    My first gun

1st its a CHL (concealed handgun license) not a CCW Anyway my first gun was a xd 9mm service model I carried it several years and then traded it for a xdm 9mm which I carried. I decided last year it was time for a change I bought a Sig pro 2340 in 40 cal put night sights on it and ordered a crosbreed supertuck and then my wife confiscated it for her carry gun. Which was okay because for Chrismas she bought me a springfield emp 40 I love this gun its a compact 1911. The gun is very accurate and comfortable to carry and shoot.

    First rides

My first ride was only a few weeks ago. My wife and I got our temps and already had our bikes it was cool low forties but nothing was stopping us. We had driven around the drive way and practiced with the clutch, brake, steering, etc. We live in the country so we rode the backroads about 5 or 6 miles the first round. I let my wife lead figuring she was going to go a little slower since she generally isn't as brave well not that day I found myself pushing my comfort level to keep up. I was fine but was planning to take it easier. We went home beca home because my bike was acting up, it was almost choking on for a second when I got on the throttle come to find out it was vapor locked. Anyway we were at an intersection I turned left and a caged came over the hill up on my butt before the wife turned (blind hill) I cracked the throttle to make some room and now I'm hooked! I went out two weekends ago when it was really windy out. I took the highway and between the high wind and cars flying by going the opposite direction I got a little nervous. I took the back roads a few miles until I felt more comfortable and back on the highway i went. I felt more confident the second time and really enjoyed it. I'm finding riding second nature because I'm used to watching the road and people so closly as a truck driver. I've been hoping to ride again but it keeps raining.

  8. She just signed up for an MSF course! I thought I was lucky before my wife conceal carries and likes gun and shooting what more can I ask for?
  9. Wife just got back from the store and said since she can't ride two up with me for a year she is interested in getting her license to ride and we can ride separate. I know what you mean about the first gun it took me 6 months to pick my first gun. It goes much easier after your first LOL!
  10. Okay I just read the motorcycle handbook and learned I can't have passengers for a year anyway so smaller bike it is just for me for now and I can trade up later.
  11. Yes and also a member of Buckeye Firearms Forum. I am so confused which direction to go at this point. I am not sure if I just buy a bigger bike or buy a smaller bike and trade it a year later for a bigger bike.
  12. I'm in NE Ohio and decided to get a bike. I am taking the riders edge course in May and hope to narrow down the bike search by then. I have zero experience riding and currently researching gear and bikes. I was planning on getting a cheap bike under $6.000 just for me to ride but my wife decided she wants to ride with me when I get some experience. Went to the local Harley dealer and my wife decided the budget is not sufficient. She found a used 2006 Harley Ultra Classic that we both liked. We aren't really wanting to buy yet so we are continuing to look and are not sold on that bike or Harley. We are going to check out gold wings and some other bikes.
