was involved in a very serious motorcycle accident moments after leaving work on July 28th. 10% of sales go to Jon on this day plus 100% of the proceeds of a silent auction (lots of cool stuff) Coffee & donuts @ 9AM, silent auction 10-3. I'll post up silent auction stuff soon. Going to be some pretty neat stuff. (I brought in a new yellow Suzuki hat signed by Kevin Schwantz from my personal collection)
  5. The Zero-60 brand was made by the original people behind Fieldsheer. They created this brand as alternative to mid priced suits like Fieldsheer. (yes sometimes one company makes several different brands that compete with each other) Zero-60 was the house brand of one of the large wholesale distributors. Several years ago you could have found a website and reviews, but they are long gone. Iron Pony did one of its famous power buys and bought everything the distributor had left in Zero-60. It was a chance for them to clean out their wharehouse of a product they are no longer going to do and an opportunity for us to bring you a smoking deal. No, these are not the latest & greatest, but they are feature packed and will get the job done for an amazing price.
  6. Just hit the dock, these will not last long. Zero - 60 one and two piece suits. $299-$339! Great selection of sizes (even some big boy sizes) and colors. There are awesome deals on matching gloves as well. Fully armored & many are perforated and have aero/speed humps. These are perfect for track days & runs to 555 or the Dragon. Full-on race details, but at this price even an occasional track day rider can add one of these to their gear bag. I've grabbed one and am taking it to VMD to show it off this weekend. They are not even on the floor yet. My guess is they will have them out tomorrow afternoon. I just wanted to get something on here asap when I saw them come in the door. I'll post up more details when I get back from the track or just come in and check them out. You will be thrilled, this is a smoking deal!
  7. Some tasty goodness arrived at Pony Powersports yesterday.
  8. Good point, I guess those bikes 00-10 can be 12 years old now. I'll ask the club about next year. My guess is they will wait until 15 so the bikes are at least 5 years old. Cool W650, do not see many...really neat bike.
  9. Who wants it? Vintage Motorcycle Club Show & Swap Meet @ Iron Pony tomorrow. 10-4. Free Admission. $10 to enter a bike + $5 for each additional bike. Classes, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's, 1990's + Overall. Everyone gets to be a judge....come out and see how they use to make them & vote on your favorites.
  10. To position yourself perfectly for a turn, just look over the rider's shoulder in the direction of the turn. If the motorcycle is turning right, look over the rider's right shoulder; if it is turning left, look over the rider's left shoulder. You don't have to do anything else; looking naturally over the rider's inside shoulder will automatically put your weight right where it belongs in a turn. Keep your body in line with the rider's body to prevent the motorcycle from leaning more than the rider intends. (When going straight, it doesn't matter which shoulder you look over.) Never lean out of a turn; you could cause an accident that way. This is key....make sure it is understood....really understood.
  11. Seem to work OK for me, I'll check with our IT guy. I'm not certain on the CBXs, but I would expect to see a few. I have been begging a guy to bring out his 78 Z1R TC (turbo Z1R sold through Kawasaki dealers) they only made 100 each year. They are worth $30,000+ in good condition.
  12. Shoot, there's a 90's class too.....bring that TL, you don't see many of the original one any more. $10 to enter your first bike, each additional bike only $5
  13. This Saturday.....We have been talking to a lot of people about this, looks like it is going to be a great turnout come see what it use to be like in the old days... A couple of Kawasaki 500cc two-stroke triples, a 71 & 75......Ring a ding-ding...
  14. The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club is having a bike show & swap meet this Saturday (23rd of June 10- 4) at Iron Pony. There is a 1990's class....please bring your bike, it's awesome.
  15. I'll leave them at the front counter......under "OhioRiders" Secret password....."Gimme dem stickers" Hope you all have fun down there. Scott
  16. I'm not suggesting you do anything strange, dangerous, silly or outrageous (but that may help) on your Dragon runs, but if you get an Iron Pony sticker clearly visible on the Killboy "highlights page" I will give you a $50 gift card. (I will also do the same for an Iron Pony T-shirt) Again it needs to be CLEARLY visible. If someone is coming by the store before you guys leave I will give you several packages of stickers so everyone can have a shot.........Just think, if 10 OR members get on the highlights page with Iron Pony stickers that is $500 in gift cards. That would off-set the fuel costs of the trip nicely!
