  1. Ok, on a more serious note...the way you describe this hole riding experience scares me...

3 hours on a bike - too much gas in a curve, "the body heals itself", no insurance, no gear....

man, don't worry about fixing the bike! Get your MSF class, your gear, insurance and THEN think about getting back on it.

  2. So i just bought a 2007 GSX-R 750 a couple nights ago, in a matter of three hours i laid it on it's left side pretty bad. I was making a left hand turn, in the middle of the turn i gave it too much gas and the back tire kept going straight and i fell on my left side, bike drug me for about 15 feet and ive got some serious bike rash on the left side of my body. Not really worried about myself the human body repairs itself...bikes however do not. The rear left tail light is hanging out along with the plastic piece that has the 750 part which is hanging by the lock wire. The bike is leaking anti-freeze and oil:( good news is i found the cause of the anti-freeze leak. I don't know what the part is called exactly so I'll post pictures and try to describe it the best way i can. The piece thats leaking the anti-freeze is round in shape. It has a thick black tube that goes from the intercooler to the round metal part thats leaking anti-freeze, Then from the leaking part another hose goes from there to the engine. I know thats a horrible way to describe it but i need someone to tell me what part this is. I've already taken out of the bike. I found a crack that I'm 90% sure its where the oil is leaking from. Also where the clutch petal is screwed into the frame of the bike has snapped off, bike still shifts gears it just needs to be welded back into place. There are also two hoses that are disconnected that im not sure where they go, Ive been looking for a service repair manual online but i cant seem to find one. Can anyone help me out?

umh....I would like to know the physics of that...

  3. You'd of prolly saved it if you were on the liter. The 750s are known for going down on the first day. Especially the Blue/White ones. Not really sure why....

    Awesome. I like your style.

Only if you already have existing coverage. I can buy a bike and my insurance will cover it' date=' but that's because I already have a bike policy. The "30 day rule" is for transferring coverage.[/quote']

:asshole: hahahaha...had to use this one, could not find the rofl smile....

  4. I believe it is generally accepted within the English language to use the masculine form when referring to a group of both genders. Or so it used to be...

In any event you were indistinguishable from the "guys" when blasting the curves...LOL

Hahaha...yes, when I went through the rider coach training I was the only girl with 13 guys...they farted, belched etc around me and when I asked if they had noticed that there was a girl around I heard the phrase "you're not a girl, you're one of the guys" ...

  5. Wow Nick - still paying on your birth.. how old are you?

Accidents and Insurance aside I had a pretty good time though it was extremely hot in my leathers. I was part of the group that got separated. I went on home before they re-grouped. Hopefully someone told you as I mentioned it to a couple of guys before we started back.

My skills are extremely lacking on the twisties. I was quite impressed with most of the guys.

If it wasn't for that damn baby giving me the finger every time it went by I might not have felt so bad at being near the end.

I enjoyed placing the faces with the names!

    ...guys.....AND GIRLS...thank you very much....:D

  6. CbrBrent on here is a prime example of this, he just got done paying the Life flight charges. His wife was learning to ride and got run off the road by a car. A bystander called it in as a motorcycle crash and being a rural community the chopper was sent too. It was not needed but was sent and he had to pay and pay dearly.

EMS is needed many times on a bike crash, just think before you call to make sure it is the best option and if so plan your call... say its an ATV accident not motorcycle and be as descriptive as you can on injury and what parts of the body were hit so maybe they will hold off on chopper dispatch till EMT's are on scene for assesment.

Thanks for the pointer...that is good to know.

  7. Isn't that what we have insurance for, though? Ive never been life flighted, but I did get taken in an ambulance a couple of years ago. All I paid out of pocket for that, two nights in hospital, and everything was $100.

Not everyone has health insurance, I know, but my bike insurance also has medical coverage.

I am with you on that.

