  1. That is the easiest way. I set it on a wet towel in a baking pan. But idk if you have to. Edit: that's awesome! Glad you got it fixed. Without buying a new one! And my plastic piece in my pic was just a piece I cut up to mount an aftermarket projector. thar's why you didn't have it lol. I like beer. But a forum is a way to get free help from other people. So meh.
  2. Water and a thumbnail. Maybe a drop of dawn. Bunch of vaginas. Then for anything not see-through, pledge on a microfiber. My visor, cat crap. And... I'm happy as a clam.
  3. I wanted to go to that, but I was doing that whole school thing.I'm down for something. Maybe of someone knows the dayton route? I've been on it, but only once. Ninja nick should go.
  4. I thought I was pretty loosey goosey. Not sure of the physics behind what you're saying... if the wheels stay "on track" and you let the wind lean the bike, it will not strafe... my question, then, is this: generally when the bike leans, it turns. Thus, in my scenario, it "turns" into the wind, and counters the force. In yours, the wind pushes, and simply makes the bike turn. You're doing nothing to keep it straight, do what happens that negates the force of the wind?
  5. About the wind comment. I think it was said backwards. The wheels strafe a couple feet left and right, but so long as you let the bike lean into it, you'll stay on the same path, and when the breeze subsides, it will come right back up into the same path.
  6. Park it near the lane in a parking lot. I had a car almost run me and my bike over because they didn't see me and assumed the parking spot was empty. Park in first, and turn your bars left. It makes it a little more stable. In the left lane of the highway, stay on the right track. It puts you in mirrors better as you pass people. Right lane, left track. Stay out of semi wake. its a scary place. Stay to the inside of circular ramps. Shit flies off trucks all the time. As stated, wet leaves are like oil. Also tar strips can get you a little squirmy. I almost lost it making a left turn at an intersection, because I didn't expect the tar to give as much a it did. I also wave back and forth when nearing intersections. The left turners are blind sometimes. And downshift so people hear you better. As a newb, it takes time to build core muscles. Do it though. It hurts much worse when you cant write because your wrists are so sore. The best and probably too simple to appreciate is simply enjoy riding. Yes, always try to be safe, but if you aren't having fun, don't do it. Which reminds me, check your emotions before you ride. Angry is exhilarating. Until you're coming up to a red light at 100, trying to honk and stop and not flip over the end or low side. Ride happy, not angry.
  7. Small fingers and duct tape? If it's wobbly, and for sure screwed onto the adjuster bolts, you're penalty going to have to take the lens off. Think of it as a learning experience. :-/
  8. Well, you can take a hair drier to it. Then gently pry with flat heads. Look up a couple hid conversions. They're all practically the same. Hidplanet.com has tons of info too. With a hair drier, you could leave it on the bike even. Just need to take the windscreen, top panels, and bra off.
  9. The projector has to be held in place at three points. Two lets it wobble. it should be at the right angle vertex between the two adjuster bolts. If you bake it and take off the lens, you can pull it off and see.
  10. That's the best I could find. The cup piece is screwed onto a piece of plastic I was shaping to mount my xenons. It should be screwed onto your projector. The ball is brassy, and just has threads on the other end and screws into the plastic housing.
  11. Oh god. what's oil? How do you change it? What should I use? Extra virgin olive oil? I've got a couple gallons of that. On the six fiddy, I used the longer filter, made for my r6 lol. K&N's nuts are convenient so that's that. I did rotella in the 650. Mobil 1 in the r6. it won't blow up. Just pee in it.
  12. By bolt, I mean the screw that holds the "metal housing" also known as a reflector or projector. There are two screws, and a ball-cup joint. If it's wobbly and securely attached on those screws, check to see if the ball is snapped into the cup. It takes some force. I thought i was going to break it. I've got a pic on here from when I was doing my conversion...
  13. It's always too big to put here. But it's linked from my facebook. That has the bulb in.
  14. Can try to post from my phone, but I might just have to text it. No computer right now. :/ About the chain, that's from the service manual. I had to look it up after I got my bike back from the shop. They had it way too tight.
  15. Probably too far from dayton?
  16. Both wrong. 1.38-1.77 in. or 3.5-4.5 cm. And it seems like your retainer spring is bent funny. i have my stock projectors I'm looking at. You do have the bent piece that holds the spring, right?
  17. The flat black needs a stripe or something. The wheels and bumpers draw too much attention fein a very bland "paint".
  18. Congrats on your new addiction! I didn't touch the street until after I took the msf. My first ride was around lebanon back roads behind my dad, with his wife behind me evaluating me. They were insistent on making me safe. Guess it worked. I'm atgatt. But, I've laid down every bike I've rode once. Except for my brother's buell, but I just went up the street with it. Point is, dress for the slide, not the ride. Because it will happen. Then get up and try again.
  19. So the bolt itself gets wobbly, not the adjuster nut on the reflector? That bolt is definitely supposed to stay rigid no matter how much you crank it. It just rotates to allow the threads to adjust the aforementioned nut. The chain should have 2.5-3.5 cm of slack on the kickstand. I ain't got no fancy snazzy stands... the neutral thing would have hit me off guard too. Good to know.
  20. I like seeing all these new dayton cinci folks every spring.
  21. I'm known at my work for riding in when all the other "bikers" cage it. such as when it might rain. It when the high is below 70... So when I actually do drive, whether because if weather, or my lazy ass is too late to pull the bike out of the living room, I always get "where's the bike? Didja wreck it?" No, I just didn't feel like riding. Asshat.
  22. It's a cr2. It's in the electronics section of wahl-mart. Usually used in fancy cameras. There were a couple posts, and one guy who had a system for sale last year. Tiger alarm or something like that.
  23. Yes. The whole building can. Which kinda sucks when it goes off at 130 and it takes you a minute to get a robe on and disarm it. And idc if anybody else does anything when they hear it, but when I do, I can go out and stop whoever is messing with it. Even though the screeching alarm itself would make any normal person ditch. Then there's the disc lock part which would make it a major bitch to steal from my porch. Also, it would be squealing away as they drove the trailer... So I doubt that would get far.
  24. More gas generally does make my dad's 125 feel better. I like the rear sliding, not the front.
  25. Couple remarks after about a year of use. The paint is easily scratched off, but the bare steel is stainless so no worries. The battery died faster than it should. And rather than order xena's brand battery, I just got an energizer. Put it in and didn't use the alarm for a couple months, and I'm winding if it's dead too... Tried to lock it up last night, but it kept going off. Like noone around, false alarm going off. I'm puzzled. I'll try a brand new battery to see if it drained it somehow.
