ADV type bikes are very comfortable, handle pretty good as long as you run the more street oriented tires. And the big naked bikes Z1000, FZ1. Or STs.

Balaclava under helmet & inside your collar. I have a pair of leather gauntlet type gloves from flea market pirate leather shop. Thinsalate lined $20 works great.

Wareproof gear or liner is best in cold. The cold creeps in without it. I rode 250+ miles 1/1/15 no electric gear. Technical Monsoon jacket, AGV Telluride pants with rain liner in. Never got cold 26° when I left the house.

If a textile saves your hide once your $$$ ahead in my book. I have two ADV jackets and they are good even in summer. Those type always have lots of vents.

Fly Milepost and Gaerne G both waterproof. Good boots and comfortable both. Anyone on here that knows me knows my shit don't sit in the garage getting dusty, I ride a lot of miles. When I replace boots I'm getting the same thing.

I wear 9 1/2 - 10 in shoes and I have some room in them. Try on a pair of 10s at a retailer.
