  1. Got off the phone with the claim rep for his insurance company. He changed his story again, according to them. He said he attempted to move his car a touch forward and that it was pouring down rain. So his story is as so: 1.) I didn't see him and turned in front of him 2.) I was waiting in the turn lane and watched him fall on his own 3.) It was pouring rain and I was moving forward to start a turn, but didn't actually turn I sent the 911 call to the claim rep. She already left a message stating she has completed her 'investigation'. I'll call tomorrow and see how this turns out.
  2. Doesn't look like there is going to be any video, but I was able to get a hold of the 911 calls. The main one sums everything up and, in my opinion, pretty much shows the driver of the SUV is not telling the truth. I am going to try to get in touch with them and thank them for calling 911 and see if they'd be willing to come forward as a witness if needed. One of the other later 911 callers stated something along the lines of 'there is a motorcycle in the middle of the road, actually I think it is a moped' . fml, minus one for the Blast .
  3. I have a feeling this officer was doing the least he could possibly do. I'll try to get ahold of the police report.
  4. Another officer mentioned there was damage to the dudes car, but could not determine if it was from my bike.
  5. Scruit, he started saying that I was not even close to me and he is not responsible. So, at first he said he didn't see me and turned right into traffic and when they were about to cite him he says that I was far away from him and magically witnessed everything. All my witnesses had left. There was one lady that was up in his face yelling at him because she was a rider as well. There was one police officer that even stated in the beginning that the guy admitted to not seeing me and just turned. That officer left, a new officer takes over and guy makes up a story. I'm really hoping I can get video of it. Was thinking of posting a sign at the intersection asking for witnesses to come forward. Only afraid the sign will be ripped down.
  6. I'll try to keep this simple... Columbus, Ohio Cleveland Ave. and Route 161 (Dublin-Granville Rd) a man in a Nissan Murano heading North turning West turns directly in front of me heading South. I had no choice but to grab my brakes otherwise I would probably be in much worse condition (and in his car). My bike goes down and the guy tries to drive off. A few people corner him into the side of the road. He admits that he didn't see me and that he turned into the lane. Witnesses nearby couldn't believe what he did and say that he turned right in front of me. Police show up, say they are going to cite him, guy admits to one officer that he didn't see me and turned right in front of me. My witness leaves, a different officer at the scene ends up taking the report, after everyone leaves and I go to inspect my bike the guy changes his story. Officer doesn't end of citing him. There is a camera at Cleveland & 161, if anyone knows how I can get a hold of video from Friday, September 20, 2013 around 9:30 pm - 10:30 pm that would be helpful. Also, there was a lady who called 911 and forced the guy off the road and stuck around for awhile... first off, thank you. You mentioned you were a rider yourself and witnessed the whole thing. You left before any of your information was taken, or maybe between the lack of communication between officers the information was lost? But, I could really use you as a witness. This guy is making up stories at this point and was not cited because the officers magically had no witnesses. To sum me up at this point, right knee is tendor, back of left leg is 'pinching' along the whole back side, lower back is in spasm as well as front below ribs, and upper back around shoulder blades are a bit sore. To sum up the bike, road rash on right side (any metal parts that touched the ground have about a 1/4" shaved off of them), wind shield is broken off, right turn signal is gone, right mirror is broken, won't start at this point, and wheels are making weird grinding noises. To sum up my gear, right knee of over pants have road rash, air back jacket went off, looks like back of helmet may have touched the ground. ... I guess you actually have to face plant into someones car before someone can get a failure to yield citation.
  7. So, NSA, if I have a casing with a hole in the bottom of it, and in the bottom of it a string tied in the hole, then on the other end of the string, tied into a hole on another casing, aaaannndd I talk through it... Can you hear me now?
  8. My USPS guy is pretty cool. Rides an 8 cylinder Boss Hoss. He occasionally brings pics of the new paint jobs or engine upgrades he does to it. He will always remind me of bike nights if I happen to see him. That is a funny video. Thanks for sharing. I will say, I've seen my USPS guy maneuver his USPS vehicle, and he is pretty solid. Much better than your crack addict USPS driver . ... He even brings treats for my dogs when he comes to deliver packages.
