  1. NO KIDDING!

My next purchase(s) are a shotgun (not sure which yet, but leaning toward a Mossberg 500) and a .22 rifle for plinking.

PLEASE GO REMINGTON 870.... Mossburg drives me nuts over the years. Steel internals racking against aluminum receivers.... nothing but tore up metal over a couple years of heavy shooting

  2. Is this gonna be one of them gun treads gone wrong?

If Ringo is a young kid in to fire arms, maybe we should point him in good directions, training tips, suggest ranges or training programs and spend less time busting his balls. .... OK we bust his balls a little. "gun"? Seriously, I got a safe of firearms, only 2 "guns" an 870 and a lil stevens .410. Ok that's outta my system. .... As long as he don't call a mag a clip.

  3. Thanks Matt. With any luck the only bikes in the shop here are mine, the wife's or my kid's. I want the bikes to be on the road, not waiting in my shop. The Kat is gonna be here for a week or 2 due to a cash flow problem of the owner getting the parts. I got no problem with a couple weeks, its the over a year bike like the TL1000 that get on my nerves.

  4. Thinking of staying nakid for the year and using spare time on my CB750 project... Been too damn busy with other peoples toys and the chopper to work on my primary bike. Getting rubber on it tomorrow and hope to have it all knocked out, oil change, new front brakes pads and on the road by monday.

  5. Option 3: Keep the bike naked' date=' but install a single round head lamp, bar end mirrors and powder coat the fork tubes black.[/quote']

I'm likely going to black out the lower forks.... I have a round light but still dig my 4" duals. I tried the bar ends before and did like the look but did not care for how well the worked in traffic.

  6. Thats what I dont like about my Gen 2. Too much pullback. Did you need longer brake lines to run those?

nope, all stock lines and it works great. BUT! I know the gen 2 has higher risers and a lower bar. May or may not work for you. A big plus to that bar was vibration reduction too. It's alot thicker and made from aluminum vs steel bars, was easy to tap them for the stock bar ends.

  7. Now that I got time to work on MY bike I have been thinking...

I put alot of miles on my 2004 Gen 1 FZ1 and due to my recent exeriance with modding and building body panels I have been batting around the idea of putting my bike back to the oringinal upper fairing, building side-lower-belly plasics and seeting up a rack for my soft panners and a Pelican case on the tail. More of a touring bike. OR Should I be happy and toss on my soft bags and backpack?

    now...

  8. Really not gonna be a true Streetfighter. No proformance mod's, frame mods, Just a simple, clean, nakid bike.

Here is where I started. It's a friend of a friend's wife bike. the guy gave it to her after getting a BlackBird 1100 and spent the last few years basshing up this Kat. Poorly maintained, ugly paint, dropped, bent and JB welded parts... list goes on.

He want's it ready for his wife to ride in a few weeks and I'm a retard so I tell him I can do something with it. This guy just beats up bikes but I got to meet his wife, I broke it down to her, told her about the streetfighter concempt and she was all in. She just wanted to keep it on the mild side and leave it a 2 up bike.

    Here's where I went...

new head light & gauge mount.

old skool Honda FT500 tail glassed into chopped rear fairings.

Chopped what was left of the side/ uppr fairing and got this far.

My little streetfighter-nakid bike upper from chipped parts ans fiberglass.

  9. Let's face it. When we remove a stock fender and move the plate we're asking LEO (Like me) and every one else to look twice. For other bikers if to get a "hey that looks cool" But Patrol cops on trafic duty, any thing that draws attention can be taken as "resonable suspicion" or "probable cause" to initiate a trafic stop. DAC, is right to post the heads up. Come up around my way when and if our lay off end and I get back out of jail division and back on patrol, I may stop you... But I have made stops on bikes just to say "Man, I had to stop you cause I gotta get a better look at your sweet bike!" I never got anything from the guys I stopped other than a laugh, a great tour of the bike, invites to go ride when I get off shift & even free beer.
