Thought it might be cool to implement a "bike build" forum for everyone to document whatever they are working on to either back from the dead or build for the track.
Arent the harley rentals from dealers realllly expensive? We were going to rent a motorcycle when we were in myrtle beach last summer but couldnt find anywhere good to ride it. I think it was like $100 a day. Just checked, its Eaglerider.com they also rent in other cities.
Since I wadded up the CBR on the track its now a track slut. Not sure what I want to get as a next bike. Would like a S1000RR but would also like something more comfy for the wife.
Love the description. "There's no power in the universe that can stop a the impending darkness that is the collapse of the civilized world. But with a generator, at least you'd have a little light by which you can write a farewell note. Maybe future archeologists will thank you for it."
I want to make a trip to NYST this summer. What else is there other than Road Atlanta and Jennings? Maybe a little further but there are some tracks in Texas.
We have an 18ft enclosed to throw everything in. Could probably squeeze 6 bikes in if we tried hard enough but only have 5 seats in the truck lol. Anyone done any track days in Texas? I think with 4 bikes everyone would spend $175 for gas round trip to Jennings.
There were three or four of us looking to go this Jennings this winter, can fit all the bikes in a trailer and split gas. Seems like you can get highs in the 60s some of the time, whats the best month to go?
Thanks, looks in alot better shape in pictures than in person, trust me lol. I think the guy said the plastics had been down 3 times but they held up pretty well, will repair and repaint over the winter.
After a few long nights and some cash I got the bike put back together and looks like I will be at nelson Saturday. Just need my clipons and rear sets to be delivered tonight and then wash all the mud from PIRC off of the swingarm and wheels lol.
I will probably be there on saturday but wont be riding. Had an incident at PIRC 2 weeks ago and dumped a bunch of money into the bike to upgrade/fix it. I think the bike will be ready but my wallet wont for the track day.
Im not one to double bulb someone. Smaller turbo would help a bit sure but I get along fine with the way it is. Cut pretty consistent .0x lights which is good enough for classes I run in. My 60ft just suffers a bit, normally lose .05 or .1 in eliminations compared to testing and qualifying where I can sit and build boost.
I have more fun on my bike on a road course than I do drag racing my car. But that said I can see how everyone thinks its easy and boring in a slower car, but as you go faster it gets more fun and is a more difficult thing to do. I have a foot brake turbo car and it is hard to stage and launch on time under boost since I dont have a trans brake. Though its no where near as difficult as taking the bike around for a session. Different strokes.
