Self-deprecation is so much more fun than bitching and complaining. anyhoo, I finally washed the bike to find that it there are scratches on the tank and clutch cover. any suggestions to just patch it up enough to prevent rust/ further damage?

If I can get it fixed and pretty in time, I'm definitely joining again. Though might end up bringing trainer wheels mod to stay upright next time.

It's not the bike but the rider Helmet is good. one tiny scratch/chip in paint. need new visor and a new air vent thingie. prognosis: easy fix. Jacket: served it function well. a few holes in shoulder area. prognosis: Free Iron pony t-shirt coming up. Body: scrapes too minor to mention. though I am sore this morning. As I told 1000rr, broke my crash cherry. It was quick and hurt for a little bit, then I was fine. Had euphoria for the first day. Next day was f'ing sore and wished I had waited for the right road/man.

All right here is my bit of rant. Do you really think that those illegal immigrants are that much different than the invaders in the 1600's? They too have ambition, they too are persecuted, they too are looking for the land of opportunity. They are willing to work and live in the worst possible conditions just to have a chance to give their children a better life. The government should make it easier to get into the country, but should also tax those new legal immigrants at a higher rate and withhold some of the benefits until they become citizens. It is a price most would gladly pay to ensure a better future for their children. Have you ever asked yourself why they are willing to die to get in? Why they are willing to sail 90 miles on top of a box? If you were in their shoes, what would you do? Who is being the more productive member of a society, the person working the fields or the person believing that it is their duty to protect the borders?

I always thought that police officers have a job to protect and serve, and not 24/7 life of being the good guy. What matters is that what they do when they are in uniform, because it is quite unfair to expect them to be model citizens every second. They are human and have their own faults. The drug test is a screening process, one that has a bigger impact on the recruiting success than any other form. You can BS your way in an interview but may have a harder time with the drug test.

4Daivi I was being sarcastic in the first part of my comment. I guess some restrictions are O.k. but what stops the people making the restrictions from adding more and more? What stops society from saying mandatory abortions is not enough, we need to neuter these women and men? Of course this is an extreme situation, but it is useful as an example. Like Cdubyah said, there are loopholes in this system. I understand the frustration of seeing it fail and be abused, but it's the only option we have. We will never be able to patch it up so as to make it the perfect system - congress will stop us from doing that.
