The price here is the 'friend-price'...Basically what I could have reasonably received less consignment fees through a decent shop. An exercise in letting go and moving on, but I guess I'd rather get this over with quickly...

However reluctant, I believe I am ready to part with this guitar. I have had it for 20 years, but have not played it for the last several… Way better feel and quality than any other Made in Japan Strat. Not necessarily rare, but I have never seen another in person. Lever-lock at the nut: Trem. Bar has hex keys to adjust saddles, bridge height and neck micro-tilt: This is in very good condition, especially for a 27-y.o. guitar. There is a chip on the bottom edge near the strap peg and some reasonable buckle wear on the back. Test rides OK. From eBay Guides: $400. Includes a hard-case and stand.

Got away from playing several years back when I was on the road all the time with work. Got rid of all my gear, except for one guitar which I am considering putting on the market as well. Tried to get back into it, but it's gone...I've held onto these couple of things hoping it would come back, but I am just into too many other things anymore.

...Not to mention any small, rural communities you may have to pass through. If the people pull together, one may have to "pay the toll" to get through on the road.

As already mentioned by others: Most probable: unprepared neighbors. Major earthquake, tornado ‘outbreak’, hurricane (remember Ike—I guess we’re not completely immune in Ohio), infrastructure breakdown, etc… An extended interruption of electricity/fuel/food supply due to either nature (ala Katrina) or an act of terrorism is wholly possible. Seems like most city folks are unprepared to do without for any period of time. The people around me who may become desperate for food and water concern me most. I grew up way out “in the country” and camp a lot, so a couple of weeks without power is no big deal. Anything bigger and I am heading back to the prairie. Ammo stockpiles are for any disruption of shooting supplies. The range is very therapeutic.