I guess I will just ask someone if he has that kind of insurance b4 I call the ambulance. ;)

  8. Well, an ambulance prevented my death when I was six. Had a ruptured spleen after a car wreck and made it to the hospital with only minutes to spare...no bloodpressure or pulse palpable...pulled through...I am thankful I am here. And yes, my friend died IN the ambulance.

I guess what I am saying is that someone would die in front of me and I had not done something about it, I would have to live with that for the rest of my life.

Hell, why am I ranting on trying to convince a bunch of hardcore :p guys - I am a woman, and I will always think A LITTLE different than you all - since I am from the wonderful planet VENUS and you guys are from the strange planet MARS!!!!

  9. Quote: Then you you do that, cops get involved, you have to pay for a ticket and your liscense gets some nice points on it. If it were me, I wold not have wanted cops there.Quote

I understand what you are saying, but seriously? Where do you draw the line? You call the ambulance when you see him missing limbs? Or are you worried about the cops, more specifically, a ticket and points, then too?

Like Gib said, internal injuries cannot be seen. A friend of mine crashed on his bike and all he complained about was his broken leg, 20 minutes later he was dead from internal bleeding. :(

I mean seriously mine or anybody elses life is worth more than a ticket or points on my license. :nono:

  10. Got back about 20 minutes ago....was truly awesome and rather eventful! Gibby just left to the hospital to check on the last guy that went down. Hopefully he will be ok. We waited another hour until the trailer showed up, then they left and when the four of us that were left wanted to leave, the Buell would not start...

So, we had a great time and after 2 down (one slightly hurt and the other one to hopefully be ok), a dead bird, lost spring of a sidestand, a bike that would not start, endless amounts of sweat, lots of adrenalin and new friends, I am glad to be back home! Phew! :D

    Thanks Guys!!!

  11. Alright, I guess some got my suggestion confused with bitchin'. I really don't give a rats a$$ how you guys do it. I am down either way.

NinjaNick, thanks for putting this together, like I said before I am excited to go!!!

It was just a suggestion b/c anyone who has done it should know that the dynamics in a huge group and with cruisers and sportbikes is different than small groups and if you keep them in different groups.

Plus, someone said in here that they had not seen a lg group like that going to this. So I was just wondering if someone had thought of splitting it up.

Now stop talking out of your a$$ - if you don't like reading what I write, go read somewhere else!! :D

  12. Just food for thought. In our riding group in Germany we used to split up the sportbikes and the cruisers and we had no more than about 12 bikes in a group. That was done for safety reasons, to be able to stay together (traffic lights, intersections) and obviously different riding styles/speeds etc. Usually we would have roadcaptains for each group and they would lead the way. There was a meeting spot we agreed on where we would all meet up again.

Just my 2 cents for a group ride. :)

Really looking forward to the ride btw.

Went for a few hours last night and I thought I would die of a heatstroke...that's what you get for wearing ATGATT! :-) Had fun nonetheless! :D

  13. Hi, you don't really GIVE bone marrow. They draw blood from you and identify your parameters and then put the info in a database. If someone needs bone marrow, they will run his parameters through the system and try to find a match.

I was in a database in GErmany for 7 years and only one time they contacted me telling me that I might be a match for someone but they would have to run further detailed testing. Then a few weeks later, they wrote me a letter saying one of the parameters was not a match. And it truly has to be a 100% match.

I can write more later but I gotta go to work now. :-)

  14. I'm calling BS on the eating smaller meals more often... theoretically, yeah its great, boosts your metabolism, blah blah blah, but my gosh it makes me REALLY hungry, and god forbid i actually miss one of those small meals, my stomach goes crazy! I'll keep with my bagel and coffee for lunch and big dinner routine. :p

Is that what I have to do to look like you???

  15. I need to start taking snacks to work. I don't eat all day and then chow from the minute I get home. Wife gets tired of walking back and forth to the kitchen, making me sandwiches.

Really? So if your wife quits bringing you stuff, I guess you will lose the weight!!! So the real problem is your wife catering to you!!!
