Yeah, I was being facetious. I'm a firm believer in ATGATT, and it bothers me to see so many riders in Ohio wearing nothing more than a wifebeater, shorts, and some sneakers... or flip-flops.

This ride sounds good to me. I'm in. I'll be at the Minerva Marathon before 9:30 on a RC51, provided I'm not hungover Saturday morning. Although I haven't joined a OR group ride before, I am an experienced rider who is capable of not riding like a complete twat.

I'm on to my second set of Pilot 2ct's on my RC in the last 12 months. I managed to get 7k out of the rear, even with my fat ass. The front had some life left but wasn't going to last much longer, so I replaced them both last month. In my opinion, I wish the 2ct gave a little more feedback. On the other hand, they have been very predictable and work well for the type of roads available to me in NE Ohio. No issues in the wet either. I've been paying about $250 online for a set of 120/70 17 and 190/55 17.

I've used the mushroom shaped plugs for years without issue. Although it is not recommended, I've left them in when money was tight. I can say that I had a rope style plug work it's way out before.

I've used photo mounting spray and Elmer's craft-bond for similar applications. DO NOT use a high strength spray adhesive like 3M Super 77 or Super 90. Whatever adhesive you decide to use, test it on an inconspicuous area. I can't guarantee that it won't damage/remove your paint.

BMW USA didn't import the K1300R to the states. When BMW increased the engine size, they quit selling the K1200R here. You would need to settle for a used 1200, or look for a K1300S and convert it to R trim.

Honda makes a "helmet fresh" spray. I hear it works well, although I haven't tried it myself.

Plastic parts are chrome plated either by metal vapor deposition, or by appling electroless copper solution, then chrome plating over the top. You can try media blasting the parts. Walnut shells seem to work best. Glass and sand seem to be a bit harsh on plastic. Harbor freight has a small spot sandblaster for around $20, as long as you have an air compressor. Start off with lower air pressure and increase until you get the desired affect. Masking off the areas where it has already peeled off would be a good idea.

I worked at the Apple campus just before I moved to Ohio, you can't smoke on Apple property whatsoever. You have to do the walk of shame clear out to the street reguardless of your building. If you don't, you may be reported to your supervisor. Your co-workers will also treat you like a leper. Shunned for commiting sucide, causing global warming, crap like that. In the 80's, Apple let people smoke in their cubicles, go figure.

I have a Knox back protector I've been using for about 10 years now, and it's still in great shape. The newer ones look far more comfy, it may be time for an upgrade.

The aqua box should solve your problem with still being able to use the touch screen. And the mounting solutions seem to be the best I've found thus far.
