Replacing the Nolan N103, arguably one of the better modular helmet options available, is no easy task. We believe Nolan has achieved this by improving on the N103 with the Nolan N104 Modular Helmet. Thinner, lighter, aerodynamic, and better optics are only a few of the improvements Nolan has put into this new helmet. Modular helmets are a bit heavier to begin with, however with an all new shell that is just under 4 lbs for a size large, the N104 is helmet noticeably lighter than the N103. Two shell sizes, comprised of injected polycarbonate GE Lexan, encompass the complete size range with one shell for 2XS-LG, and the other for XL-3XL. The inner shield mechanism is all new and much easier to use. A single slide to lower the inner dark smoke shield and a push button release to retract the shield back into the shell. To lift the chinbar, Nolan has implemented a two-step process to prevent accidental opening. To release it, pull the red lower lip out, which triggers a small, red, recessed tab that is squeezed while holding the lower one and lift. The chinbar locks into place making it a legal 3/4 helmet while riding at speed. Nolan has designed the helmet so that it is still aerodynamically efficient even with the chin bar in the upright position, ensuring a comfortable ride no matter what mode you have the helmet in. Nolan has increased the overall eyeport area and included a Pinlock ready shield along with a Pinlock fog-free insert. The Nolan N104 is more of an intermediate-round/neutral fit and available from Riders Discount in 8 different solid colors as well as various graphics. Most of us put on our helmet, jacket, and gloves when we head out for a ride. But what about pants? "Jeans are ok," we think to ourselves. In reality, unless you are wearing motorcycle specific jeans, your average casual jeans will not hold up in the event of a crash. In come the Icon Compound Overpants available from Riders Discount. As stated these are overpants, they can easily be put on or taken off and you're still looking as good as you were before your ride (minus the helmet hair). Two-way zippers that run the entire outer length of the pants allow for easy on and off. Underneath is a full mesh liner keeping you cool and comfortable. The CE approved Icon knee protectors are completely removable if you desire, or can be adjusted by inserting the guard in different pocket depths. Available in white as pictured or stealth. These are sized as overpant, so typically you would order your normal waist size. However, these are fairly large so we suggest going to the next size down from your normal. One of the more popular chains on the market today, the EK 520 MVXZ is an excellent alternative to some of the more expensive chains and with a variety of color choices available, there's sure to be a chain that will look good on your bike. With a tensile strength at 9,000 lbs, the MVXZ is able to handle even the toughest track abuse.
