  1. Good to know. The seat on my ZX10 is pretty bad. Maybve even worse than my older POS ZX7. I thought maybe I was just bein a wuss. For $50, seems lilke a no brainer.
  2. I thought it was called a chin rest.
  3. Not sure why its different, but yes im showing 115 pages
  4. Happening tonight? Where does everyone usually meet?
  5. . Thats what i did. For my gps and cell phone. Sin e its not 12v, i had to use the original power cord. For 12v pieces like my radar detector, i just wired directly to battery.
  6. So i dont have to read through all 115 pages, what specifically are we talking about on thursday nights?
  7. I'm surprised you're filing. Didn't seem like a lot of damage, for the trade-off in increased premiums. I never saw a stop ahead sign, but others have said it was there. I was pushing it pretty hard as well, and it just kinda came out of nowhere. Think I saw someone waving there arms before I saw the stop sign. They dictate what you wear off base on your own time?
  8. I was going to say there was no "stop ahead" sign, but i quess i was wrong. The stop came up pretty quick on me too.
  9. As I touched on my previous post, this was my concern. That you would be coming into line directly in front of me (or anyone else) at the last minute (where I/they didn't have time to react) to avoid getting pummeled by oncoming traffic. This isn't meant to be a bitch post by any means, you seemed to be concerned about others feedback, so I'm givin' it:)
  10. Is that supposed to say US size 46? If not, what is the US size? Im 6'3 about 150 - 160 lbs. Wear about a size 32 (or 34) waist and 36 inseam. Large jacket.
  11. Satellite dishes. Ive had the name for like 15 years. Im a satellite TV dealer, and a single guy. So I figured I'd use a name that would be every woman's dream. A guy who actually does dishes. Now I just use it on all forums, be it satellite, audio/video, motorcycle, dating, etc. Its just easier to have one user name.
  12. Its not letting me upload pictures. Says invalid file. Its a jpeg, under the max file size. Not sure whats goin on
  13. Had an AWESOME time. Thanks for taking all the time to organize this Nick. Was a nice pace, w no pressure to go over my abilities. Nice bunch of people, glad I got to meet and talk w some of you. With all the paranoia threads before the actual ride, I actually thought it went better than I was expecting. Especially keeping everyone together. Yeah, the 2 (3?) incidents suck. (Was there damage on the low speed collision at the stop sign?) I didn't realize the second was bad enough for a broken hand. I thought he was just sore w some road rash. He certainly didn't show it. Must be the military in him. (Think you'll still make it to Putnam Suntorn?) Uncle Punk: yeah, I was jolted a few times, but only because I wasn't expecting it, and wasnt sure if you were coming in my lane. Got used to it after a while. Like someone else mentioned, I too wasn't sure if you were going to make it back to the right over those hills. More jewels than I, that's for sure. Will post the few pics I have. Frank
  14. So the deadline is extended to a week from today (May 29)? I'd like to use that extension if possible. I want to go, but really would like to get the ZX7 running, instead of taking the Zx10. So I have some more time to see if any issues come up w the 7?
  15. Ive asked a few guys to come, so far it only going to be me
  16. Thanks guys. Lots to look at and choose from. Iron Pony is about 3 hours from me, so it looks like its online for me. Question, if anyone knows.... I have a Joe Rocket Ballistic jacket. Eventually I may get a full leather jacket, but for now I'm going to use the Ballistic. It has a zipper for pants, but can I assume I would need to get Joe Rocket pants to have the zipper work. The Alpine Stars look to have better knee protection than the Joe Rocket pants, but don't look like they would zip up to a Joe Rocket jacket.
  17. Im looking for recommendations on where to get gear at decent prices. I need leather pants and boots, suitable for the track, and maybe a back protector. I looked in the sponsors section, and didn't see anything specific to gear. I cant post in the marketplace, as I'm still a newb on here, and less than 30 days. Locally, I tried Middletown Cycle. They, along w it seems most any brick and mortar store, don't stock any pants, or a lot of gear in general. Also tried Cycle Specialties in Cinci. Same answer. I can look on E-bay, but would rather look at a place someone has recommended to me that is knowledgeable and decently priced. Are there any supported sponsors on here?
  18. As a track newb, I have some questions. I am looking for instruction, not just "open track time". Ive been to Putnam, as an observer. Didnt get there early enough to see how detailed they were in their instruction, but didnt get the impression it was really a teaching type event. When looking at the Mid Ohio site (never been) it looked like thety were pretty heavily focused on instruction/teaching. For those that have been to both, is one better than the other for teaching a newbie how to ride on the track? (Or otherwise. Ive been riding on and off for almost 30 years, but still feel like a newbie in so many aspects) That said, I plan on going to Putnam on the 13th unless someone tells me that Mid Ohio is just SOOO much more of a training school. Not sure if Ill be on the ZX7 or the ZX10 yet, but def plan on going. I saw a few guys asking about 1 day trips. Ill only be doing one day, and am from Dayton. I have a trailer, but think it would only fit one bike. If that helps anyone let me know.
  19. EXACTLY. Even when it was fixed in between downtimes, I was still nervous. Chain was mega loose, and mega stretched. Replaced the chain, but not the sprockets.
  20. Still got this? Or any pants? Im 6'3" about 150 - 160 lbs, 34" - 36" waist I have a Joe Rocket Ballistic jacket, but no pants.
  21. To clarify, the issues I mentioned have been over the years, not all current. Head shake was fixed after a new front tire. (Either that or I havent gone fast enough for it to happen again) Coolant leaks have been fixed. The slipping chain was replaced last year, though it has already stretched to the point of slipping again. Not sure WTF that's all about. Adjusted the chain for now. The most recent issue: I need to rebuild the carbs again. Gasoline pours out of the crankcase when trying to start, so I'm assuming there's gum buildup in the needle seat. Not sure if I can get that done by June, so I may be on the ZX10 anyway, taking it easy. A lot of my uncomfortableness may be in my head. I just have never felt totally safe on the bike. Having the rear tire slip on a turn because antifreeze was leaking on it makes you kind of paranoid in general:D Now on the ZX10, the only thing that makes me nervous riding that is keeping the front tire from shooting for the moon:eek:
  22. So what you're saying is theres a good likelihood I'll go down?
