  3. http://www.springfield-armory.com/armory.php?version=1 Springfield GI, can't get much more plain, and cheaper than the r1 (at least according to msrp from websites)
  4. from youtube comment: "You're going too fast for the roundabout, so they just did not expect to see you" Apparently this person has such superb mental processing that they assume all humans are capable of only scanning the field of vision within which one can assume a vehicle traveling the speed limit would be. No need to look elsewhere, since everybody should be following the law, right? But in seriousness, this represents the common view that we as motorcyclists are always going "wayyy too fast." There's no good way from a video like that to judge your speed, but the pre-conceived notion of all bikers are lawless hooligans comes raging out. The cars entering the roundabout don't appear to have slowed much prior to their entry, but apparently you should have according to these folk. If you think riding a motorcycle through a roundabout is bad, try a bicycle. I'll be in the roundabout and people coming up from behind (entered the roundabout well after me) will honk and give me the finger as if I have no business being in one, even though I stay as far right in my lane as is possible. In this country if you aren't driving a tank sized SUV, you don't have any right of way ever.
  5. no, THIS is a camel toeing service
  6. If you wanted to place cameras around a ring, do you have an idea of what the minimum number is to be able to use the software to get a pretty good panorama? Also I guess I should have put helmetcam, I think that's a little more feasible since everything drops out of the line of sight much quicker. Might be old news but I thought it was pretty awesome regardless

  9. Thanks for the data, that was the feeling I had about it, that in the grand scheme of things this wasn't too bad of a shot. We're talking about a round that has held records for 2500+ yard confirmed kills, and they were using it at 500. Not saying I could make the shot, but it just seems like they overhyped the wind difficulty. Anyone else think they should have brought George(last season) back as the expert for this episode? I'd like to get out to shooting longer ranges sometime, maybe next year. I have my savage .223 set up with shooting 69 grain sierras and the 75 grain A-max, now I just need the space and lots of practice. What sort of loads are you using out of your AR for those ranges?
  10. If you ride this short section you'll get some nice shots of the river, cosi, the ridiculously expensive main st. bridge, and from near point A you should be able to get a decent skyline shot. http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=US-33+E&daddr=39.95571,-83.00521+to:Belle+St&hl=en&ll=39.96505,-83.017073&spn=0.010016,0.01929&sll=39.963701,-83.011923&sspn=0.010016,0.01929&geocode=FczUYQIdUzgN-w%3BFf6sYQId5nAN-ymF4qsROI84iDH5YZkLfxPTZA%3BFVS7YQId_GMN-w&vpsrc=6&mra=dme&mrsp=0&sz=16&via=1&t=h&z=16 Other than that, you can ride up through osu campus during the day and see all the students out, you can ride past the statehouse, german village or victorian village have some nice house architecture, if you drive up riverside dr. there are some nice shots of the scioto river and you can cross the river at o'shaughnessy dam(glick rd.) for a cool shot. just a few ideas. Let me know if you need some food suggestions too, and i'm sure others can suggest many good places as well.
  11. yup, I think you might be onto some sort of perpetual motion machine idea;)
  12. http://www.geekologie.com/2011/10/beyond-gas-doodoo-powered-trike-to-compl.php seriously WTF Japan? this bike goes braaapppp at odd intervals
  13. now there's one time everyone can agree it's okay to ride a Harley... +rep to palandor
  14. Any favorite yet/picks for winner? I'm sticking with Dustin or Gary. No kidding! he really set the bar with that one, but several other shooters also made that shot look like a walk in the park. I think the people who took several shots just overestimated the effect the wind would have on that .50 at the specified yardage. I know I could look it up, but anyone have a good feel for MOA or mil correction for 500yd shot with a 40-50mph crosswind with that round?
  15. we may get our wish next week based on the teaser
  16. On now! 50 cal! down to green team.
