  1. Filtering isn't a commonly used term in the west... must be an Ohioism.
  2. So true. I grew up/learned how to ride in the Bay Area. For me, lanesplitting is second nature. In fact, I have to remember NOT to do it in Ohio. It has an element of danger to it but the cagers are used to it. Just don't ride like a complete twat. Nobody pays attention to the CHP's speed recommendation for lanesplitting, including the police. In fact, I've had CHP motorcycle officers yield and wave me past at speeds of 65+. Having the ability to do this in California, along with reasonable year-round weather, (in comparison to Ohio) I didn't own a car for years. The traffic there is beyond stupid, but having a motorcycle allows you to bypass most of it. Although there is no law stating that you CAN do this, California has 2 vehicle codes to protect motorcyclists for lanesplitting. 1. Intentionally blocking or impeding a motorcyclist in a way that could cause harm to the rider is illegal (CVC 22400). 2. Opening a vehicle door to impede a motorcycle is illegal (CVC 22517). Not to mention doing this to a motorcyclist there may cause damage to your vehicle and or person. Because this does happen on a regular basis, the cagers really don't mess with the motorcyclists.
  3. If you bring a bib I'll let you sit on it.
  4. I'm planning on showing up. 11:45 sounds like a reasonable hour for a Saturday morning.
  5. SOLD! Thanks, MadKaw636. It was a pleasure doing business with you.
  6. I believe I will have it sold tomorrow. If it doesn't work out, I'll pm you.
  7. I don't think I've had a passenger in 9 years. "Get your own bike, bitch" is my usual response. Seriously though, I have no idea. I suppose I could put you on the back.
  8. Eh, skip the wedding. Tell em' you had to go see a man about a dog. Or that April 6th 2013, only happens once in a lifetime.
  9. I would be interested in a Buell 1125CR.
  10. That's about the average price for one nationwide. MSRP was (no bells and whistles) was $14,300. ABS+ESA+Sport wheels pushed it up to $16,500. Add luggage and a couple widgets, you got close to $18,000 in 06'.
  11. The K12R is a bit heavier than a VFR800, at 550 wet. And yes, there is an angry german inside the bike that tries to rip out your arms starting at 8k rpm. I really wanted a K13R, but who knows if BMW will ever import it. Not to mention that I refuse to pay 18k for a motorcycle.
  12. If you squint really hard, you barely notice the gaps.
  13. So far, I've been rather impressed. Once you get moving, it doesn't feel as big as it looks. I've only had it for 6 weeks. Picked it up in Houston, and rode it to Canton. I haven't had the weather/road conditions to feel comfortable pushing it. Not to mention challenging the well used crusty pilot powers that are on it. I need to swap the rear 190/50 for a 190/55 to improve turn-in. Obviously, it's not the ideal bike to attack goat trails with... but it's incredibly stable. You notice the weight of the bike with transitioning in switchbacks, but I just throw my fat ass around to compensate. The Hossack derived front gives more feedback than I thought it would, yet is compliant enough for crappy Ohio roads. All hail ESA. Um... it handles better than an RD350?
  14. I can put my luggage on if it'll make you feel better, Nivin.
  15. I was riding in Tuscarawas, Carroll, and Columbiana counties weekend before last. There is still some nasty crap on the roads. I'm hoping we'll get a good rainstorm in before April.
  16. I remember you saying something like that last year and wishing I had race leathers on. Count me in as a maybe, if the weather is halfway decent.
  17. I'm still looking for the matching helmet!
  18. As for myself, I had to have a custom one piece race suit made as I am not an off-the-rack bastard. The quality you'll get is far better than anything you can buy in a store, not to mention having a perfect fit. Yeah, I had to pay a pretty penny for it, but after 12+ years of ownership it's still in great shape. I can't say that about any other piece of gear I've owned.
  19. Price lowered. $3000 obo.
  20. I got a new toy, Nivin... a K1200R. I'll be out this summer.
  21. I'll probably be selling my TL in another month or two. :/
  22. I have a 2003 RC51 I'm getting ready to sell. This is the SP2 version. It has 28,4xx miles, recently rebuilt forks and fairly new Pilot Power 2ct's. Runs great. The bad, it has a couple of dents in the tank and the upper fairing isn't pretty. It's about due for a new chain as well. The previous owner lowsided on it... only cosmetic damage to the fairings, no frame damage. It has Jardine cans + the stock cans, power commander, frame sliders, and a few other bits. I have too many bikes, and one has to go. I'll be giving it a wash and going over it this weekend. I just wanted to get the ball rolling. $3500obo. I feel this is fair for the condition/mileage. I have a CLEAN Ohio title in hand. PM me for details/more pics/etc... thanks.
  23. That would be the K1200R.
  24. The K1300r has been approved for 2013 EPA emissions. BMW dealers still won't or can't say if it's coming. The list includes all 2013 motorcycles that have been cleared... if you're interested in any other bikes. www.epa.gov/oms/cert/documents/cert-tst/13-mc-ctrr.xls
