  1. Loads of fun Saturday. A few questionable bikes in advanced. Especially the 250s. They just are so much slower. Closing speeds were insane. But, nothing crazy or dangerous.

    I suspect Zack and I were the "questionable" ones. First time at the track, and although signed up for A we were actually considering bumping down to I before the day started. Todd strongly suggested against it. So be it, we're not blazing fast but fairly consistent and predictable - Zack races, and I pretend.  So, what makes an advanced rider questionable then - not FAST enough?? The intermediate group guys eventually need to move up and become the slow A guys. Not as much fun, but the best way to become faster. And as far as riding a 250 in A goes, their corner speeds are right up there. You big boys know how to get around if you need to. :)

    And while i'm at it, Chuck - what are YOU doing goofing off in I group?!!!

  2. Who is making the trip?  On the fence?  Need a ride? Have a trailer spot to fill?

    Where does everyone stay since they don't allow camping?  Looking for something cheap.

    Me and Zack are 99% in on the weekend, trackday Sat, and him racing on Sun.  Just us two packed up in my Tundra.

    Where is everyone staying - camping or hoteling on Main street? Gotta admit, nothing like a comfy bed after day of pounding the track (vs sleeping in a tent), but camping is fun too!

  3. (Spies) definitely doesn't perform well, if at all, when he's not at 100% ( but who ever is? )  :nono:

    uhhmm, how about Marquez?... honestly, i gotta believe the press was sensationalizing the whole "dislocated shoulder" thing for ratings. to fight for the top spot at this level with ANY sort of compromising condition is almost unimaginable.

  4. no more worrying about whether someone has a beacon. GPS based lap timer gets split times, MPH and g's around the entire track. Plus, you can bring in rpm, throttle position, braking pressure, etc.  Awesome tool for learning about your riding and improving lap times (or seeing where it needs work). Running low on racing funds and need cash.

    Costs almost 800 new, asking $500.

  5. fun things about kart tracks and supermoto:

    * its cheap

    * you can bump elbows with your buddies on track

    * you can drop the bike, run after it, get back on, and keep riding the rest of the day

    fun things about big tracks

    * speed

    * getting low

    * chicks dig it

    we graduated from supermoto to big track. both great. to the OP - you'll be absolutely fine - just do it. think of it as really fast street riding, just no speeding tickets!

  6. four of us from Cleveland area will be down on Friday. Rslocum (Rob), texasmassacre (Mark), and my son (Zack).  Black tandem axle trailer, GMC crew cab diesel. I'll be breaking in the "new" bike, hopefully much lighter on the 'breaking' this go around!

    lol.

  7. my Moto-Fairings arrived yesterday, and my fears were realized - although apparently very nice quality, they fit like they were meant for a different bike. Probably going to return them and take advantage of this HotBodies deal if i can a partner for the 2-for-1. (you can mix and match packages)

    anybody???

    thanks

    George

  8. Izapp, I snapped a pic of your bike as well. She was cooked good for sure. How did that go down? There was shit all over after that. We figured you had to have over cooked it pretty good to lay it out like that. Hope you faired better than your ride.

    lol. they say it always feels fastest before it goes boom. yah, i'm fine thanks.

  9. It's possible. If he doesn't hurt himself. Everyone agrees the kid has supernatural talent. What was that race last year where he had to start from the back of the grid and passed 11 riders in the first two corners?

    .. in the RAIN, when he passed everyone and actually won the race? i think that was Valencia. Fucking amazing.

    However, he needs to mature/adjust and will probably DNF enough times to drop out of contention for the championship. But it'll be fun to watch in the meantime!!!! can't wait!

  10. OK. DirecTV users. You can add a sports pack for $12.99

    bonus, if you call and threaten to cancel the Sports Pack a month later claiming you dont appreciate the value, they'll offer it at $2.99 per month for 6 mo. ya big deal, saved 10 bucks, woopee, i just hate getting nickel and dimed for television programming... especially if youre only watching a single program each month.

  11. Condition: Used for two seasons while my son learned road-racing. He's since outgrown the suit. These leathers are well broken in, and are a bit scuffed. however, the suit is in perfectly functional condition. There is one repair spot on the right side butt cheek, but it has been professionally repaired. This package is ideal for someone who wants to learn how to road-race or ride Supermoto, or a new rider that wants full protection on the street.

    Size: At the end of 2012 my 16 year old son was 5-6 and 130 lbs, and the suit was about as close fitting as anyone would comfortably want it (the pictures were taken mid summer). He did wear an AXO back protector underneath with the standard protector removed.

    Gloves: they are Alpinestars SP-2 gloves that I will throw into the package. They are in decent shape with some scuffs, but perfectly functional.

    i can email additional photos on request.

    $250 for the package. located in Mentor.

    Wera Motorcycle Roadracing

    Well, as usual I'm bad about updating the page - but some great news this week, we're racing at Mid-Ohio on July 17th and 18th in between the AMA Pro event and the Vintage Motorcycle Days! Should be a great event. We'll be doing a double header format - full schedule should be done in a few weeks since I want to include those Vintage classes that don't run VMD as well as the modern bikes.
