  1. Welcome. I live around the corner from blackwing and try not to go there. In my opinion they are overpriced. I prefer to go out to Norton sporting goods to buy guns and stuff. Also I've been a member at blackwing and wasn't happy with them. There have been a few occasions where their employees have said some things that rubbed me the wrong way. They only time I go to blackwing is when the weather is bad and I feel like shooting. Otherwise I go out to the range on 229.

  2. I don't know how well this will do or if its been done before. If its been done sorry. I have been thinking that most of the time I go on a long ride I end up eating while out. I prefer real restaurants over fast food. Also there are a lot of days I want to ride but don't have a destination. I've been watching the food network and noticed they come to Ohio a lot. Which got me thinking we should have a list of great food stops worth riding to.

I think we could put food stops we like, where they are located and a website link to the restaurant if they have one. Any food we recommend to try. Maybe even a favorite route to take. Please refrain from posting up major chain restaurants that can be found in most towns.

I'll start off with the G&R grill in waldo Ohio. Located at 103 north Marion street waldo Ohio 43356. Food to try- the famous fried bologna sandwich or the country boy burger. gandrtavern.com open 8-11 mon-thurs and 8-12 Fri+sat. They don't except cards. Cash or check only.

  3. I recently bought a reloading kit from hornady I still need to buy a few more things such as dies case trimmer and a micrometer. (i don't think that's what its called the thing to measure the cases.) Lol. I've been reading hornadys book that came with it before starting. Thanks for the info guys

  4. Rust is my biggest worry. I have also heard that the road salt can really make any aluminum on the bike look like shit. Now that could just be a myth. My bike is mostly black and even if the roads are dry it gets covered in salt. After a cold ride I hate to spend the time in the cold garage cleaning the bike.

As far as riding the salt makes the road seem "sandy" like the tires can't get a good grip on it. Also the tires and road are cold so that lessens the grip also. I normally go out and ride in the early spring there's still some salt on the road and its cold I just take it easy while I ride.

  5. Once salt hits the roads I'm done until the first rain washes it all away after the LAST snow fall. Salt will never touch my ride. Plus it's hard to get traction under full throttle and while leaning.

I agree my bike is too pretty to be covered in salt.

  6. good to hear man...always nice to try something and figure it out....gotta learn somewhere!

hate when people just say "take it to a shop" when someone comes around asking for advice on how to do something...nothing feels better than trying something youre unsure about and completing it... a person should never be done learning, theres always more to know

Yeah I just hate paying someone a lot of money to have something fixed. Especially when that mechanic doing the work is getting a small fraction of the cost as payment and the shop takes the larger cut. If I think I can figure it out with a little guidance and advice I'm going to try to do it.

  7. I was talking more about the idiots that wander around in the road way not expecting cars to be there. As far as blind people go the ones I know are smart enough to not play in the road. They are familiar with the areas they walk around in and if they are not they seek assistance. Hybrids when traveling at road speeds make the same amount of noise as most production cars with a working stock exhaust. As far as the parking lots go hopefully the driver of the car would stop or honk the horn to alert a blind person or a tard that they are silently cruising through the parking lot. The point I'm making is we as a country idiot proof everything and make it easy for stupid ass people to thrive. Like all dumb warning labels. For example those windshield sun shades that people put up in their cars when they park them in the sun. They have a warning that says do not drive car with sun shade in place. Do you really want the moron who would try to drive their suv with their windshield blocked unless that warning was there cruising beside you while your on your bike on the highway? I'm not saying kill off people with disabilities. Just allow nature to run its course and allow stupid people to weed themselves out. The worlds over populated anyway.

  8. This will ruin the drive-by abilities of the hybrids. I own a prius and love it. What the government apparently didn't take into account is all of them have this magical area you press in the center of the steering wheel. Press that and the car makes a noticeably louder honking noise. As for the people not noticing the cars presence its natural selection. "At risk pedestrians" just means people that should be cleared from the gene pool. Look both ways before crossing the street or else you may get slammed into at slow speed by a hippie car. It's not like these cars are silently creeping down the sidewalk chasing down people at 5mph.

As far as parking lots go don't walk in the middle of the lane where cars drive and you'll be ok. It's crazy the government says my bike is too loud and my car too quiet. I just can't win.

  9. Thanks for the advice guys I removed the knuckle as per the shitty repair manual. Then took the whole thing to the local napa to have the hub assembly pressed out. Removing it wasn't too hard. The first one took about 3 hours because I had no clue. I cranked the second off in about 1/2 an hour. Took them to the napa shop just before they closed and they are going to press them out first thing in the am. The guy said they need pressed out due to heating up and all the road gunk. The 4 bolts then seat the new one place. I marked where the struts meet the knuckle in an attempt to not screw up the alignment. Wasn't too hard once I quit doubting myself. Hopefully getting them back on isn't too bad. The car is an 04.

  10. So the wheel bearings on the front of my prius are going out. I went to a shop and they quoted me $967 to replace them. I'm broke so I can't afford that. I went and ordered the parts for $267 and bought a repair manual because my friend at advanced auto said that it was just a matter of removing bolts and bolting the new one in. It appears to be an enclosed system so I don't need to press them out of the hub. He pulled up the diagram and it looked easy. Now I'm looking at the steps in the book and the section for the wheel bearings says its hard to do take it to a shop. Has anyone changed the wheel bearings on an 04 prius? Any advice?

  11. I saw an episode. I think they are a bunch of idiots. Not for going and chasing gold but for being clueless about the outdoors and going. They are leaving food out and getting pissed because bears are coming into their camp. Then they built "bear proof" cabins that are made outta wood and have a tarp for a roof. Bears can climb but I doubt they thought of that. The lock for the door is a 2x4 that is bolted to the wall and swings across the door like an old castle lock. I'm not positive but I think that bears are strong enough to break a pine 2x4. Other than that kinda interesting.
