I've tried to get 2 seperate contractors to come give me quotes, neither ever showed up, responded to calls or e-mails. I even told them I had cash in hand and would put down a small amount up front. The third guy I called came recomended from a friend, glad he never came because it turns out he was a scam artist and screwed that friend over.

Anybody ever rented a full frame camera from Midwest? I was kicking around renting a 5 or 6D for this weekend but was not sure how their rentals on those worked. I know with lens stuff I had to rent it for a full week even when I picked up late in the day on Thursday and returned Monday at noon, kind of a rip off.

I was just wondering because you might be able to sell the shell to someone who wants to build a race car, or could use it to finish a project. The guys from PR would find a way to make it run again I'm sure..

I can't stress enough how important it is to rent a lens before you buy it. I saved myself huge money by renting first to see if something was what I wanted before buying it. You can rent locally from Midwest Photo or online. I have done both and been happy with how things went. I try to support Midwest when I can becauase they are local, will give good advice, and have worked with me on prices fo stuff before. I have not used any wide angle stuff yet, my line of work does not justify buying it or renting it, but for what you will be shooting I think it will work.
