  1. was he at least wearing his safety gear??? ya know the bandana and sunglasses... but seriously how ignorant can some people be.
  2. Being I started on dirt, I would say the difference that I noticed was size/wieght. I dirt bike is much easier to maneuver but the dirt tires slip out easier.
  3. Mmmm I was thinking that bit his was an 07 wasn't it? Either way I drooled all over it.
  4. I was just at Honda Marysville, and outside sat a 03-06 cbr1000rr that had an Ohio riders sticker on the windscreen. The paint was black with red flames and had fireblade under the cbr emblems. Who would trade in such a sexy bike?
  5. if you have a particular bike in mind go to that bikes forum and look through their classifieds. Like for example: tlplanet, hayabusa.org, katriders, ECT.
  6. from what I've been understanding is that the 848 is comparable to a gsxr750, but not positive. However it wouldn't be a track bike anyhow, that's what my cb500 will be. The only reason ive hesitated on the 848 over a jap bike is because of price and maintenance. From what IP said about it it doesn't seem to be much worse than a jap bike.
  7. it was an 07 crf100, something small to learn on . I paid like 2600 after tax title and interest, then sold it last year for 1100. Sumos are sweet, but id rather have a sport bike for the streets. However a crf 250 or 450 would rock for getting back into motocross.
  8. I'd be buying used, bought my first bike off the showroom floor and regret it. Mainly because the value drop. I've been looking into the gsxr 750 and 1000, but upon looking around more I stumbled upon the 848 that I haven't seen or heard about in years. However the price of a ducati has me thinking about it. As far as the BMW RR id get a busa before a BMW, its just the power and insurance that keeps me from the busa.
  9. I'd use this bike for the street so it won't help but I'm trying to look at the one you mentioned earlier. What's the second part rusty?
  10. I only got the katana BC it was in near mint condition with 11k miles for $1800 I actually made money selling it minus maintenance. that's the same reason I don't want the 848 cus id be afraid of wrecking it. Drewgt-reason I say not to the busa is BC insurance and I'm trying to be sensible coming off a katana. I can control myself that's not a problem, and its still a possibility im just trying to be smart about it.
  11. VFR is not my taste... Your second post sounds like you sparked an interest in the 848 as well.
  12. Sv=ugly imo. I'd prefer a tlr/tls but lets not go back to the "thoughts on a tl1000" thread. $600 is pretty good I was thinking like double that.
  13. I'm still a pussy when it comes to racing a bike that expensive/rare.
  14. Although I'm not a VFR fan, I find this one attractive. Never looked at the older ones, in terms of power what would it be compared to?
  15. I put 9k miles on the katana last year so id be doing a valve adjustment yearly, how much that cost for a ducati? I would prefer a Japanese bike, not really a triumph guy. The only non map bike id really consider is the 848. Casper..... Funny but I have a scooter.
  16. I only race like once or twice a year, but this is why I kinda sorta wanna stay away from the ducati. I'd be to chicken shit to race it and drag racing it is like eating cereal with a fork. The hayabusa fits it perfect but i would like a lower insurance bill and im trying to be smarter in terms of moving up from a katana. Im just looking for ideas, as far as the heli bars i didn't even think of that, but i don't know how these bike hold up for mileage.
  17. Here in a couple weeks I'm gonna be bike shopping, but I'm not really set on any bike in particular. I'm not sure what to get and figured id see what the wise men say... The things I'm looking for in a bike is... -decently comfortable, cbr didn't bother me. -Cheap parts, Ducatis are sexy but im not paying $500 for a bolt -sporty, but not an touring like fj1300. -I drag race so it should be fairly fast. -Fuel injection a must. What's your experiences on bikes, what do you recommend. I would pick up a ducati 848 that I can't get my mind off, but it goes against #1 and #2. Just curious what's the 848 like in terms of maintenance and reliability?
  18. YouTube and Craigslist is the only other sites I'm really ever on.
  19. Great my most boring time at work OR is down. Back to more youtubing.
  20. This is the main reason i will never have anything to do with harley and their stupidity. "1950's technology at 2030's prices."
