  1. Even with young eyes, it is impossible to have the target and front and rear sites in focus at the same time. You should focus on the front site and both the target and the rear sight will be a little fuzzy. Once you get old enough to need reading glasses, even this will be difficult. The red dot site will fix this, but it is kind of cumbersome for a carry gun. Big white dots on the sites help. For target shooting, try some weak reading glasses. I usually shoot two-handed, but if you try one-handed you will usually find that you can see the sites better since they will be a bit farther away. Getting old sucks.

  2. If you have your Concealed Handgun License you can leave the loaded gun in your car all the time. If somebody breaks into your car and steals it, you can report it to the police and your insurance company. If you have the gun all locked up, it is unlikely that you will be able to get to it quickly in an emergency. If somebody steals my gun, I will buy another one or use one of my "spares".

  3. As one of the people who is expected to work beyond age 65 so that we can afford to pay for public union employees to retire with pension and health care after 20 years and can't be fired even when they are lazy or incompetent, I will be voting for issue 2.

  4. I'm a regular old fart dad and I asked my kids for fresh family portraits of them and their families for father's day. As far as gadgets go, I recently got a Kindle e-reader and like it a lot.

  5. Not being a sports fan, this whole thing confuses me. The college players help make the various universities bazillions of dollars, but if they accept a free ride or a free beer (or sell a ring), suddenly they are pariahs. This sounds like a real deal if you are the college. If you are a player - not so good.

  6. I like the Pinlock visor on my RF-1100. It's very good at preventing fog. I wish they either made a darker Pinlock insert or else had a dark shield that could accept the Pinlock insert instead of only clear. That said, it is still the best thing I have found.

  7. If you are reloading lots of handgun ammo, you will want a "progressive" press like those made by Dillon and others. Life is too short to do these on a single stage press. I have a Dillon 550 that I have been using for years and years. There are both cheaper and more expensive models. Once set up properly, you can literally turn the crank to make quality ammo. For small amounts of precision rifle ammo, the Dillon-style progressive press is probably overkill and maybe even a negative.