  9. Does this only happen when the bike is in gear, or in neutral? Is there a kickstand safety switch on this bike, or any other safety switches for neutral, etc.?
  10. Did you ever check the carb boot?
  11. May have a used 19"x4" Stainless SuperTrapp (425-17190 4"ID SS Univ:1.75"INLET,19"Long) available soon. Used it for about a year. There is a dent in the side that is fixable from the brake bleeder screw bumping up against it. I'm getting rid of it because with recent modifications there is no easy way to mount it. Going to go with a smaller muffler. I'll get pics soon. Here is a video of it, though: And this one: And another video, which you can make fun of my attempt at wheelies :
  12. Carb boot possibly? Choose what you want, but you could spray a little wd40 around the carb boot and if the idle changes you likely have a bad carb boot. Or carb boot loose? Also, tighten too much and it could damage it as well.
  13. I first watched this without audio, then with audio to see if the guy said anything that would have sounded like he was going to somehow injure the cops or something along those lines. As far as I could tell the guy was just exercising his first amendment right. It is hard to tell, with the speakers I was listening through, if the guy said anything threatening (I don't think he did). If that is the case, I don't think the police had any justification (my opinion), to put the guy in handcuffs and manhandle him a bit. The way I look at this, the police were wrong from the start. If I look at it that way, the dog would have never been shot/provoked. Similar to 2 robbers going into a convenient store and one kills the clerk, they both get murder. The cops shouldn't have touched this guy and it is their fault the dog was killed. The man was not able to keep his dog in check because he was being physically restrained. His dog was potentially protecting his owner, I call that a good dog. In addition, the man went out of his way to put his dog in his car AND did not resist any BS the crappy cops decided to do to him. Cops were the aggressors, not the man or dog. - Was it reasonable for the officer to believe he was about to be bitten? Yes. - If yes, was it reasonable for the officer to fire a shot to stop that bite? No, for the reason that the officers were wrong to begin with. - Was it reasonable to fire the 3 follow-up shots? I never really considered the 3 shots to be follow up shots, just thought they took longer.
  14. A couple: Was in parking lot, bike was coughing on start up, hit throttle hard, slowly released clutch, didn't realize was in gear. Bike went straight for a car. Either barely hit the door or barely missed the door of the car. Either way no damage, but I was holding on for dear life. Was at night, at a stop light, I was testing some new mods. I had a rather stock Buell Blast, so holding the throttle open and releasing the clutch was not that big a deal. Although, this time I released too quick and the front tire went straight to the sky! I was knocked off and running along with my bike through the intersection until I could hop back on.
  15. Harbor Freight, if you have one close by has a security bit set for cheap that usually has all those odd bits. http://www.harborfreight.com/100-piece-security-bit-set-68457.html
  16. I haven't heard the audio, and I don't know all the details, this isn't about who the current president is, all I am saying is the imagine bothers me.
  17. Still not seeing the menacing charge here...
  18. If there was something on the door that said no firearms allowed I could see him with a misdemeanor charge (I believe that is the law), but not seeing the menacing charge here. The menacing thing seems a little odd. In a perfect situation where he wasn't causing problems, had a CCW, was not asked to leave by the owner, I am going with cop doesn't know the law (not surprising here). Although, I'd be open to knowing the full story...
  19. So, if a cop simply walks up to you and tries to take your red t-shirt, he has a right to? Open Carry = Legal = Right to Bear Arms Red T-Shirt = Legal = Right to Expression Legal... Illegal... Not seeing the grey area here... Never know, though, you could use it to smother him! ... and yes I know each state is different. It is also Texas...
  20. I wrote a representative a while ago and was in communication with his assistant. She got in touch with ODOT and their reply was ridiculous. They said that if motorcycles lane share cars will want/try to as well. I'm all about lane sharing.
  21. sigh... I have to go through this every time I post . I paid 500 for it, I could probably buy another for 500. I've put thousands into it and for what reason? Because I can. If I start to try to make sense... well, there is not much sense to it.
