  1. It was my one experience with going down but none of that stuff happened with me. Maybe it was a freak occurrence but I went down in turn 5/6 at gingerman last year. The frame slider and rear spool took most of the damage. The bike slid across the track surface to the outside of the track into the grass. I replaced a lower fairing and a stator cover (forgot that). Just my personal experience with shogun no cut frame sliders. I will and do continue to use them. Not trying to say your wrong I'm sure you have more track experience and seen more crashes than me.

  2. I think its a little different after both people are at an age of higher maturity. 20 just seems to young to be running around with a guy that's almost 30 now if she were on her late 20's him in his mid 30s it wouldn't seem as weird. I guess 20 just seems a little too "youthful" to be running around with an intoxicated 28 yr old. Just my opinion. I know if I had a daughter that wouldn't be cool with me.

  3. One thing that's really standing out is the 8yr age difference. The guy was obviously showing off going that fast but 8 years seems a bit old to be trying to show off to a girl 8yrs younger. That age difference would be like someone my age trying to pick up 17yr old girls. That's just creepy to me.

  4. I do have to admit that on rare occasions I will wear my "squid suit". Mainly if I'm doing something like a slow paced poker run. It's basically a homemade vest.

  5. I feel sad when pirates and squids point at me and laugh and scream "hey astronaut, are going into space, space man, helmet-wearer"

I often get called power ranger. To which I often reply yep Ill kick your ass using gymnastics. Then I point out the scuffs on it and explain that it was a wise investment since it has saved my skin already.

  6. At a minimum I wear gloves, jeans, leather jacket with armor, regular leather boots and a helmet. If the ride is going to be more spirited I will wear riding boots, over the wrist gloves, my leather riding suit with shorts and a sweat wicking t-shirt, and my helmet. Even on a super hot day the full leathers aren't bad with the shorts and t-shirt underneath.

The first time I took my fiancee for a ride on my old cruiser. I showed up at her place with my spare helmet. She answered the door in a a tank top shorts and flip flops. She got pissy with me because I made her put on jeans + boots and my mesh jacket before I'd let her on the bike. Nowadays she's starting to ride her own bike and points people out that aren't wearing gear. She often say did you see that dumbass without a helmet? I've got to remind her that she used to try to ride in shorts, tank top and flip flops. Glad she learned something good from me.

If someone is riding with out gear to each his own, unless I know them then I'll express my concern. But I really hate seeing girls on the back of a guys bike in shorts, flip flops and tank top. It doesn't matter how good you ride there's a lot of vehicles driven by idiots. Those legs the chick on the back is showing off will not look as sexy with road rash scars.

With all that said I would like to point out that gear is not a superman cloak. You still can get hurt while wearing it. It helps with road rash but not hard impacts. The main benefit is it makes sure a minor accident doesn't have major injuries. The reason I bring this up is a friend of mine would throw on his full gear and ride way beyond his skill level. Riding in a reckless manner he normally wouldn't ride in wearing a helmet and jeans.

    Off rant sorry!

The Harley question. I think it boils down to a false sense of security. They often have a mind set of I'm not going to crash I know what I'm doing. Or if I go down I'd rather die than wake up on the hospital. I ride with a lot of people and in my experience people on cruisers are more apt to drink and ride. I know not all cruiser riders are like this but its just been my experience with quite a few.

  7. should have replaced a guy with a girl:eek:

Well I think I'm going to try to go the weekend of July 9th or 16th. My fiance is going to go with me. I've asked about 6 friends and all of them are scared to ride down. Pretty sad that my fiance is willing to ride on the back of my cbr to get there but they won't. So I think were going to end up trailering if they go. Anyone ever stay in maryville Tenn.?

  8. A guy from work asked if I wanted to go this year. I told him sure and asked when. He said the second weekend in July. He told me to make sure I had Sat Sun and Mon off when it came time to schedule vacation. Not too hard for me since I have Sunday Monday's off. I got the days off. Now he wants to leave Thursday evening which will not work for me since I didn't take Thursday Friday off so I don't know what I'm going to do now.

  9. Are you powder coating or anodizing?

Couldn't tell ya for sure. I thought powdercoating and talked to 2 guys that do it. One guy said he thinks he can do it. The other said he can but he has to order the right stuff so it will cost more. Don't really care as long as the color comes back right.

  10. In the near future I plan on getting my sets levers and control's powder coated on my 07 cbr 1000rr. I have never removed these is there anything I should know? They look pretty simple to remove. Also the levers seem to have a plunger they move do I need to make sure those don't come out?

  11. A friend of mine bought one from them last year. After he fixed the broke stuff and got it inspected he ended up paying more for the bike than if it was used with a clean title. One day we were riding and his footpeg fell off.

The only way I would by from racersedge is if I was buying a bike I didn't plan to title.
