  1. its crazy how Dan Brown mentions this stuff in his fiction book Angels&Demon, makes me feel like CERN has created anti-matter years ago, but are just publishing it now. Hope the Black Hole theories aren't true, it would suck to kinda get sucked into oblivion.

  2. Has anyone ever hit these bumps? I don't usually go this way but I had to today, I got on I71N from Greelawn in my Jeep and was headed out to Wilson Rd. I mereged over to the left lane that leads to I-70W. The ramp is a tight, uphill, banked left curve. Sounds primo, right? In the middle of it is a span over top of another lane - 315 South I think.

Anyway, right where the steel span meets the asphalt there is the long steel beam that runs the width of the lane. The asphalt is worn away from ontop of the steel beam and I swear it's about 4 inches deep. It runs the entire width of the lane so there is no avoiding it. It's right in the apex of a hard left leaning curve. Then to make things worse it's the same thing on the other side of the span.

I'm just saying it looked pretty nasty to me. It looks as though it would make you skip and low side out to the right. I've only been riding about three years and I don't know what I'd do if I was on my bike and hit that thing. I can't believe noone has ever lost it on that bump.

Any thoughts or previous experiences on this ramp?

    Jim

Hmm. i ride that way coming from grove city all the time.. never noticed it in that detail.. but never had a problem with it either.

  3. Wow thats horrible advice man. Theres more to stocks then just the stock price. P/E ratios, PEG, dividend yields, debt, etc. You have to ask yourself why is that stock at that price.

A 20% increase in your portfolio is 20% regardless of individual equity price.

On another note, if you do options thinkorswim is great. If youre doing only equity trades, i like scottrade with $7 online trades.

yeah, there's research to be done on the cheaper stocks. but nobody is gonna spend the time to research it for him. So this is just some starting point advice.

I've heard good things about scotts trade as well.

  4. I have a little bit of investment experience..

Roth IRA, good idea.. after 5 years you are allowed to take out your invested amount.

    Max out your 401k

E-trade is the way to go 10 bucks per trade is CHEAP.

People claim the biggest rules are

1.Diversify, diversify, diversify.. However, not in a normal account, because all those 'diverse trades' will nickel and dime your investments.

2.Buy low, sell high- Thats the idea.. but what happened when the market almost crashed? People that bought high... sold low... Womp Womp Womp..

if your looking to invest 10k or under. i'd look for cheaper stocks. Mainly under 10 dollars. because the more shares you have, the more money you make when it goes up. but also the more you lose when it goes down.

    My portfolio includes

    C @1.69 average

    Siri @ .07

    Bee @ .89

    BAC @ 5.97

    S @ 4.10

I tried some leveraged etf's... the rate of decay in those kinds of shares kicked my ass.

Im only a few years in, but my % of gain is pretty impressive. Unfortunately, i made money, while others lost. My investments were only in the thousands, but, hopefully at the next crash, i can push 6 figures.

  5. Rider Insurance is the cheapest I've gotten quotes from. I've got allstate now and have yet to pull the trigger on switching because I have yet to hear any first hand experience of their claims process

allstate was what i had. and when i cancelled, they took out the last payment, told me they'd refund it, and sent me a check for like $30 bucks. when i asked WTF happened to the 200, they gave me some math equation that somehow explains it.

  6. dude man.. sometimes you just gotta go toe to toe to solve a problem... did it with the neighbors boyfriend, even called the cops on him after i was done.. tried to say i jumped him when the cops came..

But with your neighbor, I'd handle it like i did my little brother... Kept acting up, and i know inside he felt he could knock me out... well i knocked the thought out of him.. now he acts 10 times better.

  7. I play it on Xbox... they've added the multi player online splitscreen mode, and the ability to toggle between first person and third person during the gameplay. And the customization of your player is pretty cool as well.

  8. I know this isn't a bicycling forum, but several of you ride bicycles. Plus, it's dangerous out there on two wheels, when facing idiots in cars, road rage, and of course- nail polish touch ups. Brotherhood, just of a different stripe. And haters are just pissed because they can't make spandex look good...:p

The first call that this douche made after coming to a stop after hitting somebody was to the Mercedes helpline to report damage.

It's crazy how the justice system works.. I work for the same firm.. gonna have to look his ass up in the corp directory.

  9. Just "interesting" that he's currently spending $2 billion with an entourage of 3,000 people for a ten-day tour of India, reportedly to "help stimulate business for America".

I dont always agree with the guy.. expecially on the socialized health care bill.. but....... on this one..

Myth Busted??? there's no proof either way... but in comparison, its highly inflated numbers

  10. Heated gloves' date=' jacket liner, pants liner, socks... quit being a woman??[/quote']

Well, i cut off the insurance, so i don't wanna ride unprotected.. it was $170 a month. It was like paying two bike payments, on one bike. next season, i'll shop around for a better deal.

  11. might make a sweet autocross car.

Does the deal include regular pepsi or diet pepsi?

    Regular pepsi.. lol..

i would buy it if i can sell my truck. What kind of mileage do you get?

Mileage is ok... its a v6 and its turbo.

  12. people right now need money for christmas gifts. if you put it for sale in February, someone will buy it with their tax return money. is the alternator easy to get to on that car ? i may consider.

i think it is... the vg30 motor is a bitch to work on period.. but the alternator is right in front.

just loosen a belt, and bolt.

  13. over the summer, i had it on there for 3500, i was offered all types of trades, pick ups, motorcycles... I backed out and decided to keep.. now i have it for 1200.. it gets no response.. its crazy how it works.
