  1. I felt much of the same issues out of the B8 S4. Rubbery and the clutch action just didn't feel natural, I just couldn't get into a groove with it like I usually do with a car. The DSG felt much better in the chassis, and made it feel "lighter" and more alive. Blips the throttle, and feels great. Favorite thing to do was grab 2nd and spin her around round-abouts. With the sport diff, you could hold it all day, so much fun.
  2. It's worth trying, you may hate it, but it's worth finding out before you buy. If you ever mod, they hold up a bit better to mods as well, vs swapping out a clutch at some point.
  3. Draco, FWIW, I drove the DSG & 6MT B8 S4's back to back several times @ MAG and still ended up buying the DSG. I thought it fit the chassis much better vs a smaller car with a 6mt. The 6mt clutch and shifting left something to be desired IMO. I'm a die hard 6MT guy as you know, but if I had it to do over, I'd still get the DSG. Flash/Pulley and she went 12.3 @112. Not bad for a 28mpg awd V6. That pop during shifts never gets old, ever.
  4. 200% more fun around corners... Drive one hard in dymanic with and without it. Oversteer on demand.
  5. PS: get the sport diff or you will regret it later.
  6. Wrong thread. Bankrupt Motorcars is 3 pages ago.
  7. Yup, nothing to it. I've been maintaining the TTRS in house. It has about 25 torx screws of 3 different sizes to remove the plastic and metal pans. I'd imagine the s5 would be much easier.

BG380, small, decent to shoot, and been very reliable.
  9. S5's in general depreciate far slower than the rest of the lineup minus R/RS. I knew a guy who bought a very early S5 and was able to unload it years later for more than he owed on it easily.
  10. You won't be disappointed in the 3.0T regardless...
  11. Bear in mind they ended up dropping the V8 S5 option completely in '12 or '13. The S5 with the 3.0T is a great choice, more power, huge economy gains, and the ability to do a pulley/tune and run low 12's on an otherwise stock car. The 3.0T is quite the motor, in a Q5 with pulley/tune, it pulled a 12.7. Quite the little sleeper.
  12. How has your C5 A6 been so far? I had an 03 2.7T years ago and it was a problem child, but I always loved that body style. The 04's got an upgraded torque converter, and slight bump in power.
  13. Get a 3.0t model and you will very happy. The v8 is meh imo. Really no major issues to speak of honestly.
  14. Seen this car out plenty of times at various events. Well prepped and cared for car. Next owner will be very happy.
  15. Derek, did you ever get my Text(s)?

  17. First old vette I've seen in a while that I thought, damn, I'd drive that.
