  1. This is why you don't grab the brake when you see a red flag. It causes people behind you to crash trying not to ram your tailpipe. This is the Intermediate Group crash that was discussed at the Sunday rider's meeting, crash at 4:35.
  2. Mythbusters did an experiment with a submerged door and the power windows still worked. I would at least try them. Maybe they knew the window motors were bad. Some contries in Europe have "water escape" as part of drivers ed. due to history of people drownding in their cars (smaller bridges and many canals).
  3. Just charged my G9 for only the second time. Battery lasted for about 30 hours of radio play and about 5 short phone calls. When the "Low Battery" audio alert plays you only have about 10 min of use left. Still in love with the unit.
  4. You need to look into a new GPS if it takes you that long. But yeah, MO is closest for him.
  5. Credit card companies and banks have been doing this for years. They justify it as "good business".
  6. I've also seen people ride in to trackdays but I would not recommend it because of the "what if's". There are plenty of TD'ers in your area and you could probably catch a ride if you don't have a trailer or rent a u-haul. Second, I would not recommend MO for you first ever day it is a fast and challenging track. Yes, the CR's will try to keep you safe but I would recommend a track that you can see more through the turns and less elevation changes. My recommendations are Nelson Ledges or Putnam with an org that is doing classroom instruction. I know MotoSeries has classroom time at NL and STT has classroom at most of their events. People at the track are usually quick to help if your in a bind or missing something. Don't be afraid to ask you neighbors for help. If I see a first timer at the track without a canopy, cooler, water, etc. I always invite them over to offer shade water and help/answer questions. In fact we ran into two this past weekend.
  7. Image quality is not the best but the tire only has 1/16" wear in the center compared to my new tire. 1/4" of tread depth remaining.

    From the album: Tire

  10. Has anyone ridden Gingerman or Grattan in wet weather? What are the tracks like in wet weather?
  11. I have a 180/55/17 Dunlop Q2 for sale. It is a trackday take off with plenty of life for someone who doesn't do trackdays. No section of the tire is to the wear bars. Estimated remaining life is: Left side 70% remaining life Center 80% remaining life Right side 20% remaining life Price: $50 OBO I will get a picture up when I get back in town.
  12. What size is the back protector? If its a medium I'll take it. I'm also interested in the timer. Bundle price? Sending PM.
  13. I think new urinal pucks would help you go faster. I'm with Revelstoker for the Gingerattan experience! Lucky me.
  14. I've got a brand new in the box MotoBrackets fairing stay. I'll look into what I payed for it and PM you later.
  15. If it where me I would not do it. Everything I have read and lived indicates that it would be illegal to run amber lights facing rearward and continuously on. Ask yourself why does the front one have two and the rear one filiment? Like you indicate here, rear facing amber lights are for directional signaling only. The law states that directional signals can be amber or red on the rear. Parking lights on the rear must be red. Stop lights (brake lights) must be red. Combine this also with what will "confuse" another operator and that is why I wouldn't do it. What is confusing is a judgement call of the officer and I wouldn't give him that decision to make.
  16. I ended up getting the Scala Rider G9. So far it is awesome! The FM tuner is really good. VOX phone calls and receiving calls is easy. And listening to Mp3's via the phone. Just about everything can be controlled with voice commands. Why did I wait so long?
  17. ^^^Ditto. Positive rep not a mistake. He continues to disclose secret information the longer he is in hiding. Have you considered why Russia is so slow to release/extradite him?
  18. I'm planning on 7/2. Do you still have room in the garage?
  19. sorry to hear about your wreck. Glad your ok. I've got an 03-05 fairing stay in the box for cheap if you interested.
  20. Oooo, that a good looking bike.
  21. I'm running the bike on the track.
  22. I guess I just like new things. I had a Gen 4, put 35,000 miles on it. Now I have a Gen 6 with 45,000 miles. I have the bug for a new bike with fewer miles. Nothing is mechanically wrong, I could ride it till the odometer rolls I guess.
