I just looked @ my Wife's card from '07, and printed on the reverse it says one must present the card and temp permit to the Deputy Registrar within 60 days to get the endorsement. We were told that the card would be the only record of her having completed the course...

I leave the subject alone, unless someone asks me a question or for advice. I generally have an idea where people stand, and unless you already know I shoot/carry there is no reason for you to know. My Wife and I come from two very different worlds and upbringings...She does not like guns, but has come to accept their validity as a tool. Eventually she approached me to teach her how to handle a firearms, and is a very impressive reaction shooter. She still does not like them, but admits she feels safer when I am carrying.

CHL only grants you the permission to CCW legally. No permission to shoot anyone or kill anyone. One can only use it to "stop" someone from harming ones' self or another innocent. Draw your weapon and fire/shoot someone and you'll most likely be going to jail and defending yourself in court (not with a gun, though). It's a reality that one must understand and accept if going to CCW. The first two vehicles likely at the scene of any violent crime are an ambulance and an police cruiser...Choosing to defend yourself at least gives you some input as to which one you may be leaving in.

Not trying to be argumentative, but I've not seen any foot stomping...Only folks commenting that they are willing to abide by the new law and not CCW where it has been prohibited.

I do when I plan on specifically going somewhere where CCW is prohibited...In this case, I do not plan on going to particular establishments. So one should only carry if they are going somewhere or doing something in which they know they'll need it? Would be better just to avoid those places. As a motorcyclist, you should only wear protective gear when you know you are going to crash. LOL...You sure type a lot for someone who doesn't care.

Exactly. Which is better? Securely in the possession of one who can meet the legal prerequisites to CCW, or those that break into vehicles? Of course, that begs the sign question again. I'll print up some "Do Not Break Into This Car" signs, and the problem will be moot.

Seeing as how I have proclivity for spite, bolstered in this case by the fact that do not drink at all, I will gladly take my business elsewhere when proprietors deem it necessary. Dubious that it will it make a difference to anyone’s bottom line, but it will satisfy my constitution.
