  1. I'm very interested in this especially CNC machining. Maybe even making a small business out of it. I got plenty of time and technical knowledge and been thinking of doing a complete DIY build after looking at several DIY kits.

There's so much out there that can be done with this. My little mind has been racing with ideas all day and as soon as I'm off work I will start building the printer.

  2. You literally said she's not being held accountable and I asked you what that meant in this context. Answer the question.

if you need your exact words here they are:

I really just skimmed your wall of condescending text, to be honest.

    You did say:

To me, that looks like you're providing an excuse. There's also been plenty of people on social media commenting that she didn't know any better, it was the company's fault, and so on, again, not holding her accountable for her actions.

What do I mean by accountability? She put something called GLUE in her hair without reading the label it appears. My wife and I watched the videos she posted on TicTok about it, it certainly sucks and I feel bad for her being in pain, but she clearly didn't read the label.

I understand people put glue in their hair like Elmers or other ethnic hair products, but I'm willing to be they read the label.

I guess I can't wrap my mind around the fact that someone would do this without reading the label or researching if it would work. That's why you'll never see people with common sense going viral for something this stupid.

  3. All my friends are using Fusion 360. It's free if you are using it as a hobby or make less than $100k (or something like that) from using the s/w. I just built a PC and downloaded it so I can work on other skills as well.

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

360 is free if you clear less than 1,000 per year and it's on my radar for sure. I might start with Tinkercad for basics and use Cura to do the slicing.

  4. I know there are people on here who dabble in this. I just bought an Ender 3 Pro last night and I'm going to jump right into this deal.

The way I look at it is I need to start building some new skills since my current field will die before I do. I can learn the software and process so I can learn how to CNC program too.

I've got a few ideas for things I want to make around the house and ultimately I want to start selling items. I also want to get a resin printer someday to make scale model car parts.

So who else prints and what do you use?

  5. It's possible to acknowledge that she made a mistake, a stupid one at that, and still have empathy for her.

    #normalhumanemotionsareOK

Never said I didn't have empathy for her. I've gotten various glues on my hands from mounting RC tires and building models, it sucks.

I'm still going hold the opinion that she's a total dumbass. I can only feel bad for someone to a certain point when they do something so stupid.

As discussed earlier in this post, its not uncommon for people use glue in their hair, it's been a home technique for people for a long time. Elmer's glue which is usually what is used also says don't put on skin, but people still use it.

What do you mean by not holding her accountable? How is she not accountable? and what does accountable mean to you anyway?

She seemed like she was in a good deal of pain, so she certainly isn't avoiding consequences. So to be accountable she should continue to be in pain until when? It's already cost her money too, so how is she not feeling the consequences? should she go broke from this?

So what does it mean that she's not "accountable"? Oh I get it, holding someone accountable means you get to call them dumb, laugh at their misery, and generally be an asshole to them. Unless you somehow have another definition here, then by all means, tell me what you think it means to be accountable?

If you response is to see someone in pain is to say "Ha ha, she dumb, fuck her" then you probably aren't a good person.

Never said any of that, that's what you're assuming and putting out there.

  6. If you're dumb enough to put glue on your head it's not the educational status of the region, you're just a stupid human that was raised by equally stupid people.

Have you ever actually looked at a bottle of Gorilla Glue? It says plain as day in big bold letters not to put it on your skin.

Honestly, I'm not shocked that people are doing everything but holding this mouth breathing fucktard accountable, it's America and it's what we do these days.

  7. you guys smell it?... *sniff sniff*

    jdp-awards-trio.png

The only thing I smell is the government's stank ass breath telling businesses what they need to do when there's no long term solution.

EVs are a great idea, but trying to rush all of this in without having the battery tech and power grid where it needs to be is going to be a problem. The "oh, we'll figure it out in time" answer doesn't hold water for me, I've seen that play out in the industry too.

We're all going to be driving EVs that look like what you see in Demolition Man at some point, just accept that.

  8. That's my thought, transition over instead of a flat mandate.

I could also see a 50/50 mix of very high efficiency gas and electric. Short commutes? Electric sure, far off travelers can stick to a very high efficiency gas car.

See, this makes too much sense for the government and some people to understand. It's all about what they think and if you don't fall into that mindset YOU'RE the problem.

