It seems to me that more cars are running highbeams at night and not dimming for on coming traffic. Is it me, is it Cincinnati or is it a trend? I have flashed several cars recently and they refuse to dim. Having grown up driving cars with incandescent headlights and seen the switch to halogen, then to HID and now projection beam lights I understand the differing brighness levels and the need to have them properly aimed. These people are truely running highbeams. Post you thoughts!

I'm interested. I'll have to check the date and get back to you.

I have heard this about acid forming in the oil also which is why I change my oil every spring regardless of mileage. The alternative is to start you engine and allow it to come up to temperature every two weeks or so to boil off any moisture. I took a test ride on a new bike from a dealership on floor model. I had to schedule a time for the ride so they could "prep" the bike. The salesman said that they needed to fill it with oil and charge the battery.

How much room do you have? Barber, Road America and Road Atlanta are bucket list tracks for me. I would like to ride one of them this year. As the season develops maybe the dates work out for a ride share?

Trying to figure out what size one-piece suit to buy....
rubbersidedown replied to Casper's topic in Track is Crack
If what you mean by "small enough" is the limb lengths I have the same problem. I found that Fieldsheer makes suits with shorter arms and legs than other manufacturers. -
Just realized that you are in Loveland. Here is where I got my suit and get most of my MC equipment. Good people, good service and good prices from my experience. http://www.sporttour.com/

I have the Latigo suit. Its a good bang for the buck with lots of features (including sliders). Its good for a novice or intermediate track day rider, advance riders and racers will want to go to a higher level. I would buy it again since I am an intermediate track day rider. Check out the STG review video on you tube. Latigo (track day) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZYi7OxFht0 Adrenaline race suit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Kjrmd5r7s0 Here is another thread on the Latigo suit http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=97114

You should have gone up with me last year, it is a fun track. Camping, yes. Many of the riders stay at Candlestone Hotel but you have to get in early because they will fill up. I stayed at the Baymont on the Belding side of Grand Rapids its about 20 min from the track and has a big lot with pull though parking. Close, cheap, clean and hot breakfast. Check the STT site some are CW some are CCW. Watch out for the hump when running CCW, it scared the sh-t out of me the first lap. A-group will jump it. Drive is about 6.5 hours from Cincy with a trailer. Don't recommend you riding novice (but do what is comfortable for you). I rode with you at Mid-O and you are smoother than me. I started the first session at Grattan near the back of I-group to learn the track and was passing people on lap 3. Second session I started about in the top half and was fine. PM me your schedule, we should ride share some dates.

I have always worn glasses to the track and it has never been an issue. Remember to always were your glasses when choosing a new helmet. I have found some brands that I cannot were because of clearance through the temples as suggested below.

Well stated Bubba. So much of this thread is missing the big picture. We are arguing taxes, politicians, and policies while missing the point, INCOME. I doubt that there are any 1%'ers or even 5%'ers on this forum, because the would not be associated with us vagrants. Yet still we argue and defend them??? This video was eye opening. I knew it was bad but was under the "think" model. Until we stop believing what super pacts like Americans for Prosperity tell us (they devide and conquer us), realize that we are all in the middle, and start acting in a common interest (that is democracy) it will get worse until it colapses.

Since I missed the MS date I'm in! I'll be in I on Sunday...always looking to split a garage.

I bought the Latigo about a year ago to replace my two piece leather and I like it. I've worn it to about six track days and the suit is holding up fine. I have not given it an "abrasion test" knock on wood. The quality seems to be descent, double and triple stitching, logos are stitched not glued like the gloves above. My only complaint is that the limbs run long on me, I'm 5'6" and 160 wearing a size M(42). That describes me a track dayer that had to try it for that price. I feel like I got the bang for my buck. ??? My Latigo has a mesh nylon inner liner and the site lists it in the features. Maybe you are talking about something different?

Motoseries Aug 11-12 Round 6 - Putnam
rubbersidedown replied to rubbersidedown's topic in Track is Crack
Marty, Sorry to hear about all these problems, hope it all turned out ok for you. I've got a big one of my own. My plight from Philadelphia was delayed, delayed, delayed then cancelled last night. They actually broke the plane with us in the cabin. Cabin pressure went up, up, up then the pilot stormed out of the cockpit, threw open the cabin door, jumped out of the plane and started ripping his shirt out of his pants and yelling at the ground crew. I would have been hilarious at 5:44 PM (our original departure time) but sice it was 10:30 I knew we were done for. Also wish I had videoed it but of course all portable hand held devices were powered down. So..... Here I am, still at PHL while I should be riding at the track. My flight won't leave until 4:45 and arrives at CMH around 6 PM. Then I drive from CMH to Cincy. I HATE US AIRWAYS!!! Hope you guys are having a great time none the less, just wish I were there. -
Second this but use location or course in lieu of track. Moto Series gives out certificates at the end of a Novice day that help you in such a situation. The wording gears it toward skills enhancement. Your missing a HUGE consideration, what if you get hurt and go to the hospital? IMO, insurance is the way to go. Second this, I know two people that wrecked on the track and totaled the bikes. State Farm paid the bills except for deductables and leathers. One went to the ER and had to have surgery, all covered. As far as a track bike, keep it registered and plates current (although not on the bike) and they won't know the difference.

But the root cause is schools. Abolish the public schools and the problem is fixed!

I've seen >16 year olds running with Moto Series and STT.

Thanks Blue I'll check this out...and I was expecting you to recommend someones enclosed trailer! This is going to be a CCW day so I won't need to visit youtube to start to learn the track.

Yeah, I wanted to bo the doubleheader but I'm coaching a game on Sat. This distance is part of the reason I would like to ride share. I wish I lived somewhere closer to tracks, even Putnam is 3 hours. Any advice on hotels out there?
-
Is anyone else planning on attending? Post up if you are! If you live near the I-75 corridor north of Cincy we could ride share. Saturday - 6/9 Advanced 1. 2. 3. Intermediate 1. 2. 3. Novice 1. 2. 3. Sunday - 6/10 Advanced 1. 2. 3. Intermediate 1. Rubbersidedown 2. 3. Novice 1. 2. 3.

Any recommendations from Louisville back to Cincy.

Rt 42. it follows the river somewhat and is scenic. -
Maybe her response should have been, "because it is illegal." I wounder how that 2 second vesus 10 second logic would work for you with Johnny Law.

I like the way you find solutions! Problem is the trackbike is not street legal and the VFR is too expensive to fix if something goes wrong.
