  1. Please don't get me wrong...I love guns. Pistols, rifles, shotguns, you name it. At one time, I had 8 pistols...had about $5k invested in them. I also fully support the right to carry. I choose not to because I've never been in a situation where I thought I'd be "safer" if I was carrying. You may call that being naive...but tables turned, I call people that carry paranoid.
  2. Metaphors protect people and save lives? Wow! Now I'm really confused.
  3. In your sig, you speak of a lamb being well armed. How is he well armed?
  4. I don't have my CHL. I had the certificate, but its expired now. I just never had enough desire to go get it. As for what hand I use...that would be the left. Have to have the right to move the computer mouse Lastly, if I was to carry, it would be a Mossberg 590A1 LE Special Purpose with 9 rounds of 00 buck. I wouldn't fuck around with some pea shooter!
  5. PB Blaster. Soak it. Do it a few days in a row. MAP torch heat it. Use a brake line wrench. Anti Seeze most likely won't help for the future...it'll burn off. Good luck buddy!
  6. I carry a smile, and a warm right hand that gives a firm handshake.
  7. Sounds like a whole lot of paranoia used to justify carrying a gun.
  8. That's shitty powdercoat...
  9. Performance Powder Coating just did an excellent job for me. Search my threads for info
  10. Some things seen cannot be unseen, and I'm a little sadder today because of it...
  11. He could, but I'd kinda like to do it myself or watch someone. The carriers will be easy, but I've got to be careful with the calipers so as to not blast in the piston bores. I'm going to pack the bores, and tape them as best as I can. I'm sure Fred could do it...I'd just feel better doing it myself/watching it done. That's all.
  12. I believe Hoblick its going to help me, but thanks for the offer. I don't need it done quick, but I do need it done quicker than that.
  13. Unfortunately, no. About the only thing I can recommend is to watch the job listings on the CSX webpage, and apply online every time you see Russell is hiring. If you know anybody that works out of that terminal, they might be able to tell you who to talk to...but I don't work south, and would have no idea. Sorry.
  14. 10yrs. in January. I was a conductor for 6yrs., and now an engineer. The pay between the two is not that much, but the engineers get a yearly bonus(contract difference). Last year was 12% of earnings, this year and next is 15%. Bonus is paid on a max potential based on how the company does as a whole. The two previous years we were paid full potential, and I don't see any reason we won't again for this year. It makes for a nice Christmas bonus in February!
  15. CSX.com. Russell Kentucky railroad yard is always hiring. If you're interested, check it out...or PM me your number and I can talk to you about it. It's not the best profession one could explore, but it's certainly not the worst. One a positive note, the railroads business is booming! Good luck with your search.
  16. Just asking to see if anyone local has a set-up that would be willing to help me with a small project. I don't expect the work done for free...hell, I'll even do it myself if you supervise/drink the beer I bring you. I bought a set of 2 piston Subaru WRX brake calipers to install on my Subaru L that only has single piston calipers. More importantly, the brake rotor size goes from 10.2" to 11.4". Eventually, I'll be converting my rear drums to WRX disks, changing the master cylinder and proportioning valve...and will basically have the complete WRX braking system. What I need help with is media/sand blasting the front calipers and caliper hangers/brackets. The brackets will be a piece of cake, just blast the whole thing. The calipers will be a little(but not much) more difficult. I already have the seals and pistons removed, and I was going to pack the bores with paper towels and tape them closed so as to not blast inside them. These items are not painted or powder coated, they're just rusted/dirty. My end plan is to paint them black with G2 caliper paint. If anyone can help, I'd be most appreciative!
  17. Wanted to thank max power for recommending Performance Powdercoat. Jason did a great job!! I'll post finished pictures when I can.
  18. Verizon, without a doubt. Never ever ever had a single problem. I don't ever see leaving them. I dropped my Droid X a month ago and they sold me the new Bionic for the same price as my "New Every Two", $249, even though I was only 8 months into my Droid X contract. I had to speak to a manager over it, and I had to send my X back, but that was fine by me. I'm more than satisfied.
  19. Read post 21.. And by "you", whom are you speaking?
  20. Dude, you're on a V-Strom...go straight, thru the grass, no need to "roundabout"!!
