11-5-12 Hurting down and to the rt, thought it was another kidney stone. No blood in urine or burning. Can't be a stone. Get to the hospital around 1pm, seen around 2, then prepped for emergency surgery by 3:30. They remove an appendix that is 8" and is a wonderful purple and bleeding pink, it burst during the surgery. So i now have 3 very nice slices in and around my belly. And about 18 stitches inside, to bring my stomach muscles back together. I am still very sore and black and blue. I get home last fri. and sit around watching a beautiful weekend for riding just go by. And it looks like another nice weekend is on the horizon. Oh lucky me. Well I hope none of the faithful on here ever have to go through this. The only good note, it is an interesting way to loose 15 lbs. Ride safe all, Greg

And this surprises you ? We are the dominent species, and as animals go, the Human race is also the only creature that kills each other for no apperant reason. Don't over think this, the smartest is also the dumbest. Just my $.02. Ride safe all, Greg

Just remember to do it the right way. Shoot them wearever you can, drag their dead stupid ass into the house, if shot outside the house, then drag the aformentioned dead, stupid ass back outside, then call the cops. In other words, cover your ass with a large blood pool in the house. Now don't bust my chops on this one, these are the instructions from not 1, not 2 but 3 diff. cop friends I have, 2 I ride with, and they arre always armed to the teeth. In short, kill'em, drag then, then drag them again if necessary. I grew up in J-town on Saratoga Dr., it was a wonderful place to raise a family. Ride safe all, Greg

WELL...................................... I got out to the bike, got her fired up, geared up got on and got under way. My H4 headlight on low is pretty good, on HI it is awesome, unfortunatly, it is pointing up and iluminating the tree tops. Something either broke, or the adjustment gear has come displaced, either way, a headlight directed up is not a safe way to roll in the dark. I am so sorry if some of you made it for the ride, I hope you went without me and enjoyed the cooler temps. Ride safe all, Greg

Hey B, It is just to get some miles in, the heat and the wifes back surgery has slowed my riding down some. But when I took her over for the surgery we were on 270 accross the top at 5am, and it was like another world, no cars, the lights put spots on the road, just a unique look and feel. Am I am very ready for the Labor Day ride. Ride safe, whenever you ride, Greg
-
Dave, No problem with you not wanting to do 270, your ride seems nice also, and just one other note, I wouldn't call it lame out of respect for your decision. So grow the fuck up and act like a rider, not a pirate. And yes, even you, ride safe all. Greg

Just meeting at McD's, not eating. You only need to think outside the box a little for this one. Yes it is early, but another way of looking at this is that you can get some good riding in early, have a good breakfast at sunrise, and be back in the sack sleeping or banging boots before 10am. Either way, you are still riding. Ride safe all. Greg

OK.....here it is. I did this a number of years ago, and it was very unique. I am proposing an early morning ride, say 5am start, a stop halfway for breakfast, watch the sun come up, and best of all, cooler temps and virtually no traffic. I will be at McDonalds in Dublin @ 33 and 270 @ 5am. We can hook-up and go N or S and do the loop, then turn around and do it from the other direction if desired. Again, cooler temps, no traffic, just bikes and riding. Any takers, add here, or just be at McD's. Ride safe all, Greg

Clinton County Motorsports is having a Car and Bike Ride In on Sat. It sarts around 10am , includes some lunch, and ends around 1 or so. CCM is just off 71S, @ the St. Rt. 68 exit. It is about 1/4 mile N. on 68, accross from the John Deere Farm Equipment business. This is a Kawi, Yami. shop, they are really nice people in there, and the flyer I got said there will quite a few specials going on for the day. Just thought I'd drop a note, maybe I'll see you there. Ride safer all. Greg

Looks like we have a few Sport-Touring Riders out there. And notice I said Riders not bikes. But in some cases here, bikes are the input, but for all not riding a classified Sport-Touring bike, I don't care what you ride, just that you ride. So please, everyone ride safe out there. Greg P.S.: I'm thinking about another Night Ride soon. Maybe a 2am 270 loop ride, or downtown Columbus or Dayton 2 am'er. Keep your eyeballs peeled for the dates.

