  1. I rotate between the one on 5th ave in grandview, the one by downtown hilliard, and the one by the big sandy near sawmill in dublin.

If you are going to go there and talk to them, there is an enterprise truck rental on Shire Rings Rd in dublin. Often the local agencies can do more than what is on the website. In my experience they can sometimes offer you a weekly rental flat rate instead of per day + mileage.

I have wondered about that. Even if you get the extra insurance? I usually get supplemental rental car coverage through my Amex to cover me just in case. Doesn't have as many caveats as the ins offered through the rental place.

In the fine print it says you cannot use the truck to tow with. It voids the insurance you purchase because you're violating the rental agreement. When you rent a truck a well trained ERAC employee will remind you that you can't tow with it.

Here's the thing about the credit card insurance, it will cover you, eventually.... The first thing that will happen is ERAC is going to pop you for your insurance deductable and file a claim against your insurance. After that, the fight begins between you, the loss control department at ERAC, and the credit card company.

Now, if you have the ERAC insurance, don't violate the rental contract, and return the car on a roll back they'll take a statement from you and tell you to have a nice day.

I worked for ERAC for over two years and spent a year helping to run a large branch. Some of the shit I saw at that company will blow your mind.

  2. Due to COVID my wife was just let go from her HR recruiting job and needs a new gig.

Anybody out there in the Columbus area have a connection or can help out?

Clay has already provided one but we need to get a lot of lines in the water ASAP so I don't have to start an OnlyFans account to make ends meet...

  3. Out of ~400 patients, we have probably <20.

    :dumb:

    We're drowning.

    But...but.....but..... ORANGE MAN BAD

I'm laughing at all of the people that were SCREAMING about keeping everything closed on social media that are now crying about no OSU football...

  4. I need to start Season 2.

There are some great videos on YouTube that explain backstories but it does give away where the show might go. They've already strayed away from a lot of the original material, however, it has been in a good way.

  5. lol, WOW fucked everyone over and gave 2% raises citing covid as the reason back in the beginning of the year

    ...

then they went on to post the best 2nd quarter in 5 years.

this shit is nothing but an excuse for companies to fuck the workforce over. I am actively trying to get out.

TL/DR : the corporate fuckening is here welcome to the party

Companies are also digging in and getting ready to take the election hit. COVID problems are going to keep coming for a while and do damage, but the election blow is going to really make things bad.

  6. E92 all the way over E36.

BTW, you may have trouble fitting a coyote motor.

I'm sure you've seen this, but:

    661029d1501397581-ford-coyote-swaps-do-they-fit-img_5356.jpg

Yep, the Coyote is a great engine but she's a big girl with wide hips. Same thing with a Gen III HEMI, just hard to fit it in a smaller engine bay.

I might have to adjust the chassis I use based on the price I can score one for.

Outside of the engine swap I only see myself throwing some money at the suspension for coilovers maybe.

  7. E30 is the lightest so you'll likely get the most bang for your buck there. Problem with E30s is you lose the brake booster and the biggest tire you can run in the back is a 235/245. These are getting more and more expensive even for a shell.

E36 has a little more room in the bay and for the rear tire. It will come to your personal opinion of E36s - I personally don't like the aesthetically so I would skip the E36.

E46 is a sweet spot in my opinion. The electronics are a little more advanced, but not so much where you need to spend thousands to get your gauges working. Plenty of room under the hood. Plenty of room for a big tire. Really great aftermarket support for other parts.

Anything past here gets cool, but has less aftermarket support or is more expensive. E87/E92 would be rad, but again, more expensive.

The E39/E34/7 series is a different animal. Are you looking for a sports car or a cruiser?

As for the E31 argument the V12 in that car is a joke. I sold a manual 850i earlier this year and haven't missed it a day. That would make a cool LS swap as an overall improvement to the chassis.

I'm looking to build something that's NOT a race car, got that base covered already. My goal with this build is just a nice overall car with about 400-500 hp.

The driveline will be LS or LT based with a 6-speed for sure. If by the time I'm ready to build and there's a Coyote swap option that will go in for sure.

After doing the research it will be either an E36 or E92. I like both of those body styles and there's plenty of parts for them based on my build goals.

  8. DOOD...you're turning it up to 11 with that turbo kit! Well written article, Wags.

Question I've always wondered: do COMP Cams and some of the parts providers give you the stuff for free, or what is a usual discount? I know not every magazine/YouTuber is super-sponsored, but curious what the general deals are.

The majority of the tech articles you see in the automotive media that involve parts are pay to play. That means the company provides the parts you are going to use. There are some instances where the person has to buy some or all of the stuff at a discounted price.

For all of our builds there are some parts we have to purchase at a discount, I've got a few on this build.

You also run into situations where the parts you want to use and the ones you have to use are not the same, ran into that before as well.

This one's going to be interesting because as far as I know nobody has every done what we're doing with the fuel system before on an f-body like this.

My original pumbing plan ended up not being the best overall fit so the one Scott came up with is going to be the one we use. That's something I'm going to talk about in the article for sure.

With this setup on medium boost the car should run mid 9s. If we turn it up, it should run bottom 9s if the track is there.

Not looking forward to tearing the interior out for that 8.50 cert cage...

  9. They just made it official on the website, truly a huge blow for so many companies. It's really going to hurt Vegas bad.

I'm worried about PRI getting hit next :(

For those to lazy to go look...

SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, announced today that due to Covid-19 and concerns that event facilities and services will be unavailable, the SEMA Show will not be taking place in 2020.

While both event organizers and industry members have been working tirelessly to deliver an outstanding SEMA Show in November, mounting uncertainty has rendered continuing with the event inadvisable. SEMA expects the decision will bring much needed clarity to an uncertain picture and will help exhibitors, attendees and partners plan accordingly.

Recent SEMA Show survey results indicated interest in a possible virtual tradecshow with related live elements. SEMA will be working with industry members to determine interest levels on specific alternatives.

“The SEMA Show is committed to furthering businesses in the automotive specialty equipment market, and to providing manufacturers and buyers with the best opportunity to connect, promote new products and discover new trends,” said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. “We appreciate the spirit, hard work and innovation our industry puts into the SEMA Show each year. While we are disappointed circumstances prevent us from hosting the Show in November, we look forward to getting everyone together in 2021 for another outstanding event.”

  10. CXRacing and SIKKY are popular with the drift bois.

Vorshlag I would imagine is the authority kit for BMW and priced accordingly.

CXRacing and SIKKY are "good enough" but typically need a little massaging.

Yeah, Vorshlag makes good stuff too it seams. I'm going to have to do some pricing to see how each compares. I'm staying away from SIKKY based on the experiences a few friends have had.

  11. E36

Edit, or a E34 if it's supported with swap parts.

After doing some more digging I think a E36 will work because of the CXRACING swap kit.

Their kit can be configured as needed so that's nice.

The 1991-1999 E36 will be the target years since that's what years the CX kit works with.

I might get the engine put together well in advance of purchasing the car. We've got a few advertisers that want to do an engine build so I should be able to get some good parts.
