  1. yeah its an auto, i went through all the fuses and the all look ok..but I cant find one that has anything to do with the AWD..nothing in the manual says anything about it. unless its piggy backed off another fuse..(ie. my talons seat belts and headlight motors and tied with the same fuse)
  2. so the AWD my moms 97 outback quit working, front wheels still work but I dont know anything about theses cars so i have no idea what to look for, Ive visually inspected the drive line and nothing seems broken or out of place, trans fluid levels are fine. There are no dash lights on the shouldn't be except the check engine light..which I'm waiting on a scanner so i can see what that's about but its probably throwing a cat code again. Is there any Problems that the AWD system is know to have? any ideas would be great!

    Thanks again!

  3. I got home early (holy cow I underestimated the snowfall!) and cleared my driveway using my little but trusty 2-stroke snowblower. In clearing around Cleetus, I thought about how much he sucks in the snow, and of course the age-old advice of adding weight to the back of the truck for more traction.

I don't have bags of gravel/sand/whatever, nor one of those huge bladder bags that holds a ton of water. However, I'm looking all around me at this wet, heavy snow...:)

I piled a large mound over the axle, bedside-high. I know it's not as dense (and therefore heavy) per volume as water, but has anyone else used this technique to improve RWD traction in winter storms?

  4. have a 2000 1.8T quattro, need a used transmition or if you know anyone that will rebuild it for a good price. Will not go into 4th gear and 3rd flops back and fourth. And also need a MAF sensor mine is toast!
  5. my remodeling exp includes everything from demo work, framing, drywall hanging and finishing, acoustic drop ceilings, painting, laminate counter tops, minor plumbing and electric, installing doors, etc. Ive worked at bike source assembling bikes, worked for a residential painter, delivered drywall
  6. did the holster and mag holster come with it? if so good buy!

ya i think all the XDs/XDm's come with the XDgear package: (2)mags (16+1 in .40cal and 19+1 in 9mm) Paddle holster, Mag holster, speed loader, cable lock, cleaning brush, and allen wrench to adjust the holsters.

Ive only had it out once but felt great and everyone ive talked to had nothing but great things to say about the XDm's. The other cool thing< and im not sure about other hand guns since this is my first, is you can change it to a 9mm by simply changing the barrel <30sec and slapping in a 9mm mag. Im happy with it!

  7. A sprayer wont do any good on block which has not been rolled before. It is true that if the paint is sprayed it may make it easier to backroll which is the process of rolling the paint on after spraying which a block surface needs. Now with basement walls, you have 1 chance to seal the block with a product like drylok. If you choose not to do it and use paint, the opportunity is lost. Just something to consider. There are also block filler paints out there which do make it a little easier to work into block. Block which has never been painted is best done with a very thick nap roller 1"+, and dont try to skimp on the quality. A cheap roller will be destroyed alot faster than a good one due to the roughness of the block. Painted block for the first time is never fun and alot of people are surprised on the amount of time and material it takes. An average gallon of paint is good for something like 350 sq ft but that goes out the door when it comes to block. Also the natural effervescants(sp) in the block(depending on age) will cause cheap or inappropriate paint to peel either quickly or overtime. Now a floor surface should have a good quality floor enamel or epoxy. The bast way to ensure this sticks is to do a moisture test first which involves taping plastic to the floor and checking it over a period of days to see if water collects under the plastic. If it does you have moisture issues and paint may not sttick. Next acid wash the floor prior to painting. Its easy but the smell may be a bit rough for a few hrs so make sure the family is gone and you have a mask on. Of course these are methods for proper procedures and are just to give the op something to consider.
