  1. P1 has no elevation, but more obstacles than Mohican.

To get fast, I hired a coach. Started around Thanksgiving of 2011 and trained seriously until the Mohican 100. She had me do so many different things....running, hiking, stationary bike at the gym, stairs, rowing, and lifting. When the weather broke in the spring...I'd go to the trail and pedal all damn day. I lost like 24lbs (194 to 170) and 5 inches off my waist. It helped tremendously.

To put it in perspective, before training, I was able to do two loops around p2...33mins and about 38 minutes. a week in to training, i did 4 loops in 3 hours and felt like dying.

Fast forward to spring. I could do 4 loops in 2hr 20 mins. Felt like i could do more. By June, I felt like i could 30 min laps all day. They had a time trial race there in June or July....fastest lap. I did 27:46 i think at p2.

The best way to get fast is lose weight, do any type of cardio you can find, and lift weights...so you can do more cardio....longer.

Damn thats getting it. Ive road P2 twice but like P1 better so I ride it more. I plan on getting back in the gym soon and dropping some pounds. MTB been fun so far and I am still progressing each ride. Hopefully I can get up to that one of these days but Id be happy right now to ride the entire course without putting a foot down.

  2. Damn I just got home and showered from Alum P1 and I can do it in about 40-50 minutes and thats only 6 miles. Gonna try it twice here soon. I would like to try to do mohican by the end of October and was figuring 4-5 hours estimate.

I was curious about this... Zorro how long did it take you to get that fast or build up the stamina to do more miles?

  3. I had a set on my 06 and they were decent quality and fit well. The stickers started peeling and the "clearcoat" was thin. I didnt buy them but if my next set was equal to those I wouldnt hesitate. I have heard bad things about some and good about others. My experience is only Honda related.

  4. Would you be open to any trades? I've been looking for something I could hit the track on. I have an 08 FZ6 28k miles, one owner, never down.

Open to trades but not really looking for a fz6. Thanks fir the offer though.

  5. Bought a M&P Shield .40 today at Vance's. Didn't even go in to buy anything but they had some in stock so I jumped on it. My roommate picked up a used Shield 9mm with Triijicon Night Sights while we were there too.

    They have anymore 9's there?

  6. It's not really that far of a ride guys. There will be a group of riders for every skill level and more experienced riders who will be more than happy to help new riders. This is really a great opportunity for a first group ride and newer riders to meet others while riding with a group.

Last year was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to meet forum members. I'm glad Nivin decided to do this again this year. I hope a lot of you can make it.

  7. I am just starting to get into cigars. I've had a few from the local shop last two weeks. Does anyone have recommendations on brands or particular ones that are good. I'm liking maduros so far. Any good retailers online I should know about.

  8. Oh I still have your digits meaning the a**packing will continue, just maybe not on the track.

Hope all is okay man, if you need anything etc. let me know.

All is good. Just looking for a different bike since I want be able frequent the track like I had wanted.

  9. Seems like every freaking central ride I want to go on falls on my weekend to work...damn it. Im gonna have to quit working every other weekend.

Still time to request off :D

Luckily, this falls on my weekend off but I agree every other does suck sometimes.
