  1. My bike ownership history is long and very varied. I have already had a few twins, a few triples and more than a few I4's as well as a couple of V4's. Right now I have no bike last owning a 05 GSXR750.... My "question" that I posted really sounds newbish and I should know the answers especially after 25 some odd years of riding motorcycles but sometimes it is easier from someone on the outside to look in and bring a different view to things. For fun....here is a list of what I have owned over the past 30 some years. Sure I will miss a few Starting in 1986.... Yamaha Radian Honda VFR 750 x 2 (1986,1987) Yamaha FZ750 x 2 Suzuki GSXR1100 (1987) Suzuki GSXR750 x 2 (1992,2005) Ducati 900ss x 3 (1991,1992) Yamaha RZ350 Triumph 955i Daytona Kawasaki S2 500 triple Yamaha FZR600 Kawasaki ZX9 (2001)
  2. with that suitcase full of beer behind the seat.....I would say yes!
  3. You look ready for adventure!! Enjoy the new ride!!
  4. I looked at the 1000 as well. Just could not justify the coin so I "settled" on a EXO 700 Predator and also purchased a smoke shield. Helmet fits like it was custom made for me. Between the helmet, Joe Rocket Super Ego jacket, Technic boots and JR gloves I think I did my part to help the economy. Oh......I also got a couple Fox ball caps and T-shirts....
  5. That RSV is a beautiful bike. I think I am a little to paranoid about parts and service availability to actually own one though. Is that silly?
  6. The black RC's are so damn sexy. All the ones I have come across have been over my measly budget....
  7. I also had a 955i Daytona. Didn't do much for me. Loved the engine but the chassis was a real let down. Felt like I was coaxing a truck through the turns. I do dig the 675 Daytona though.
  8. I have had MANY Ducatis.....They never did get me laid. Must have been me
  9. So as many of you know I have been looking for an RC51. I thought I had my mind made up and that was the bike I wanted. I know that the RC's comfort is not the best between the aggressive seating position and the side mount radiators cooking your legs but I was ok with that. I have ridden GSXR's for years and am used to ass high and hands low. Now I find myself looking at a 05 CBR1000 and think maybe that bike is a better choice for me due to the "plusher" ergo's and smoother ride. I am 44 years old after all and it would be nice to have an all day bike. So...... Pros..... RC51.....Awesome sound and punchy V twin. You don't see them on every street corner.... CBR1000.....Plush and bigger top end rush. A bike I could see myself riding to Boston for some Lobster and back. Cons... RC51.....Harsh ride and uncomfortable. Passenger comfort is non existent and the wife and I may want to 2-up but very infrequently. CBR....dime a dozen..... Thats the only negative I can come up with... I am really just thinking out loud here but if anyone has any thoughts......I am all ears.
  10. He really seemed like a decent guy so I am hoping he is just not good at ad writing. Ill give him the benefit of the doubt..........
  11. Interesting.....Thanks. I offered him $4,700 which was $300.00 less than the previous agreed upon price. I am thinking I am glad he turned it down....
  12. So give me the low down...... What do you know about the bike besides what I noticed?
  13. I just emailed them back on this bike. For some reason the mileage on the bike did not register with me.....4,000 original miles is nice
  14. I have seen those 2 on Craigslist....The first one is a 2001 SP1 and I really want the SP2. The second one is 260 miles away. There must be something closer. I did email him last week and got some better pictures. The bike looks really clean. It will need a PCIII to remap for the pipe but besides that it looks good to go!!
  15. LoL......Not even close to a picky nicky as you put it. I do expect a seller to disclose damage though. When the ad reads "looks great and has never been down" I do not expect to find a dirty bike with body damage......would you?
  16. In my opinion the bike was miss represented. Really pisses me off I drove to Columbus and came back empty handed. Here is a copy of the ad http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/1540051808.html So I see the seller pulling up with the bike in tow. Damn it looked so badass. First thing I notice is it is just plain dirty. Looks like it was ridden hard and put away wet. No excuse for that. As I start looking the bike over I see a bunch of touch ups on the upper fairing edge, right side. Ad says bike has never been down. I wonder how the edge of the upper is all chipped. Then I notice the right side lower has cracking starting from the upper middle bold and radiating an inch or two down.....now I am getting pissed. Couldn't the seller have told me this shit before I drove 3 hours to meet him?? I won't even get into the thin brake pads and grooved rear rotor.......
  17. I grabbed a few ball caps and t-shirts today...
  18. Did you ever get your jacket? I went back to try and deal on a new Scorpion helmet but they are holding at 50% of retail......Ill wait till Sunday and try again

    Cabela's

That KC Cabel's rocks. Really nice store! I spent a few hours in there a few years ago and was totally impressed.
  20. In my younger stupider days I blew past a radar cop at 160+. I saw him just as I passed where he was sitting in the median. Immediately I got on the binders and pulled to the shoulder and waited for him to show up. He lowered the speed down to 128 or what ever the maximum was without mandatory arrest. Very cool cop and I know it would have turned out much worse had I run and got caught. As it was I paid the fine and never heard another word about it.
  21. Another one here http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/1565443818.html