A wonderful ride this morning, a little humid, even at 4am, but the roads were clear and traffic was almost nil. Thanks for coming along Lee and Jeff, now you know what a Night Ride is all about. Our route was pretty simple: From Youngs we went S into Xenia and 35 E. Cont. on 35 to Chilicothe and Tim Hortons for breakfast around 5:30. Got back on the road a few minutes before Sunrise on 104 N. A few minutes out we had the new days Sun on our right just breaking the horizon. We took 104 to 56 and headed W to London, where Jeff split off to head home, whiule Lee and I headed for 40. He split off for home and I cont. to Rt.4 and home. I got in 168 miles, good roads, good friends, good times. What a nice start to a day. Ride safe all, Greg

OK.......here is a good route. From YJD, go S to 35. It is still dark, so we will take 35, 4 lane, lots of visibility to Washington Crt. Hs and Bob Evans for breakfast. Sun comes up around 6:45, so there will be plenty of light for the ride home. From there it could be 54 or 56 or a multitude of roads fro your personal run home. Another route, but more on the back road during the dark times is Sidney and 29 out of Urbana. Not as good when you consider it is only 2 lane, but the road is in very good shape. There are plenty of possibilities, your ideas are also welcome, remember the darkness for the first half of the ride. Ride safe all, Greg

OK, lets try this one. The actual time is 3:30 am on Monday (5/28/12). Meet at: Youngs Jersey Dairy, just N of Yellow Springs, Oh. Destination: To be determined for distance and riders, but, breaking away by 3:45 or 4 and going for an early breakfast, say around 5:30 or 6. Finding a Holiday morning early opening restraunt might be the hardest part, but I will have some ideas. Add to this thread if your up to the challange. We can be home before 9 am if planned out right. Temps will be in the upper 60's, should be just perfect for riding. Hope to see you there. Ride safe all, Greg

If you think gas prices can cause an uproar, just wait till this electric price goes up. It will completly destroy our economy. No businesses will be able to open, because nobody will be able to afford what they a selling in the dark. Riots will follow, in the dark, complete anarchy, in the dark of course. OHHHH, the horror. I'll believe when I see it, sorry, it is the scientific way. Ride safe all, Greg

I am just plain old fashioned tired of even waving to any rider without gear. One actually turned around and followed me to my destination just a few miles down the road. He pulled up beside my parking, I turn off my bike, and he asks why I didn't wave back. I said: Because it is unsafe to take your hand off the handelbars when rolling, it can cause an accident. I pulled off my helmet, he saw my bald mellon and age and just decided not to argue with me, he knew he wouldn't win. Forest Gump said it best: Stupid is as Stupid does. Just my $.02, deal with it. Ninja, I stay on the better state roads, around here. That would be ones like 68, 36, 29, 55 etc. I do this for 2 reasons, 1: they tend to be better maintained, and 2: If I need help it is usually close. I do NOT speed, if anything I run a little under the speed limit. I am not on a riding mission someplace, so there is no reason to bust it. I do have driving lites on my Connie, and when on they light up both shoulders, and side about 30 ft. I run my high beam, unless there is oncoming traffic, and I scan the sides of the road a little more. It does require additional concentration, so staying engaged in the ride is critical. I do not go out if I am tired, I rest in the evenings to be prepared for a few hours in the night. I have done later starts, like 3 or 4am, and then go somewhere for breakfast, those tend to be a little easier only because of the additional rest you can get before you go out. But like any night time riding, Safety is the most important thing. And ATGATT. Ride safe all, Greg

Ok........ This is something I have done a number of times, and each time it gets better and better. My most recent was just 2 weekends ago, 160 miles, midnight to around 3am. Absolutly no traffic, just a couple sets of eyes on the shoulders, and dead calm. It was a perfectly clear night. I stopped a few times and just looked up, awesome. So, was just wondering how many others on here have ever tried this very unique time to ride, I will host a midnight tide, if any are interested. And just for backround, I was on 2nd shift for 10 yrs., so this was a normal thing for a long time. Add you input and or interest. Ride safe out there, Greg

Well if you wanted to try and script as nicer evening, you would be hardpressed to do so. Sunny, clear and just the right temps for riding. H & S, excellent call, again. Hope Me and my old Concours didn't slow you all up to much. I had to split off, I still needed to get back the Springtucky. As mentioned, lets do it again, soon. Everyone ride safe. Greg
