  1. Thtas weird, i just clicked on it, and its there to buy? *woops no its not, i lied*
  2. We just have the Amazon Best Seller Antenna- We have a house antenna to put on, but the only reason we are doing that is because our TV room is below ground and there arent any windows near by to give us a better signal. my only hangup is this- THe booster uses an outlet and it comes with a very short cord to reach an outlet, but the picture is pretty good IMHO. Im sure there are better but for now this works for us.
  3. look at the stats for the google auto car.. every incident it has been in, has been human error, not the autopilot. its a little crazy how well its doing. Auto Drive Document
  4. We opted for the Surfboard http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-cable-modem/ WOW has a upgraded DOCSIS system so you have to make sure your modem is cmpatable with them (they have a list - quick google search brings it up) The only issue i hvae with it is the Blue LED's are SO DAMN BRIGHT. (i have taped them off) And the price is different if you want white vs black box. Microcenter was the cheapest, iirc.
  5. Get them used to life without cable sooner! Netflix Kids is seriously pretty damn good.
  6. Im ok with that. $600 a year seems worth it to me, and really im not doing all that much. Its no different than switching channels, once i turn my modem in, it will be around $56 a month, i think. $600 a year to me is a couple extra nights of vacation at the beach, two car payments more i can get to no payments a year, an extra house payment closer to debt free, couple of really great date nights at really yummy restaurants. The only thing less Im not getting is history channel, discovery channel, and food network; most of those shows will be on one of the services i use anyways. Another thing to point out, no matter what, Amazon Prime Netflix and XBGL we were already paying for too, so those arent even new services to us. Gamecenter and Sling are the only new ones to us.
  7. Honestly, Netflix has an AMAZING amount of kids shows. If you arent using netflix, i would greatly encourage it. having a TIVO/DVR certainly makes it a little easier, and i know there is osftware out tehre, but since we dont use it, i dont know much about it.
  8. well now its telling me that i have an adblocker on it, even with the filter.
  9. So there has been a lot of talk lately about cutting the cable cord, and i can happily say we have made it one year without cable and don't feel much remorse. Here is what we have done and what we use. i'd love to have others chime in with good info since there seem to be a fair amount of us. For the most part we try to do things as legal as possible. Right now, Big10 and using a VPN to get Hockey is about the worst we do. (i think) We have only 1 TV in the house, so for multi TV users, you may do things differently. So - We cut our WoW cable/internet package from $147(price hike up from$120, down to cable only, $37. We also ditched our rental modem and bought one so the bill will be dgoing down as soon as i return the old modem, but that hasnt happend yet Monthly Costs WoW $37 Netflix- $12 Sling $20 Amazon Prime $10 NHL Game Center $9 (used discover card for discount) Tivo Lifetime Subscription from about 10 years ago-$3.00 (this amount diminishes for over time for us) Xbox Live (gold) Free- Nathans parents buy it for him for christmas every year --------- Total of $91 a month now and we have almost everything we want, and quite honestly we dont miss what we thought we would miss. I tried Hulu. I have tried it on 3 different interfaces and think its terrible in every way. I miss CW, and while i should be able to get it OTA, our antenna setup needs some work, and its not there. For Big10Netowork thanks to Yenner we use First Row with and uBlock If your girl needs her Project Runway fix- Lifetime is free to watch if you have an internet provider that's on their list (WoW, Time Warner both on there, but i haven't checked for satellite.)
  10. bumpminder for those who dont have Big10. Ill be using FirstRow again, and i have changed my adblocker to Ublock, since adblock has now gone sellout to google.
  11. Well that was easy. thabks! Here's a cute doggie as a thank you http://i.imgur.com/WreQBBYl.jpg
  12. That's some high pricing. We bought a engine with like 34k on it for 1100 shipped They bcsn be found, just have to do the homework. Where is the car currently? Subies are essentially Legos- many peices fit together- just need the right combos Check with the COS Facebook group
  13. I'm trying to decide which package to buy of GCL since we have A local team We use my PC to stream from Chromecast - I guess I need to figure out how hola works
  14. I feel lame asking this, but i dont fully understand how to use an VPN to work with chromcast as well. Thats what we would use (or the Xbox) to stream the game to the TV.
  15. So its not really clear- I konw local game are blacked out, but what if htey are sellout games? Do we get to see them then?
  16. I wanted to +Rep you :gabe:
  17. newer versions have it. However, working with the facebook API setup can be a pain in the ass. Ive been trying to set it up on COS for a few weeks. But our version is quite a few years old and im sure newer versions have easier methods
  18. Running these clubs/forums is exhausting sometimes, and the people who are just starting to get into the car scenes who complain about stuff just dont get how much time and effort and history has gone into everything we do, and WHY we do it. its frustrating. Yah i caught taht after i posted..
  19. IPS is REALLY expensive from what i just looked at.. jesus.. 750 online visitors $590/mo SELECT PLAN *edit* I stand corrected, thats for Cloud hosting.
  20. Nope as far as the site goes, this is starting to become an common theme for many forums. COS has like 3 people who post, and thats about it. We get the traffic, but not the posting. Facebook has spoiled people to the instant notification lifestyle of the younger generation. (yep, Im old.)
