  1. I am on the road so im not watching that right now, however in this past year i have made great efforts to lower our our cornsyrup. I have started making our applesauce and bread and read alll the labels of anything we eat. Pepsi is still my weakness, as well as sprite. Im not as much worried about granular sugar, i dont know why. When i make the applause i use NO sugar at all, i just use sweet apples and real applejuice. Readi g labels is very eye opening to your food ingrediants and how hfcs is in sooo much food especially "value" brands
  2. Currently i am using a 480EX II, because its what i could afford. My 50 typicly lives on my camera, and i sold my kit lens with my xti. I rarely used it anyways, and still have a 28-80 that i use as well.
  3. Thanks Man, but i think that would just be over kill, since i was able to obtain a 70-200
  4. last ditch effort looking for some sort of wide angle , or a macro lens, to pick up tonight.. Was able to get a 70-200 to borrow from another forum.. I also own a 50mm
  5. and this is an appropriate charge for this type of babysitting, and further proves my point.
  6. Let me clear things up. YOu pay a babysitter by the hour. This is temporary pay, not full time expected pay, so yes 7.50 for two hours is acceptable, as long as it was not every day. You pay full time day care by the day, so I will be paid 175 a week for $35 a day. I did my research on Sitters.com and talked to other Full time Nannies. I wanted to get 40-50 a day, but the family couldnt afford it, however they are quite literally around the block, and will drop off and pick up every day, and i felt it was a acceptable with me not having to pay for gas, and being able walk basicly 5 houses away to work. Exactly.
  7. as someone who is now currently an employed nanny, i knowhe pay is VERRY little. I will be making 35$ a day for a newborn. I will have the child from 10a-4pm I know its a bit low, but i have done some research and this seems pretty par for the coarse for in house daycare. I have read that around 40-50 a day is average in the area for a newborn/infant. I will also be doing this under the table, so no taxes, but it also means i cant use the Daycare tax incentives either. (parts of your groceries, car payments, cell phone bill)
  8. I currently use my 50mm for almost everything as well. Its a great lens. especially for the price. I have done a few model shoots and love to shoot kids and pets, but the 50 doesnt cut it for all the time. Sometimes i want a good wide angle, so i can take pics of a whole room, or something that i can be relatively close to my subjects and get some good candid shots, without shoving my lens and flash in thier face. for example.. xmas morning, husband was playing with our neice and nephew and i was tryingt get a good shot of all them, but all i had with me was my 28-80 lense, and just couldnt zoom out enough to get the three of them.. (they were in an odd spot thats in part of the hallway.. so all i could do was cut off his head.. i was about 2.5-3ft away taking this pic.. which was obviously too close.. http://www.thehaltermans.com/tooclose.jpg
  9. problem is, i dont have the money to rent right night.. thats why i am trying to borrow from someone local. Nope, no longer a member of OT.
  10. Im looking to borrow a couple of different lens for my camera and trying to save some money at the same time, so renting from Lensrental.com isnt in the books for me right now. I would be using these for 1 week + a few days while on vacation. If you know of anyone who would be willing to let me borrow them, or you yourself, please PM me, im willing to work out some kind of collateral deal, just dont know what.. I am also open to suggestions on the lens i am looking to borrow. I will be around wildlife, beach Sunsets, and children(portraits) and botanicals.. lens for Canon XSi Camera. Dont care about brand of lens 24-105mm f/4 IS 20mm f/1.8 135L f/2 *if this should be in garage sale, please move*

    WinXP on USB

This is exactly what i need. I am attempting to repair my dads netbook, but i dont have an external hard drive to hook up, so usb-boot is my only option.
  22. thats crazy.. I cant believe they would turn down a sure thing.
  23. So you had FULL cash in hand for the house? and they turned that down? Or were you pre-approved for that amount? Im sorry, im not trying to be dense, just get the spectrum of what happened. I dont FULLY agree about the girlfriend/Boyfriend thing, but i do think the house should be considered either YOURS or HERS.. not both. Hubby and I bought our house when we were dating but it was clear the house was HIS.. (until we got married)
  24. Wait.. WHO denied you? The Bank or the People you were looking to buy from?
