I feel like most. 4 years or 40...all are veterans. And God bless the ones that made the ultimate sacrifice. I do, however, dislike the term LIFER. I was a career military man. A lifer is a Lazy Inefficient F*cker Escaping Reality and I and most of the guys and gals I served with were not LIFERS.

Precisely...and yeah they do contact references. And in my case actually followed me around everywhere I went for 6 mos. The 12 (errrr 13) steps were too funny...and too true...lol I am the same way too and I retired in 2001 after 25 years.

Gotta say for the most part I try to maintain and just ignore them. There is the occasion tho. Guy pulled out in from of me in his creaky old Windstar one day and was doing 10 under. We got next to each other at the next light and I did say to him that if he was going to pull out in front of people he ought to at least have the courtesy to do the speed limit. Then I just stared at him as he looked at me.

I must say my Red 99 Goldwing SE Anniversary Edition has gotten me more comments then any of my previous bikes. I have had people tell me at lights how much they like it. I had a guy yell at me from his house one day while I was at a stop sign so he could give me a thumbs up. I did have a women walk up to me in a Kroger parking lot and tell me how much she liked my bike. I had just stuffed it full of groceries and she said something about that. i said I use it to shop anytime I can. She saw the vents in the fairing and asked me if it had AC...I said sure does and showed here the Hot-Cold switches on the vents and she freaked...lol

I was very sorry to learn of this. My youngest daughter and Garrett were good friends. RIP Garrett. Prayers for family and friends. God bless and receive Garrett into your loving arms.