  17. Awards presented at 3pm Outdoor swap meet booths $40. Please limit swap meet items to Motorcycles, vintage/used parts, literature & memorabilia. Rain or Shine www.events.ironpony.com www.jvmc.org
  18. One of the rider's family members came in the store today to pick up his car. I was asked to make this statement. The rider is resting in the hospital recovering form a dislocated knee and torn/detached ligaments. The rider does not have any broken bones. The rider is expected to make a complete recovery.
  19. Good times....did a few test rides today....sort of unannounced, just to get our feet wet and make sure it was going to be a good time for everyone this weekend. The bikes are running great and we have a really nice 1/2 hour course lined up and the weather is going to be perfect. Come on out, I promise you'll have a great time.
  20. See....there you go Tim, being the smart guy. They are going to ask you how long you have had your endorsement and are going to hope you give them an honest answer. Questions about how do I put it in "D" will also get you uninvited to ride one of the fast machines.
  21. Suzuki will only let you ride their high performance bikes GSX-R 600, 750 & 1000 + GSX1300R if you have had your endorsement for three years. Be forewarned.....if you came here "all the way from Alaska" to ride the Hayabusa and you earned your endorsement in 2011 they are not going to let you ride. You can ride any of their other models, just not the crazy fast ones. This is the policy of Suzuki's insurance company.
  22. Tim, come down and try everything. It is not about teasing yourself, it is about trying something new & different. I will probably try most of the bikes just to get a feel for the different dynamics of them.... If your not busy on the 19th or 20th I can think of very few things that would be more exciting than trying out a bunch of different Suzukis....spending the day riding, new, fresh, machines. Wearing out tires that aren't mine, burning gas I didn't pay for. I know what my bikes feel like, but it is always fun to swing a leg over something new. I promise you'll have a great time.
  23. I spoke to the Suzuki rep about why the 1250 is not on the list. His response was they are not bringing in any 2012 1250s into the US and they only have current machines on the truck. He went on to say that he does not think there has ever been a Suzuki demo in Columbus that offered GSX-R & Hayabusa test rides. If you have ever been curious about what it is like to ride one of these beasts now is your chance. May 19 & 20 Pony Powersports 9 - 6 Sat 10 - 5 Sun
  24. 05/01/2012 for immediate release Iron Pony Motorsports Group Inc. Press Release Pony Powersports Group Welcomes Kawasaki Motorcycles and ATVs. May is the unofficial start of the motorcycle season in central Ohio and the perfect time for Pony Powersports Group to announce the addition of Kawasaki Motorcycles and ATVs. Locally owned Pony Powersports Group is quickly becoming one of the top motorcycle dealerships in the nation. Their enthusiasm, dedication and expertise have earned the praise and devotion of riders looking to fulfill their motorcycling wants and needs. Kawasaki fans will now have the opportunity to experience the award winning sales and service of Pony Powersports. This is a lifelong dream for Cory Atwood, Chief Financial Officer of Pony Powersports Group and Iron Pony Motorsports. He was a 16 year old motocross racer riding a Kawasaki when he joined Iron Pony 22 years ago. There is pride when he talks about bringing together a couple of things he deeply cares about. Cory’s enthusiasm for Pony Powersports and the Kawasaki brand are deep rooted. For Cory this isn’t just a business opportunity……It is life coming full circle. Kawasaki was founded as a ship builder in 1896. They started building motorcycles in 1954 and entered the US market in the mid-sixties. In less than ten years Kawasaki was firmly established as a leader and innovator in the US motorcycle market having introduced the Z1 in 1973. This bike burst through the established performance ceiling of street motorcycles and indicated the future direction for Kawasaki’s efforts. Today Kawasaki continues this course, with an unquenchable thirst for performance and engineering excellence. This passion has made Kawasaki a favorite among motorcyclists.
