  1. Might try to head to oshay this weekend. I may take a little break from alum for a bit. Oshay is just to close. Especially since I pass over it to get to alum.

When I fished oshay this year while a tournament was going on it seemed as though every single person was flipping the bank. I assume it was due to the high water. As the water level continues to fall am I looking to go deep? How much structure is there deep at oshay? The only thing that came to my mind was the somewhat deeper point at twin lakes. Should I still look to flip the bank as well?

  2. The 6.0 really isn't a bad motor. It just needs some preventive maint issues taken care of to be a solid diesel. I was very leary to even look at 6.0's when I was looking at diesels, but I started reading forums and watching youtube vids and decided the issues could easily be delt with and I could do them myself. I've been problem free with my 04 6.0, I've towed/hauled a bunch of stuff and driven it all over the place. I've really came to like it.

Though a 7.3 is at the top of most any diesel put in a truck, its why they are holding their value better than any diesel out there for its age and they go quick when a nice one comes up forsale. Be prepared for a nice "lower mileage" 7.3 to be in the high teens to low 20K price range.

If your looking at a truck older than 5 yrs go south or west, those trucks are so damn clean underneath, just not too close to the coast!

The 6.0s ran great if egr is deleted. You are likely to not have 90% of the problems. The other thing I noticed about 6.0s is they don't like to be babied. If you run them hard they have less issues. Keep the idle time to a min as well.

went and looked at an 09 cummins. i think from now on, all negotiations will be done over the phone. not so worried about gas as i am my time. drove an hour and a half only to have a 1k knocked off the price. whoopie. i think i need either a private seller or another strategy. making a purchase never use to be this damn complicated.

Car dealerships don't deal like they used to. With all the online shopping they are already priced very competitively. The days of 4k of asking price are gone. Also I meant to tell you about the truck you sent me the link on. If you are interested you need to move fast with that dealership. They don't hold inventory long out there

  3. Alum only

No, I would love to learn oshay as well since it is closer to me than alum but the mud is always a discouragement. Alum has just been a challenge to me lately. I can fish alright in southern and northern states but have no luck in any Ohio waters.

I know you are on OGF, do you have a better idea?

  4. Usually get out at 6 and fish until dark. Last night I stayed until 11 hoping the top water would light up but it didn't. Alum is so crazy on the weekends I feel like the boat traffic keeps them down deeper until late. I haven't had any luck shallow.
  5. I have been fishing alum creek a lot lately with little luck. Other than going to the dam and catching two little small mouth ever trip I haven't caught shit until trolling last night. I hook into two saugeyes. I hate trolling and have no use for saugeyes. I don't eat fish and just catch and release. Usually target bass. I have a bass boat but no knowledge of alum. I just got a lowrance HDS 7 touch. I am trying to locate structure and eventually get on the bass. Anyone have any tips? I'll be more than happy to take someone out who knows the lake and would be willing to help train me.
  6. Lb7's are not bad motors at all. The injector issues aren't what people make them out to be. In the end I think duramax's are too expensive to maintain, more parts too go wrong, and a pain to work on. I prefer my Cummins engines. The race truck has 212k mikes on it and I just looked at the cylinders and they look new. The daily truck has 278k miles and is just now having one injector with return issues. Both trucks have had regular maintenance and very little work past that. The only real expenses were a replacement injection pump on the race truck before going mechanical, front end on the daily, and built transmissions in each.
  7. Why is the 262k mileage figure an estimate?

Because I couldn't remember exactly whe. I posted it. Exactly miliage is 263,508

    Is this a DOD car?

Ever have any work done? I know LS cars are reliable but man thats a fuck-ton of miles LOL

No DoD that I know of. No work done that I am aware of other than basic maintenance.

  8. can you send Jenn a link and tell her to buy this for me? no realyl can you

So far my track record with suggesting purchases like this with women isn't great. I usually prefer the suprise method.

This goes on craigslisg this weekend. Looking for a fast sale. Thanks for all the possitive feedback.

  9. I have no personal experience with japan, but I do know that I have heard nothing bad about people getting stationed there. I know some that loved it and stayed. I know that when I first got out of tech school, everyone who got stationed overseaas got to pick what base they went back to when they returned to the states so that's a plus. A few went to Hawaii even. The last thing I would worry about is a car. There will be plenty of time to work that out when you get there. I know some wife's that were easily placed in work due to speaking English alone though.
  10. Forgot about that. No real rust. It has a couple little chipped spots that are rusty and some bubbling around the rear wiper arm. All has been unchanged in the last 4 years.

It also does t have two tears in the leather on the driver seat which I suppose is to be expected with the age

  11. Sorry for the shifty pics, my phone updated to new software and the camera sucks now.

  12. Selling my 02 Tahoe

    262,xxx miles (ballpark figure)

    5.3L

    4x4

    Leather

    Third row seating

    Towing package with brake controller

Very nice vehicle considering age and mileage. This was my family vehicle that the wife drove up until last November. Ran great until the transmission went out. I was very busy with work, kids sports, and pregnant wife and I did not have time to pull the transmission and rebuild so I bought my wife a bigger Yukon to replace it with the plan of rebuilding the trans and installing a plow to replace my Bronco since I liked the Tahoe so much. Since then I have purchased another truck that came with a plow installed so I no longer need either one. Just last week I finally dropped the pan to inspect and found gobs of clutch material confirming it needs a rebuild. I have already done a few performance transmission builds this year and with others on the list to do in the near future I am tapped out and don't have interest. I have 2 young kids and a newborn in the house and don't have the time. I am selling this as is. I want $2500 the way it sits. Someone can easily throw a 4l60 in it for under 1k and have this at a good deal. It will drive forward onto a trailer but has no reverse.

I keep looking at it wanting to keep it and eventually fix but already have too many vehicles at my house and no use for it once I do.

  13. Have you ever looked into what it takes to get "licensed"? I know plenty of licensed installers. Usually they are home inspectors as well, and I wouldn't feel good about them inspecting my dog house.
  14. +100 on scam. That shit is so dumb. You have survived this long without radon systems where you lived right? Your parents and so on? Radon didn't just now appear around people. Save your damn money. I go into so many people's houses that have one of these systems and a sealed sump pump to seal the system air tight, only to find a sump pump pit on the other side of the house that isn't sealed and rendering the system useless.
  15. Then they aren't seated correctly. Other than freezing, the only time I have seen a new shark bite leak is when installed wrong. Make sure not to cut the o ring when installing and move it around as you push to get it to seat all the way. If you aren't sure, hold the fitting up to the pipe and Mark the full engagement spot before installing. The. You will know when it is on all the way.
