  1. I want to see just how good my new map from Brock's is. It feels amazing riding it but the numbers will tell. I don't think it runs anywhere as rich as it did on my last map because it doesn't have real strong smell anymore.

You may wanna drop the $$ and have Brian do a custom tune for ya I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

  2. i just tried to order a couple OR decals and Watch for bikes decals. I also added some custom decals with different font options. However by ordering multiple decals, shipping is showing $48 for a $17 dollar order. Do you do combined shipping?

AHH shit we found what the hussle is here.

  3. That's odd, my DL1000 can outcorner a lot of sport bikes, or is it the riders I'm out cornering? It's skill, not the bike. A dirt bike rider with full nobbies can out corner an inexperienced rider on any bike. Sorry, just the difference between doing it and knowing how to do it right.;)

Here's a almost stock KLR650 on a track with an experienced rider chasing a full on sport bike with an intermediate rider. Where is the KLR catching him?:p Yep, in the corners!

And since you might not know what a KLR650 looks like see below. :D

I know what a klr is I asked you for advice a few weeks ago when I was thinking of buying one. Your comparing a dirt bike which is also designed to corner super well to a bike that's a few steps away from being a scooter. The track video I doubt the guy was running a hard compound tire designed for commuting like the tire found on the ninja 250. I could corner great on a cruiser or sport bike but on the cruiser it was no where near as easy or fast as on my cbr. Now I'm on a klx450 and I can't corner it nearly as well as the cbr. The cbr was simple to learn great cornering on. The klx is was different not that it can't be done but I doubt ill ever be able to corner the klx the same as the cbr. Especially with out the softer tires on it. Yes experience has a lot to do with it but the bike your on determines its limits. My main point I was trying to make was you had a rider with basically 0 experience riding with a rider with more experience. The more experienced rider was on a bike built to race and the less experienced rider on a bike that is designed to introduce a person to riding or for use as a fuel efficient vehicle. You can't expect both to be able to do the same things. Put a rider with a decent amount of experience on these two bikes and i'd put my money on their cornering (the rider) will be better on the cbr. There is no way the tire on the 250 will stick the same as on the cbr rr. So you can push the cbr a lot harder than the 250 ninja. Yes YOU may be able to out corner several people on sport bikes while on a dirt machine. But can you honestly say that if you were on a sportbike it would corner the same as your Dl? When comparing things you need a constant or a control if comparing 2 riders to get an accurate comparison they'd need the same bike. If comparing 2 bikes you would need an equally skilled rider or the same rider. Otherwise its an apples to oranges comparison.

  4. Okay I want to clear some things up here.

Photo is of 350 west bound while traveling west coming down to the switch back.

This is where he went down, blue arrow is our direction of travel, grey squiggle is where his scrape marks were left on the asphalt, and green is where his bike was up right and park when I came back to check on him.

The road was clear, no debris. Curve was to the left and He slid on the right side of his bike. My best guess is that he got intimidated and panicked.

I went through the switch back came to a stop at the bottom of the hill off to the side waited for him to come down. After a minute or so I doubled back to see what had happened.

My guess would be doesn't know how to counter steer and also grabbed a handful of front brake.

Bike slid on its rightside in a left hand turn. That's a high side technically, right?

  5. I may have hit some debre idk, I didnt bother checking the road where I slid, but all the other bikes made it through no problem(they made it look easy) so im not 100% sure why I slid in the first place and the only thing i.can think of was 10mph in 5th gear could of caused a slip(cuz I know if you take a turn in the wrong gear in a car you lose quite a bit of traction)

You need to learn to match engine and tire speed (proper shifting).

As far as the other bikes making it look easy ( I don't think it applies here so much but for the future) your bike isn't really a sport bike. Not trying to be mean but as far as handling goes especially with stock tires it won't stick like a ninja 600 or cbr. I don't know what the suspension on your bike is like but I would guess its slightly lacking. So don't base yours and your bikes abilities off of what other people can do.

