Remember.........Duane thinks that a 21 year old is a child as well. The kid screwed up big time and maybe the cop did too, but the real problems and issues at hand that lead up to bad situations like this start at home. Kids are involved in gangs every bit at this age, and kids are used and or are fighting in past and present war conflicts at that early of an age as well. Raised in a certain environment, and many times you become that environment. I hate for that kid being dead, I hate for that officer who took him down..........but shit aint gonna change until people decide to change their lives and be responsible parents and citizens. If your born in the ghetto or in a bad situation, do your best to get out.......immigrants both legal and illegal seem to thrive and prosper just fine with creating a better life for themselves here. Lazy victim mentality Americans are also thriving in this country, and they don't want to work hard, be responsible and accountable, or play by the rules like the rest of us.

Lets say from here on out that all law enforcement will be black, do you honestly think or believe they would act or react any differently? Law enforcement profile for a reason "we all profile for a reason", the perception of such is very strong and backed by allot of statistics. Want to change the perception of law abiding citizens and law enforcement, it is not rocket science to realize how that can be accomplished. Stop giving law enforcement and people in general a reason to assume, and eventually the perception and distrust will drastically be reduced. It took us a good while to get to this low point we are at, and it will take a long time to dig us out of this race war and aggressive cop FUBAR situation we are in as well.

I am a rabid 2nd amendment supporter, but I sure as hell do not want guns in the hands of criminals no matter what our freedom to carry might very well be, "they are a big reason why we carry right"? And if a person of any color does not want to have a certain perception given towards them......how they carry themselves, talk, look, dress, who they hang out with etc....human nature kicks in and we assume or suspect things. I am glad to hear that the fella that ran into the OP's place is legal to carry, but he would be wise to carry in a different manner and change his attitude for several reasons, one being of the things being what a person might and could very well assume.

Thanks for telling me what I assumed and why I assumed it. You have to admit that is "thug style", and anytime you see a full size pistol not in any type of holster system hanging out of a pocket or stuffed in the waistband tends to make you wonder. And as a society how have we allowed laws to be made that we may not entirely agree with, are we able to control as citizens what laws that state governments make? We can only vote on who we put into office, we do not vote on the laws they decide to make because they feel it is a good idea.

Duane has a skewed way of looking at what seems most anything and everything, he also denies allot of reasons or factors as to why certain things happen and why people are the way they are "or he makes excuses for them". He seems personally responsible enough, but fails to realize that many are not.
