  1. I always thought that overall you have a greater chance of crashing on the track than you do the street, most of which are harmless low sides, worst case is you have a bad high side. Air fence is becoming more and more common to see at tracks so is reducing the risk of hitting something after crashing. That said the risk of injury is still greater on the track IMO, and even more so when you are at race pace rather than track day pace.

I would say that the chance of death would be greater by riding on the street on fast rides between gravel on the road, cars going left of center or even low siding into an on coming car or guardrail etc... Also on a track medical staff is right there to help out if something really goes south.

I suppose whichever you choose there is a risk that we all take. I personally enjoy track more because you dont have to worry about gravel or cars or wildlife "for the most part". You can just push as hard as you are willing/able and can learn so much more about how to control things like spinning up the rear when coming out of a turn. You can also see your improvements via lap time and dont have to worry about tickets. Im sure you and other street riders have their own reasons for preferring street riding over the track.

  2. I think the cost was raised by $40 if I remember right.

The track is a ton of work... you hardely ever get a break but it is an absolute blast. After this weekend I would have to put this up to the top of my track list with NCM... and we have got to ride on some killer tracks so far this year.

  3. Not really sure at this point.  Weather forcast is definetly looking up.  Still waiting to see if I have to take my daughter to her horse show.  If not I will be there Sunday in my usual mindset (tired and hungover)

I heard it was going to be 80 and sunny.

  4. Depends on the asphalt compound, NCM has the same compound as COTA and it was like riding on velcro and tires looked brand new. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix was on the full track last weekend, there was a track night in america last night and there is an hpde on Friday.

  5. Either way Sunday looks good.

If there is a 50% chance of rain in the afternoon.... might be worth it just to go out there until it lets loose.

But dont have to worry about any of that, because 80 and sunny.

  6. Thx again guys, jester I was actually looking at places near columbiana to rent before settling in Poland for now.

That is still pretty close to where I am. We actually moved about 10 minutes away and live on 164 right now.

  7. Was short of my goal of a 1:38 but ran a 1:40 so made good progress from the last time I was there, maybe next time. Track was great in the afternoon sessions, and I can only remember one caution adn one red flag.

Hope you didnt get hurt Bruce, saw you sitting on the pit wall on our way in.

  8. This will be my first twilight and Advanced sessions at mid ohio as well, always ran Intermediate for some reason.

Not sure why/how, but late last year and early this year something clicked in my head and I have picked up the pace. Hoping for a 1:38, but will be happy just getting everything back in the trailer in one piece.

  9. Little more than 2 weeks left until PIRC full.

I am considering taking my 350z out on the full track on the 14th to get a feel for the place before taking the bike out.