  6. I installed a new set of sprockets and chain on the rc today. But as I was reinstalling the drive sprocket cover and clutch slave cylinder it wouldn't seat all the way. I determined it was because the rod that connects to the slave cylinder and goes into the clutch wasn't all the way in. I thought I'd just get it lined up and press it in by slowly tightening the bolts. I started to get it to work then I heard a slight pop noise and noticed the 2 main bolts that hold the slave cylinder were loose again. I wasn't able to get them to tighten down again. I pulled everything off again and put it back on this time it all went on and fit perfect. That is until I started tightening the bolts down and the 2 that mount the slave cylinder to the motor wouldn't grab at all. I pulled them out and inspected the holes to find out I stripped them out ( the holes).

Has anyone had this happen before. What are my options as far as fixing it? Do you think a machine shop or mechanic would be the best option to get it repaired? Any ideas on how to fix it.

  7. Sounds like your jacket doesn't fit properly. I wear all mine in the jacket. If its going to be a sportier ride I'll also wear the full suit and zip it together.

If it was slightly uncomfortable I'd still wear it. I'd rather be slightly hot and uncomfortable while riding than comfortable sliding across the pavement.

  8. Sorry I'm lost what? They have the AZ chl?

I live in Arizona. A couple of my friends have the AZ CHL that are Arizona residents. They said its a pain to obtain even if you live here because so many people are applying for the AZ permit that live outta state. If your an Arizona resident.you can ccw without a permit. The only benefits to getting the permit are you can carry in a bar as long as you aren't drinking + they don't have the no guns sign. The other benefit is outta state travel. I have no reason to get the chl down here because I've got less restrictions with my duty weapon.

  9. I've got a few friends down here with them they say its a pain here to. Wouldn't expect it in a state that everyone can carry in. I guess it because everyone wants a piece of our shit.

  10. **Move to R&R if needed

I just checked my mail and I got back my chl application they said that the Instructors current number was not printed on the document.Their was a number printed on it an Arizona said that a copy is was just fine. I sent them everything I had for my Ohio chl. Gonna give them a call on Monday and see whats up their back logged like a month and it takes 8+ weeks now to get the application back. Any way I can get the current number or go with someone else if possible. Just don't wanna wait two months.

Are you planning on traveling somewhere that doesn't have reciprocity with Ohio but does with AZ?

  11. heh, I had a friend with lots of experience, drop the slide on a old Mauser pistol and it went off and put a hole in his wood floor.

    You never know.

Weak firing pin springs, trouble right there...

the safety won't always prevent it from firing.

Bang the butt of an old M-16 on the ground and see what happens.

Please stand clear of the muzzle.

Safety on, bolt carrier to the rear and out of battery.

It often chambers a round and fires...

That goes along with buger picker off the boom button. Chamber locks are my second prefered method of securing the gun because it can't fire. My first being my safe. The gun won't fire unless the trigger is pressed. Unless its antique or modified and dropped.

Like I said here antique I guess old would be a better term. With the m4 that we carry we have to have the bolt closed on an empty chamber because of the history with the old m-16. But I've seen a firearms insructor who was on a soap box chamber a round safety off bolt closed weapon set on full auto and slam the butt stock on the ground hard several times and nothing happened.

  12. I've got a co-worker that's been trained in the use of handguns and had the clearing procedure embedded in his head fire a round in his apartment. At the academy everytime we received our guns or put them away we had to say and perform the clearing procedure.

Safe place safe direction, weapon level with the deck, finger off the trigger. Hit the Magazine release three times. Slingshot the slide three times. Visual inspection (look in the chamber). Physical inspection, top bottom top (stick a finger in the chamber then the bottom of the mag well then again in the chamber). WEAPON IS CLEAR SIR!

Well anyways after one of his quals after the academy our firearms instructor told him he needed to work on his draw and trigger pull. He told him to clear his weapon and practice dry fire drills aiming at a post it note at home from time to time. Well a few days later he decided to do some drills and his first draw he fired a round right through the center of the post-it note and through his neighbors apartment. Luckily no one was home. What happenned was he half assed the clearing procedure and racked the slide then dropped the mag. He got in A LOT of trouble.
