  3. That's my concern. I was very aggressive with the steel wool, (had to be) so there were was steel wool residue everywhere, including the mechanics. Rinsed it down w gun wash, just not sure it made it's way completely inside.. Prob just get another can but used compressed air this time too That's what I used. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thats kinda how the local gun shop owner was leaning. Was just hoping someone on here would say "sure, piece of cake":) Ill probably just get another can of spray cleaner and make sure I spray it thoroughly and blow w compressed air
  5. Originally had some rust on it, from sitting against my side.got the rust cleaned off,but now I'm worried there's some steel wool in the internals Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Newb to gun disassembly Have my .38 partially apart to do a thorough cleaning. I'm down to the side plate. Am I going to regret taking that plate off? Special tools needed to do it, or get it back together? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I have a 17 year old son who I want to be taught gun safety, to respect the associated dangers, etc. Don't want him having a ccw, even if he could have one right now. Just want him to learn to respect all that's involved for now. Is a ccw class the best avenue for that, or are there better options? I'm still fairly new to guns, so I know I'm not the best teacher in this case. CCW instructor has already given the green light on him sitting in the class even though he won't get a ccw. 15. Just signed up. Said if a group of 10 or more exists he will do a private class, and break up into 2 days if desired. 12 hour class, 8 to 8. 2 hours shooting no matter what. Recommend bringing 200 rounds. Near 75 and 73 in Franklin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Think I'll have to hit the Dayton one. Mechanicsburg is a bit of a stretch when I can go locally. Plus it's only a few weeks away If anyone goes let me know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Ride with a church group that is primarily Goldwings and they say its much worse with the solid wheels, etc.
  20. I'll search it when I'm not mobile, but if he's the one who just had one, I thought he didn't have another for quite some time.
  21. Found this at the local gun shop. Anyone had any experience w them? Anyone interested in going? I'm probably going to do it if for no other reason it's closer and cheaper than others I have seen. Dont have to wait too long either.
  22. Only time i recommend an LCD over a plasma is if you have a very bright room full of windows that you can't control the sunlight. LCD will win out here in that it won't be washed out as much as a plasma Plasma is superior in most every other area. No, they're not as thin, they run hitter and are therefore not as efficient ("green"). But the off axis (side to side) viewing angle Is much better on a plasma. Stand off to the side if an LCD, and you start to lose sight of the picture much sooner than an plasma. Motion artifacts.... Watch a fast action scene. Football play, action scene in a movie, etc. W an LCD you will see the picture "break up" as the action goes across the screen. Not on a plasma. LCD's are getting better at this, but still not there. All the 120hz, 240hz that you see being pushed is what comes into play when dealing w motion artifacts. Plasmas #'s (that you dont see advertised as much) are somewhere in the 540hz range. (can't remember exactly) Black levels..... Again, Lcd's are getting better, and there are some good sets out there. But plasmas are still Superior. Problem is, all the good manufacturers of plasmas couldnt compete w the wal Mary brands. Everybody chose price over quAlity. So the two best plasma brands are no longer available. Pioneer and fujitsu. Get your hands on a pioneer kuro or a fujitsu plasma, and you will have the best picture out there. (no 3D) Box stores won't tell you this, an will Push LCD. (no Profit margin left in plasma, more profit in LCD, more Green, etc). But ask any a/v guy or integrator like me and you will Likely get a similar story Ymmv
