  1. Thanks Paul. Even tho most people say the stock suspenders are too soft, I haven't had a problem. Its possible the guy who set it up for touring also upgraded forks but the shock appears to be stock. The performance mods I have planned should boost me up over 115 hp which is probably plenty. It already has great brakes. Would love a Corbin seat but at $450 its not gonna happen right now. Will do a couple other small appearance mods, maybe a timing advance....this winter if I get bored ill slap a set of gsxr cams in, I can do that in about 2 hours.
  2. Now to butcher that ugly ass fender...
  3. Keeping it for now, I can be ready for some light touring in six bolts. Idk if you could modify for your triple, it has 4 bolts that go in where the grab rail bolts on, then 2 supports go down and bolt onto the bolts that hold the passenger pegs on....pretty bike specific.
  4. 80 and sunny here at work by Akron regional airport. I know its coming tho, one storm around 8 or 9, then another at 2-3am.
  5. Woke up today with lots of boxes waiting for me. Yosh rs3, dynojet kit and flush mounts. Got the pipe on and stripped off the givi rack before I had to leave for work. Man do I love the sound of a big bore four through a yosh pipe....waiting on my k&n filter before I rejet and tune. Took the bike a block up the road and back before leaving and she sounds nice. The only thing better than buying a new-to-you bike is making it your own.
  6. Thats one ugly exhaust. The rest of the bike is titties tho.
  7. Its pretty fucking good. Worth watching a few full episodes before making a decision.
  8. On my old Honda 750 I added an oil pressure gauge. I drilled and tapped the main oil gallery plug, screwed in a fitting with a plastic line ans ran it up to the clocks and mounted the gauge. Everything was fine until I swapped the 4-2 exhaust for a 4-1 header. The new pipes were just close enough to the plastic line and one day while getting on tallmadge circle, the ass end about got away from me because I had run over my oil spot. Brand new chrome headers now covered with burnt oil. I parked the bike, walked to a hardware store, bought a crescent wrench and a plug and was good to go.
  9. Wow. Ok, going to organize those options from cheapest to most expensive and work my way down the list.
  10. Noticed a funny thing on the bandit today. Above 45 or so if I take my hands off the bars they start to shake violently after a few seconds. In all the bikes I've owned I've never had this happen. Explanation anyone? It has new-ish shinko raven tires, pivot bearings don't feel shot, forks don't seem bent.
  11. Sorry, I'm an atheist... I take that back, I'm not sorry.
  12. When I was maybe 20, I did a fuel pump of a buddy's piece of shit dodge fury. After the job it was time to get it started and it was having trouble pumping the fuel on just the starter motor. To avoid killing his battery I decided to pour gas directly into the top of the carb, which made the engine run great, till it backfired through the carb and caught it and all the spilt gas on the top of the motor ablaze. He ran to get something to extinguish the growing flames with and returned with patio furniture chair cushions. Oddly, they turned out to be highly flamable as well. At this point in time a cyclist happened upon us and withou asking I relieved him of his water bottle and poured it on the now fully engulfed engine. The effect was non existant. Here comes my buddy at a full run with the garden hose which he had forgotten to fully un-ravel. Ten feet from the street he runs out of slack and is promptly slammed on the ground by momentum and gravity. He finally gets the hose over and we put his car out. For shits and giggles I tell him to try the motor again. Fucking thing starts right up and he gave me a lift home. A week later the frame broke just behind the motor cradle and he scrapped it for beer money.
  13. How about posting the code on the plugs? They are bound to fit other bikes.
  14. Fz1, bandit, vfr, zrx, zzr. I was looking for a combo of sport bike performance and long ride comfort and looked heavily into the above bikes before buying my 1200 bandit. All can be fitted with luggage and all have a pretty comfy upright seating position and a kick ass liter class motor.
  15. Nice edit. Wtf ever, sumo ain't my thing for right now, still cool bikes tho.
  16. Yeah, I rode an xr650 my old boss built. Punched it out, big cams, lots of suspension work and dual Jardine cans. It was beastly but I dont think it was any crazier than my cousins 07 gsxr or any of the liter bikes ice owned or ridden.
  17. Hey did you have to remove the pair system when you changed the exhaust?
  18. EBay up a set of pazzo knock-offs. They look the shit and are 6 way adjustable at a fraction of the cost of some pazzos.
  19. Yosh rs3 slip-on. Bought dynojet stage 1 kit and k&n panel filter. Will do the 2" hole mod and also snorkle delete. 118 at the wheel is plenty for a moron like me. Hope you were ok afterwards, that looks like it was a wicked digger.
  20. Hell of a lot better than my TL1000s. It got maybe 28mpg.
  21. The old school gsx motor is just such a great lump of aluminum. Reliable, low maintenance and plenty powerful. I was looking at what you can do with a big bore kit, gsxr cams, exhaust, jets and ignition advance, the guys at holeshots are squeezing like 140 hp out of that old mill. I'm not going that crazy, just some stage 1 action, mostly to get it to run right with the yosh pipe.
