Competition accessories has sliders brand Kevlar jeans for $90. Get the ace boot cut, not as baggy, has hip armor, pockets for knee armor and everything sort of "hangs" by the waistband so there's not a bunch of extra stitching all over the jeans. My only complaint is that they're kinda hot and the rise is way too long on mine, get them a size shorter on the inseam.

Finally had time to ride it. Fun little bike. Decent amount of power, sounds good and most importantly even with pod filters it runs correctly. Pulls all the way to redline, can take full throttle in 4th gear at 2k Rpm and not bog or stutter. Needs a little stronger spring in the choke detent because it vibrates out sometimes and the clutch slips under hard shifting but an adjustment and oil change should fix that. Also, paint is of the shitty rattle can variety and has zero clear coat. I discovered this when I dripped some gas on it, wiped it off and it removed paint. Gonna get it painted mean green. Will list for $2k if anyone is interested. I figure with new pint, tires, fresh carbs, brakes etc it is worth that.

Gap should be on a data plate on the bike. I'd pull the coil and check resistance on both primary and high tension sides.

I almost owned a triumph once. It was an 03 sprint 955i. Hunter green. Gorgeous bike. It came down to that or a bandit 1200 and I went for the bandit based on parts cost and ease of engine modifications. Still, a sprint is on my list.

Update: Tried the balls from a zerk but they were too small kept binding up. Ended up sacrificing an old shitty ratchet to get the ball and spring from it. Perfect fit. Found some e clips at Napa and the new petcock came in yesterday. Also finished the block off plates for the emissions shit. Bike starts idles and revs nicely, haven't had opportunity to take it for a ride yet. Once I get the brakes in good shape it will be ready to sell if anyone is looking for either a great commuter bike or a good running core for a cafe or bobber project.

I've put a few hundred miles on a dyna. Shit bike. Underpowered, no ground clearance and surprisingly uncomfortable for a cruiser. Road kings are a tad better but still anemic. I've rode almost every model Harley makes and the only thing that impressed me was the straight line acceleration of the vrod. Coming from an fz6 which will do pretty much everything you're gonna be underwhelmed by a bike that does pretty much one thing.

Also discovered I need detent balls and springs to keep the choke rod in the on or off position. Some googling tells me I can use the balls and springs from a zerk fitting. Just have to beg a few and drill them out.
