  1. There is no additional fee for this event
  2. Think of it like the Price Is Right, you want to be as close as possible to the final price of your Showcase Showdown without going over or under. How you get there is up to you. We will go as far out as the time slip goes, if there is a tie, well I will have to look that up because I've never heard of that before.
  3. I've never heard of that before. I just know that the NMCA/NMRA/LSX True Street class is usually the biggest one at the event. The rules package seems to work overall. I'm still on the fence about the exhaust thing, I have not really heard any reason why not to keep cars out for that. I don't think Drag Week limits that and they don't have any issues.
  4. Video? More info on car?
  5. In 2014 we are looking to take our track days to the next level, and with the help of Jet Auto that will now be a reality! The spring track day will feature the Jet Auto True Street Challenge. This event will follow the NMCA True Street rules and will have trophies for the winners of the following indexes 15.00 14.00 13.00 12.00 11.00 10.00 9.00 There will also be trophies for quickest E.T., highest trap speed, and Best Reaction Time. Huge thanks to Jordan and Jet Auto for stepping up to sponsor this event and provide such great trophies. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d178/lt1wagner/IMG_0704_zpsc3c5d38d.jpeg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d178/lt1wagner/IMG_4798_zps067005a4.jpeg Rules and questions for the Jet Auto True Street Challenge can be found here: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117034 Look for additional announcements about the track day in the next few days…
  6. I can't fathom running for that long at full tilt.

Not had a chance to totally fact check this but at first glance, kind of scary. http://thetruthwins.com/archives/school-science-project-reveals-high-levels-of-fukushima-nuclear-radiation-in-grocery-store-seafood
  9. I agree with all of these points, but based on my experience in the media field, you need something like this for a "story". If I were doing the story I would 100% make the facts about known that you state above. The GTR is a smooth craft beer you drink to at a party full of smart people, the Z/28 is a shot of Jack Daniels you get in a dirty glass before you do stupid shit with your friends. Each has a purpose and does it damn well. I would love to see Ford and Mopar put something like this out and mix it up. Bring back the roots of Trans Am racing...
  10. Oh the hate for anything GM just flows, I love it. I guess if it was anything else that beat a GTR or was a one trick deal people would be fapping all over it After seeing the Z/28 in person, the car looks damn nice. The only thing I did not like about it is how the wheels just don't fill out the fenders enough, but its a function over form thing. Now, I'm not hating on the GTR, you would be a fool to deny it is an impressive machine. I would rock one with no fucks given. But for me, there is something about that Camaro/Mustang/Vette V8 feelz and sounds that I love. I have a soft spot for brutal cars.
  11. They also want 20K for that car... He might have been able to get things figured out with the car he wanted. The seller was making some stupid demands and dad had to explain to him those were not acceptable. Keep the leads coming just to be safe...
  12. My dad is looking for a 4th gen F-body rolling chassis. Must have: -At least a 10.00 certified roll bar, but will also look at stuff certified lower. -12 bolt or 9 inch rear end -Good amount of suspension done -Not be a hacked job mess Mini tub cars are okay. Would like to get something that has fuel system in place. Motor plate cars that can take a SBC are good too. If you have a car or know of one for sale let me know. He has cash in hand and is ready to go. Might also look at stock suspension G-body cars as well. He had the car he wanted picked out, but the seller is being difficult.
  13. I might take you up on that. I'm going to talk with the guys up at Midwest and see what they have to say.
  14. I'm looking at the Rode VideoMic Pro as a starting point since the wireless stuff is just batshit crazy expensive...
  15. I've been tasked with creating new videos for High Performance Pontiac magazine that will be used on their website. At some point they want me to start doing videos that have interviews in that and so on. Are there any CR people that have played around with audio/video type stuff? I have a rough idea on what is needed but this is a whole new world and I don't want to over buy or under buy on what I need. To start with I'm going to use my Canon 70D to get the video. Any local places to go talk with or purchase gear at? I know I will need a better mic, but outside of that it seems like an endless buffet of stuff that could or could not be used.
  16. Just google search Jeff Lutz and see the thread that comes up on Yellowbullet about the car he "built". EVERY shop makes mistakes, its how they recover from those mistakes that tells the story of how good they really are.
  17. Well I got tired of playing grab ass and had a very long talk with my editor today. I think the big issue was communication, and we have that fixed. I also now know what he is looking for and talking about. -The softness he was talking about is digital noise -Anything I turn in must: - be at a 100 ISO - F22 -I need to "flip my mirror" and use the infinity focus -Shoot multiple shots -Make sure I have good and multiple focal points -Have top level depth of field -ALL interior and under the hood shots must be done in the shade I feel better after talking with him and now knowing more of what he needs. He wants to help me and said I have unlimited potential. Now, was going to send me examples from another persons work until he looked at the metadata and realized his shots were much softer and worse One thing he totally loves is my video work. They want me to start doing video production for the magazine that includes racing and interviews AND they will pay me for the videos in addition to my other work :fuckyeah: I need to do some test shots so he can help me dial in what I'm doing more.
  18. I will post the example pictures I was sent. After looking at them I think I realized something, there is zero post process done to these, or at least very little. I'm starting to wonder if he does any type of touch up to anything that is turned in....
  19. I did crop the first one tight, that is just how I felt like doing it. I'm not worried about doing what everybody else is doing, unless I'm told it has to be done that way by the person who pays me. The one thing that does make me feel a bit better is the owner of the car loved the pictures, even if they did not make the print. I am learning more and more, if I was doing this to pay my bills I might think about buying one of those one trick kind of rigs, but the cost does not really make sense for me.
  20. I have the current issue my feature was in and I can't see what he is talking about. Now, the pictures I took of Mike's car are dark on the inside, but I did correct that issue.
  21. So, maybe I’m just stupid, confused, or both, but how do I make a picture “less soft” via shutter speed in aperture priority? At first I was told to lower my ISO, but when I explained it was already at 100 I was told to watch my shutter speed. At this point I am 100% lost and don’t understand the correlation in how to make a sharper picture. I had my ISO set at 100 and shot my F-stop from 2.8 all the way up to F22. Any help, links, information would be great so I can become a more “professional” photographer and suck less I guess
  22. Yeah, never shooting out of a Challenger again. That was a tight window to shoot out of to say the least. Next time I want to shoot out of a truck bed to give me a lot more range of motion.
  23. Well since the editor hated these and said they were all "soft" I uploaded them all. I sent him the raw images that were not edited, all of these were touched up in light room. I talked with another editor about my pictures and he saw nothing wrong with my work. He thinks that the "soft" reference is that my stuff does not look sharp enough. http://waggz.smugmug.com/Other/Rolling-Shots-2014/i-bxqXKmt/0/L/IMG_4308-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Other/Rolling-Shots-2014/i-DKr8dd7/0/L/IMG_4309-L.jpg full gallery
  24. So I guess this image and the others I took are "to soft" and can't be saved. Whatever, I'm over it and about to say fuck it. Trying to nail down what is "print quailty" is impossible...
