  1. Yeah, Vorshlag makes good stuff too it seams. I'm going to have to do some pricing to see how each compares. I'm staying away from SIKKY based on the experiences a few friends have had.
  2. After doing some more digging I think a E36 will work because of the CXRACING swap kit. Their kit can be configured as needed so that's nice. The 1991-1999 E36 will be the target years since that's what years the CX kit works with. I might get the engine put together well in advance of purchasing the car. We've got a few advertisers that want to do an engine build so I should be able to get some good parts.
  3. Oh I would totally be using a Holley dash for sure. I'm starting to dig more into what is controlled by the all-in-one ECU from BMW and I'm going to talk to my Holley engineer contact about what their ECU can do. He lives for crazy shit like this so he'll be onboard to help. I'm wanting a car that needs little or no bodywork and the interior doesn't look like a homeless person lived inside the car. This car is going to be a cruiser I think more than anything. I'm going to have two rowdy high performance cars, I want something that will be comfortable to drive witht his car.
  4. E46 might be out now due to the CANBUS stuff it uses.
  5. One of my future/long term projects is going to be a LS/6-speed swap into a BMW of some kind. Now, this won't be a drag race/track car, just a fun driver that the wife and I can enjoy. I don't really know a whole lot about BMWs so I'm trying to educate myself so when the time comes I buy the right one. The E90 chassis was at the top of my list because I saw one locally and it just looked bad ass, but I'm worried the cars CANBUS system will cause issues. I'll be using a Holley Terminator to control the engine so I'm not worried about a harness. Should I look at a different chassis like the E30, E36, or E46 to make this easier?
  6. We're at like 13:1 I think on compression ratio. The type of fuel was actually the 2nd question SAMTECH asked about and they were very adamant about not using pump gas for the build. Could it be done, yes, but it really tightens up the tuning window to the point where if you make a Mcsteak bad things happen.
  7. SAMTECH thinks it will make about 800 on the engine dyno spinning it to 7,500 on race gas. The biggest goal with this engine is reliability and ease of maintenance.
  8. I don't even know the cam specs yet, SAM hasn't told me what they are putting in there. COVID has made this project difficult so communication has been a challenge. I'm still waiting on a lot of parts and SAM hasn't been able to start the machining process yet.
  9. Building a race car through work, this will be interesting. More to come after we start tearing into it more. https://www.dragzine.com/news/bracket-bash-dragzines-project-number-cruncher-firebird/
  10. Masks required in the shower.
  11. Check out Alien Gear, they make a ton of different holsters. I carry my shield in one and don't even notice it and neither do the Karens of the world.

  13. There's a guy that's on Rocky Mountain Raceweek following the event with a mobile 2 post lift. The company is called Portable Car Hoist.

Did you know these protests are a COVID free environment? It's like a miracle or something, like I just want to go so I can be a part of this!
  15. That Predator generator is actually a really good unit as long as you follow it's required maintenance schedule. There are guys at the track that have done the fuel tank mod and will run that thing for 12 hours or more straight with no issues.
  16. Well this is interesting and lines up with what I've heard from a few people as well. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/05/28/863944333/antibody-tests-point-to-lower-death-rate-for-the-coronavirus-than-first-thought

It's such a fucked situation and no matter what you say or what your opinion is you're going to piss somebody off, which is fine in my book. There needs to be reform of law enforcement in certain areas and bad cops need to be rooted out. That's 100% non-negotiable in my mine, but we can't punish all cops. Being in law enforcement is a tough job, you're held to a high standard and expected to make the right call in terrible situations while trying to stay safe yourself. On the flip side there need to be some serious social reforms made and issues addressed that cause these negative experiences some have with law enforcement. That's the hard part, people just want to blame cops for everything. I've seen more than my fair share of friends get their asses BEAT by the cops. Was it over the top, in some cases yeah, but they brought it on themselves by THEIR actions. How is it possible they got their ass whipped and I walked away? It was all about the choices we made and how we reacted to the situation.

Why do they need IDs and borders? It's almost like they're trying to keep people out for some reason.

Well, they have some other issues they need to figure out... A co-worker of mine walked around that little area and took video, it's a train wreck. He also confirmed it has a protection racket now as well with other issues. Let them have their experiment I say, let's see if we can come up with some type of real solution to this police problem.

School shoots are so last media cycle you silly goose. Same thing with those poor kids in cages, world war 3, and Russia Seriously doe, let them try this little reform model out. Those cats in the land of 1,000 lakes don't have a plan but by god, they're going to make this happen so it will be interesting. Just stay strapped so you don't get clapped.
  22. Early EFI tech that's not supported anymore? Very hard pass, you're asking for trouble. The correct answer would be to do an EFI swap is one of the Sniper kits from Holley, but even those will still require some tuning.
  23. Before the shitshow I would count how many people I saw dicking around on their phones while driving after I almost got t-boned. It's scary to see just how many people aren't paying attention.