A mixture of gas/diesel and electric cars would be much easier to roll out and when the tech is there go to a majority of electric vehicles.

Unless there are some legit and useful tech breakthroughs we're now on a slow ride to fucked town.

  9. Its a hot fucking mess.

Tell me about it, that state's stupid laws have made it impossible to use freelancers that are based there. I know of a few who moved just so they could continue to make a living writing.

The stuff I hear from the marketing guy at AFR is terrifying.

  10. The "Edelbrock Group" bought and dissolved Crane Cams too. Im sure it won't be the last bought up by them or the Holley Group.

Absolutely not. Holley is buying up companies that "do" things they currently don't to try and become a one stop shop.

They moved Racepac from CA because of the difficult business environment a few years ago.

  11. :(

It is what it is. I've been hearing stuff that was in line with this for a while but thought it was just wild rumors, now this confirms it.

Schumer said in 2019 he wanted no ICE cars made after 2035 and them to be totally outlawed by 2040, we're halfway there with this.

There's a racer that's a big wig a Georgia Power and this was brought up this weekend. Mind you, his company would profit huge if all cars were electric, his response to this was "good luck, capacity isn't even close, the government won't pay for what it takes to make it work, and the EPA won't let us do what we need."

This is going to be an epic fuckshow.

  12. Edelbrock isn't going to be the last, there are several others leaving CA. It's very hard and expensive to do business in that circus, if you're manufacturing something or wanting to expand it's a nightmare.

The joining with COMP made a small impact, but overall if they want to expand they can't do it in CA.

Holley is sucking up tons of companies too like Simpson and Detroit Speed. The industry has been in a consolidation phase for a while.

  13. If you want to take a short trip, Hutter Racing does a lot of LS stuff.

Pro Car up in Cleveland also does LS stuff.

Buschur Racing could also look it over.

It's sad there's really no go-to high-performance machine/engine shops in Columbus that are reliable and do good work.

I've heard nightmare stories about Fowler too so stay away from them.

  14. My issue with electrics isn't the loss of "performance" but the profiteering that happens. This excessive profiteering is hindering adoptance and growth of the electric market.

Yeah, it's not a performance thing, what they do is bad ass, but it's the way they're being pushed that's bullshit.

Oh, and this lines up with what someone from GM told me that left a little while ago. The EV push is in full swing, doesn't matter if things are ready or not, you're going to take it and like it.

  15. Oh, and the work he did to my car was awful, to say the least. Header bolts finger tight, charged me for work that was never done, missing bolts, screws put in stuff instead of vacuum caps, the list goes on.

When we pulled the front bumper cover off my car last weekend I found more stuff that was just hacked together, random self tappers screwed into things, it was funny but sad to see.

  16. Last I heard his name was a few months ago from a guy on a Facebook drag racing chassis group dedicated to warning people about shady shops and people. Guess they were "friends" and Rob burnt him for close to $10,000 of work he never did and what he did do was total crap.

You ever need the real story on him just ask Brady from Pick Ups Plus.

  17. Well said, Wags.

Just watched Matt Farah’s review of the Mustang Mach-e...amazing car, but he crapped all over the public charging network.

I shudder to think how much Biden is going to pledge to infrastructure development, and more than half of those components are coming from overseas.

We had an editor talk to an EV expert for an article and the whole overseas thing is going to be a real issue. Biden and his people are really going to have to think about how they want to implement these "green" strategies.

Not to mention people far often overlook other pollution sources like tires and brake pads. Plus they think there is no pollution from EV's, well, where do those nasty chemicals that make the batteries come from? Where does plastic come from? Since EV production is small right now comparatively speaking, these are overlooked. What happens when they mass produce all these EV's? That's our next hurdle and EV's will be bad then. :rolls eyes:

Magic, all of these things are created by carbon-neutral magic.

  18. Mandate EV's then power companies will be "struggling" because everyone has to charge their cars now. :bs:

Raising rates and further screwing lower income families because their gas cars are now illegal.

    Bingo...

California wants nothing but EVs, they can't even keep the power grid up right now...

Battery tech is still a LONG WAY from being ready for widespread use.

Getting materials for batteries is rough on the planet and China has that market in its pocket right now.

So, in the governments eyes this is a great plan :lolguy:
