  1. Nick, there is a wealth of information online concerning the effects of wd40 on rubbers and plastics. My statement wasn't ignorant, it was informed. As an aircraft mechanic I deal with a lot of rubber seals. Guess what I soak them in to loosen them up to make them easier to remove? You can keep on using that redneck juice on your chain, idgaf. I'll stick to k1, its cheaper and works better.
  2. I'll never use wd40 on an o-ring chain. Take an o-ring, put it on a nail or whatever it will fit on ans put it in a cup of the stuff. O-ring swells up and comes off. Clean with kerosene, it won't damage rings and it has better lubricating properties than wd, which is designed to displace water.
  3. There's not much to fuck up there. Worst case, it still leaks. Put on your big boy pants and get your hands dirty.
  4. I've heard great things about klotz klr. Liquid wrench chain lube is absolute garbage, I know that much....here, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taSc61XzufQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  5. My dad has a vrod, and I guess the ecu runs constantly due to the factory anti-theft. He keeps it on a tender because the parasitic load from the ecu killed his battery the first winter he stored it. Is this wrong?
  6. I was always under the impression that a battery tender charged and discharged the battery alternately....
  7. Worlds fastest Indian, FTW.
  8. Ok, been a long time and she still isn't back together....but I'm close. Need to make a set of ring compressors and I can get the jugs on. After that I need to order up some stiffer valve springs and the head can go on. Then a cam and she's done. I'm using a tool my dad made out of a vice grips like 25 yrs ago to do the springs, works like a charm. Should I lap the valves while I'm at it? Pulled one tonight and the seat is still smooth and shiny. Only issues I can find is on 3 of the valves there is wear from the tappet adjuster on the end of the stem...I'm gonna let this go to avoid shelling out the money to have the head ground and re-valved. I'll take pics during the assembly in case anyone is interested.
  9. Tl1000, either the s or the r. I've owned and rode a lot of bikes but the tl is my fave. Heli bars and an aftermarket seat and you can put in a 200 mile day with little difficulty. Monster torque from 4k on up, 10.5k redline and lots of power above 7k. It sounds like the end of the world coming down the street. Only drawbacks are weak aftermarket, eats rear tires and chains and while it feels faster than anything you've ever ridden, a 600rr will pass it once it gets up into the revs....and the rear damper is a bit weak.
  10. He left his truck running. There's no way I could have gotten past him to his truck, my car was between the garage and his truck. Just hope that's the last I'll see of him.
  11. I know shady....when I was sure the guy was infront of my house the adrenaline kicked in and I got all antsy in my pantsies, grabbed the hammer and was out the door. It's probably better that I didnt cave his skull in, would probably catch an assault case....deadly force isn't ok to usr in defense of property and I would have a tough time proving self defense.
  12. I have the stockers off my tl, look em up, see if they'll work.
  13. Hey bubby, you shipped my t-shirt twice....thanks!

  14. He came back. I was out in my garage till 5am drinking beer and tinkering with my Honda project when I hear someone pull up and park right infront of my driveway. I killed the motion lights on the outside of the garage, grabbed a 3 lb sledge and headed out the side door. He was walking towards my car when he saw me, I brandished the hammer and he turned around and double-timed it to his truck and tore ass down the road.
  15. I had a traynor 100 watt head on a 15 and an 18. It thumped pretty good
  16. +1 on the Ibanez Sr series, I had one, played awesome. I'd go for a better amp tho, 15 watts is gonna sound like ass imho. Bring an experienced musician, preferably a bassist with you to check your prospective instrument over, look for buzzing frets, loose tuning keys, make sure the action is good...
  17. Rohypnol doesn't talk....it drools.
  18. What looks like a tribal paint job on the tank is actually a reflection of lattice stored in the rafters of my garage.
