  1. That video made my junk twitch when he got into the throttle. I am far too inexperienced for this machinery and it's a good thing I also cannot afford one or I'd be going full tilt boogie headlong to my death on one.
  2. Nivin, sorry to see you selling the bike. I had a feeling this would happen after the baby came, as I knew you were doing a fellowship which is very time consuming. The bike has to sound awesome with those fat stubby cans on it, and I really really want your bike but can't justify the $6k. I hope you come to your senses and keep it. If you don't need the money you should really take down the ad. That bike will keep just fine on the shelf until you get yourself in a position where you have more time to ride and come back to Ohio with us where you belong.
  3. I've been pulled over a few times on bikes. Once by a female sheriff that used to date my older brother. I had earphones in and was doing maybe 20-25 over on a 4 lane city street weaving and shooting gaps. Apparently she was behind me for over a mile with lights and sirens. I did finally notice her and pulled over. There was a brief conversation about the legality of headphones on a bike, she ran my license, asked if I was Larry's brother, I said yeah, she told me to say hi for her and have a nice day. Caught racing a harley (and winning) on my old cb750. Cops ticketed me and him but were cool about it. Caught doing 75 in a 35, same bike, same city. Cop wrote the ticket for 55 and told me to have a nice day. Been pulled over other times by township cops, sheriffs, never ohp tho and let go. I've found that having a ccw permit makes a huge difference. Since I've had it cops have let me go way more than they used to.
  4. Was great riding with both of you. Dan, we never did run into 13. Ended up picking up 70 east after the road you sent us down t-boned into some other state route. knees and ass are killing me But it was worth it.
  5. We meet here. Dropped Pin http://goo.gl/maps/75gLB
  6. The bellstores on the corner of 30 and 94 at noon. Kinda a haul for you tim but I hope to see you. Text 330.338.9708 with any questions.
  7. doing suspenders on both bikes. The 849 project is getting a stock rebuild. Hot tanked and bead basted the lowers and sent then off to powder coat. The bandit is getting some sonic springs and racetech gold valves. The front suspension on that bike is a real weak point and I've been putting it off because it isn't as easy as just bolting in a new shock.the old honda forks look horrible, the chrome legs are rusted to shit between the two yokes From being inside the headlight ears. Had to use a chisel and a dead blow to pry out the seals. Very excited to get these done.
  8. I'm riding tomorrow, in fact I was going to start a thread but I'll just tag along on yours. What time are you thinking? Where abouts do you wanna ride to? We can meet somewhere central to our locations or whatever, I have a decent route I like to take down towards amish country or you can lead the way.
  9. Welcome to the fold. Good to see someone getting into the sport at a young age. You must have a cool dad. I'm in massillon but generally ride toward the south and west.
  10. Shit I shaved mine off as soon as the last snow storm melted away. Will sport chin fur till football season.
  11. He's lucky I'm a persistent bastard Lol. But yeah dude, don't just come for tech advice, come on some rides, argue about guns or politics or something, lots of good people on here.
  12. Sure thing. If I ever get my 849 cc cb750 project bike back on the road we can go on a vintage ride. I also have a rubbermade tote FULL of parts if you ever need something.
  13. Good judgement comes from experience my friend, and experience comes from poor judgment.
  14. Oh I end up in Wayne Co quite frequently when I ride. Glad we could be of service, I enjoy figuring out stuff like this. If you ever find yourself in too deep, I fix bikes out of my garage in massillon.
  15. Lol... yeah LED bulbs don't draw enough current and they make the unit think the bulb is burnt out. So easy fix bro! And now you have a deeper, more personal relationship with your scoot!
  16. Read up on the stop warning light. It will also come on if you have LED tail lights or if either filaments in the tail light bulbs are out so double check and make sure you have both tail and brake light.
  17. well yeah. with the stop warning doohickey disconnected you can isolate the oil pressure switch. Leave it unplugged and hook up the switch. Ignition on, light should be on. Start motor, light should turn off. If it doesn't then you have an issue with the wire between the switch and the light. If the light turns off with the motor running but turns back on when you connect the stop warning jobby then the issue is with that system.
  18. There may be some wires you have to jump if you remove the stop safety unit. I disabled the starter safety on my 73 cb750 and had to jump some wires in the clip to get the bike to start again.
  19. Sweet. Install seems pretty straight forward on the videos I've seen. Looking forward to having a decent suspension on the bandit for once...not sure if there's much left to upgrade on it after this..
  20. Oooooh, look at me, I'm pauly with my fancy pants eye-talian motorbikes.
  21. Yeah. unplug the bulb, attach wire to wire from bulb and run to switch.
  22. I've ran em over with a half ton truck before...works best with 2 people.
