  5. If any were wondering I haven't listed the bike in the market place yet because a guy I know is waiting on a call back from the bank for a personal loan to buy it. Didn't want to go throgh all the trouble of listing everything and posting pics if he was going to be able to make it happen. He said its a long shot but its hope
  6. Ok ill tell you all who mainly because others are getting blamed and the others mentioned did nothing wrong. First off Crazyskullcrusher was VERY interested but never accually said "ill take it" he decided the money spent would not be as big of a upgrade as he thought for him. Second littlecarbsbigsmiles bought my wifes shadow, it was a hand shake agreement and I Trusted him till the next day and he IS a man of his word and handed over the cash the next day(Thanks Greg hope the wife loves the Shadow.) The person of topic is mikexup, came over Saturday before I meet up with Sam and threw out a offer(I almost said the hell with sam and took the offer right then)but I'm a man of my word and told Sam I would give him first crack at it. Once Sam told me he was out I called mike and said if he wanted it, it was all his and he said absolutly, then ask how I wanted to proseed he would do a personal check durring the weekend, or a bank check Monday, I said if your going to the bank maonday id prefer cash, he said that's fine. So last night left him a voice mail asking him what time he wanted to meet up and I got a text back requesting my email address because it easier for him to reply to emails, so ii sent him my email(this was around 8p last night) later last night I hadn't gotten any email so I sent him another text saying , let me know asap so I could plan out my day for tommorrow. Then here is the next text I get a 6am...... Without boring you witha bunch of details the purchase of the bike isn't the best thing for me to do at this time. It's a nice bike and I'm sure it will make someone a nice ride. Comes down to too many irons in the fire right now for me. Later...Mike And I sent a couple replies instantly with no replies back:nono:
  7. I talked to my notary buddy he said if for some reason I don't sell just go the title office and tell them I lost it
  8. No title was signed over, just had it noterized the buyers part is still blank.
  9. I know shame on me right, then the next time some poor truley honorable guy will wonder why I won't trust him. Some times I hate the "real" world we live in.
  10. Looks like I'm going to put this off for today I'm too pissed about mt TL deal to trouble shoot a problem but here is part of a acrticle I read..... It appears the prime "suspect" in the dreaded "clunk" leading to twisted starter bolts (and also to starter clutch failure) is the improper use of the throttle (right hand!) when starting the bike. Advancing the throttle causes the TPS (throttle Positioning Sensor) to "misread" and to cause a kickback - the full power of which is directed at the flimsy internal structure of the starter. See the next two items on proper starting technique - and avoid the problem. Also appears that an incorrect setting on the TPS is a major contributor to the dreaded clunk - either on starting or on engine shutdown. Included in the TPS section below is an excellent article, with pix, on how to check the TPS setting and how to adjust if it is out of the preferred range. Click here to jump to that TPS check & Set article. http://www.sloneservices.com/SilverBack/Other-Stuff/TPS-Test-Adjust.pdf found that here... http://www.sloneservices.com/SilverBack/VStar1100-FAQ-08.htm lots of good info there
  11. Oh yea he is a ORDN member...hense my rant on here...but I'm too nice of a guy to point fingers:disappointed:
  12. ...how pissed I am right now. I'm a man of my word and I expect others to be too. Had my TL sold, was even told I could have gotten a check this weekend, but opted to wait for cash on monday, I got the title noterized and everything, even told a guy yesterday that was interested that it was sold not sure if I saved his email or not, And the "buyer" backs out last min. Via text message. So needless to say its still for sale, ill be posting in the market later this morning when the fire in my eyes dies down.
  13. I think I'm on to something...I think the TPS might need adjusted, ill post details when I get home on a computer and hopfully with a success story. But all things are pointing to that.
  14. Ok I think I can rule out the battery, just put jumpers from it to my lift truck at work and still does it, voltage don't drop as low(maybe only down to 9v) but it still does it. There is talk on the interwebz about bad starter one way gears in these being bad but its a totally different problem, the common problem is the gear not engaging, those are in the 99-02 models
  15. Ok had some free time at work tonight and put a meter on it. The standing voltage not running is 12.7...when its running its 12.9...when it tries to start 1. When it starts with out the salling problem it drops to 8.5 to 9.... 2. When the starter stalls out for that slipt second it stuggles and the voltage drops to 6.5 but bounces right back to 12v when you let go of the button
  16. just heasatates and sounds liek maybe not enough juice or something...ill check voltage tomorrow and do more research, ive got 3 months to iron it out
  17. picked up the wifes new(to her) 07 Vstar 1100 classic last night and i have a question connerning the starter. The bike came with 90 day warranty so want to address all problems before that is up. Im not cruiser guy so im not sure what they are supposed to sound like, thought maybe someone with a familiar bike could chime in. The starter just sounds weak to me, the battery was full charged and it mostly does it on cold starts, but it might turn over one or twice then stall for a split second the crank ok. Im guessing this bike dosnt have a decompression valve like im used to with the Tl, and im sure i has way more commpression than the 600 shadow. Here is a clip, ill try to take another on eon a colder start. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jzxV_b0F38&list=UUpnvMR2xgYFor_jpr0PKHZw&index=1&feature=plcp
